Morning Cup Of Joe
June 16th, 2026
Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.
People should have told the Euro and third-world kickball outfit FIFA that this is America and if you don’t like it, eff off. If it wasn’t for America, those sniveling snail-eaters et al would all be eating sauerkraut and sushi. The gall of these NFL billionaires bending the knee like this. If you need more money that badly, buy more Google stock. FIFA? More like FAFO! Don’t these NFL folks have any backbone or soul? Hope those stadium corporate sponsors that spent tens of millions of dollars on naming rights remember how quickly they got sold out by their alleged close business partners the next time their naming rights contract is up. #Sad [PFT]

Amid dueling lawsuits and college football’s foundation about to crumble, self-confessed gambling addict Brendan Sorsby has entered the NFL supplemental draft late last night. Now, who is he going to sue to be eligible to play in the NFL? League chieftain Roger Goodell frowns upon his players gambling. [Lubbock Avalanche-Journal]
And some folks wonder why Joe has zero intention of ever jumping off a bridge with just a glorified rubber band separating him from death. (What did mom say about jumping off a bridge?) [WFLA]
Miami to Puerto Rico by jet ski. Bet this sure sounded fun when it was hatched at the waterfront bar. Man, talk about getting beat up all day long. How do these dudes not get sea sick or just beat to hell after a couple of hours? Got woozy just from watching it. [TikTok]

When the Houston Astrodome opened in 1965, the world's first domed stadium was hailed as the "Eighth Wonder of the World," and became one of America's top tourist attractions. But after decades of decline, the Dome now sits empty beside its successor, NRG Stadium. @MoRocca goes… pic.twitter.com/45wATEmtQP

Is that a bad thing? The world lives in a Futbol world. The sooner folks embrace this, the better we will be as a people.
Dillon Danis may have been kicked, but he probably deserved it.
LOL!!! I just checked and it’s over 1000 miles from Miami to PR. Yikes!

I’m no FIFA fan in particular, but I never liked the cheap –quality, not price– commercial names on stadia, and the best players in any sport should play on the best grass.

You folks can be as upset as you want at FIFA, and call it all sorts of names. We don’t live in an American football world. Only the USA does. The rest of the world lives and loves Futbol/Soccer. The powers that be (globally) control it all. The NFL and the owners can’t touch the power and money those global powers have. That is the only reason they can make the NFL owners do whatever they want them to do.

And that’s all Joe gives a damn about.
