Bucs Cancel Day 3 (Thursday) Of Mandatory Minicamp
June 17th, 2026
NFL coaches love to moan about not having enough practice time. It gets old.
Today, Todd Bowles canceled Day 3 (Thursday) of the Bucs’ scheduled three-day mandatory minicamp.
It seems Bowles thinks the team has accomplished its spring goals. That’s a good sign. Joe suspects if new offensive coordiator Zac Robinson felt he needed one more day, the team would be practicing Thursday in some capacity.
A shortened minicamp is nothing new at One Buc Palace or around the NFL. Heck, the Rams and 49ers canceled theirs entirely this season. Of course, those teams have had the same head coaches in place for a long, long time, per NFL standards.
After the final minicamp practice today, which is strictly glorified flag football, the Bucs will return to the field July 30 for Day 1 of 2026 training camp.

Hmm…makes me wonder if Bowles will continue the walk through practices of last season that didn’t get great results during games. Hopefully not.

That’s one day less for injuries to occur, like last year with David Walker.

Non-playoff teams with a bunch of new coaches don’t need to practice. Take a vacation.

8-9 and no playoffs in a garbage division in 2025.
Solution: Less practicing and the same HC\DC.
Pure genius. SB here we come!

Todd’s Camp Cupcake – 2026. Same as last year. I mean, it worked so well…
We’ve seen this movie before. The ending sucks.

It … it’s one practice.
June 17th, 2026 at 10:35 am
Yes, it could be a bad ending!

People the NFL made them cancel the practice because their others were too hard for the NFLPA. This isn’t Bowles being soft. HE is just assuring people that this won’t affect their plans.

maybe bowles told the team, get ready for an tough physical training camp were their will be no days off and the sense of urgency will be present
we’ll see
GO BUCS!!!!

Oops – My mistake the lost an OTA not a mini camp practice. Let the bashing resume.
June 17th, 2026 at 10:50 am
The way the tackling looked last season they need to stop taking time off and drill the hell out of fundamentals.
June 17th, 2026 at 10:56 am
Some of you people are ridiculous. Nothing done in the spring is going to carry over in training camp in a meaningful way. If a practice was cancelled during training camp then that’s an entirely different matter.

Agree but good luck with that! Reality and objectivity generally take a back seat to negativity here especially this time of the year.
And I get and support a lack of objectivity on sports team blogs. I find it amusing however when one could choose irrational exuberance in cheering for their team and instead choose irrational negativity. I’m frequently guilty of the first but never the second. But I concede as a fan my objectivity can and should be challenged.

let’s pretend extra Oklahoma drills in 95-degree heat are the missing ingredient to a Super Bowl run.
You must wake up with a lemon in your mouth and a stick in your arse

stpetebucsfan. Glad to see your post! We’re gonna have a great year. And your objectivity should not be challenged.

Hey, Lynch50 – the fat cheerleader from the Pom Pom squad tries to be a bully. It’s kind of cute in a 3rd grader sort of way.
