Von Miller Vs. Chris Braswell
May 30th, 2026
Are the Bucs all-in to win a Super Bowl this season?
Joe knows there are high hopes at One Buc Palace and a strong majority of Bucs fans, when last surveyed, believe the Bucs will have a winning season. But how committed is the organzation to winning now?
It’s a safe bet that legendary edge rusher Von Miller, who played 17 games and had 9 sacks in a part-time role last season, is a more valuable player than third-year Bucs edge rusher Chris Braswell.
Miller has been public about wanting to continue his Hall of Fame career. He had a $6 million salary with Washington last season plus incentives. Perhaps he would work for less at 37 years old?
Miller has a passion for mentoring young players. He talked about that on SiriusXM NFL Radio during Super Bowl week, and the Bucs have rookie edge rusher Rueben Bain, 2025 rookie David Walker coming back from injury and fourth-year man YaYa Diaby. Not only is it a very safe bet that Miller could help their growth, Miller has walked the walk when it comes to developing pass rushers, via his summer Sack Summit and on teams.
Bucs sacks king Shaq Barrett gives Miller a heck of a reference.
Joe sees Miller as a win-now move for Tampa Bay. Maybe the Bucs have reached out? Maybe Miller doesn’t like Florida? Maybe the Bucs prefer Al-Quadin Muhammad? Maybe, maybe, maybe.
Still, Joe keeps thinking about Braswell vs. Miller.

It’ll Never happen. Makes too much sense.

Can a team win a Super Bowl with a below average HC and a DC who makes Kirk Cousins look like an All Galaxy QB?
May 30th, 2026 at 4:13 pm
It’ll Never happen. Makes too much sense.
May 30th, 2026 at 4:15 pm
Not sure who is worse, JTS or Braswell.
May 30th, 2026 at 4:56 pm
Would love to see this happen.
Unfortunately, I don’t think it will.
Even at $7 million, Miller would be worth it if he stays healthy and can contribute in 17 games like he did last year.
YaYa will benefit just from having Reuben across from him. Having Miller there as a rotational player and mentor to him would help YaYa take his game to the next level.

Band Aid season
Bucs have a few additions to attract the next Coach
Too Many Openings this year for HCs so Bucs are waiting till next year
I Know The Toilet Crew will come out and scream 3 Division Titles
Same people who put up their Son’s 6th place trophy in the house
FACTS ARE FACTS Bowles as a standard inNFL HCs should have been gone long ago
May 30th, 2026 at 5:02 pm
Braswell isn’t likely to make the team this year with only $232k guaranteed.
Bucs already have their 5 OLBers in Diaby, Bain, Muhammed, Walker and Nelson – unless someone gets hurt of course….
Now if you want to debate about Von Miller being better for this team in 2026 than Anthony Nelson for the samish $ – then you can make that argument – until you realize that Nelson would be about a $4M dead cap hit if cut….
So NO – Von Miller is not signing with the Bucs unless there is a major injury to the position group….

I would bring in all the older FA pass rushers to help with the younger guys. What’s the harm in bringing them in at least and letting them compete for a job. Worse case is they don’t make the team. Year after year they’ve had the same crappy pass rush and have yet to do something real about it. Hard to believe when they say we’re doing everything they can to get better. Bring in Von, Bosa, even JPP and have Jason Taylor come help coach. Instead of spending all this money on a 10 part series spend it on coaching and players, really do everything possible to get better
May 30th, 2026 at 5:07 pm
Braswell is as much as gone….and, we don’t need Miller.
Bain, Diabi, Walker, Mohammed, Nelson
JPP if desperate

I would love to see them bring Miller in however, don’t think we will see it. The Vucs seem content. I guti don’t understand how any an be thinking SB or even playoffs with the current secondary. Morrison and McColumn? Really playoffs. A 500 record if lucky. I don’t see them winning the division. I think have hopes way too high. This today is not a championship defense. Maybe they prove otherwise, we will soon see. I am not being negative just realistic.

If its on the cheap! His knowledge is worth a ton Brasswells from Alabama he’ll get it together with the right mentor Miller’s a legend!
May 30th, 2026 at 5:42 pm
Miller wants to go to Denver which, according to most maps, is not in Floridai
May 30th, 2026 at 5:45 pm
Think Miller wouldn’t add much at his age, would rather the Bucs focus on available veteran CBs that might come available first and then maybe a younger DT or DE type later in the preseason once they cut Braswell. But yeah Braswell has not blown up like Licht promised, he has imploded.
May 30th, 2026 at 5:50 pm
I said they should’ve passed on Braswell from the beginning & I said he’d probably end up being a bust, too! I would’ve passed on him & the other dude coming out of Alabama that year, too! The one Minnesota took. Forget who it was.
May 30th, 2026 at 5:51 pm
The Glazers and Licht are NOT in a Win-Now mindset, so no Miller. Also, the Bucs kept only 5 OLB’s last year. With AQM and Bain coming in, Braswell doesn’t make the cut. Licht likes keeping his draft picks, so Braswell will go to the practice squad.
May 30th, 2026 at 5:52 pm
Love it Joe, but Miller would probably pass.
May 30th, 2026 at 5:52 pm
Bring in Von for a year or two. He can still play but yeah it would make too much sense so they probably won’t do it. He’d help that D.
May 30th, 2026 at 6:00 pm
No way TB brings in an accomplished pass rusher. Too much of a chance he would blow the BS cover up of Bowles ‘ pitiable defensive schemes.
May 30th, 2026 at 6:06 pm
Makes no sense to do this what’s the point in coaches if miller wants to be part of the staff then maybe.
May 30th, 2026 at 6:11 pm
If Von Miller could teach these guys what he taught Shaq Barrett, it might be worth it. I don’t see Braswell making the team, anyway.
May 30th, 2026 at 6:55 pm
Ok Tony pat yourself on the back why didn’t they listen to you your never wrong!
May 30th, 2026 at 7:05 pm
For the right he can be a back- up / mentor.
May 30th, 2026 at 7:21 pm
I’m already unsure how the Bucs are going to get Walker, Bain and Diaby on the field at the same time, let alone other pass rushers.
May 30th, 2026 at 7:22 pm
@Woodman
That would be nice if people were never wrong. I’m usually blamed for a bunch of stuff so no it’s actually the opposite. Sometimes they should listen to the fans. Sometimes I think the fans could do better.
May 30th, 2026 at 8:16 pm
Superbowl? Lol.
That will never happen with Bowles as HC.
If we brought back BA to run the show, then I’d say maybe it’s a possiblity.
But our D has been terrible for a few seasons, so Idk if it’s possible even if we had BA back.
May 30th, 2026 at 8:53 pm
If we have a winning record and seem to be peaking in December, then I will start thinking Supebowl. Nor am I going to laugh it off now.
Go Bucs!!
May 30th, 2026 at 9:36 pm
We need Trevon Diggs more than Miller.
Or another ILB.
We are actually fine at OLB for once.
May 30th, 2026 at 9:40 pm
Will never happen. Bowles Swiss cheese pass defense scheme ain’t changing and Miller wouldn’t fit in it.
Todd is a loser HC and always will be. He only won a title as a DC because a real HC was under control of the team.
Then BA sealed our fate by forcing Bowles on the organization.
Even worse they doubled down and resigned him after 2024 and 2025.
No other franchise would still have Bowles as the HC. It’s just dumb.
May 30th, 2026 at 9:42 pm
We get injuries to corners so often we desperately need another one. We have plenty of OLBs now capable of putting a qb on his backside. Now we need another outside cover corner. Just one more and I would have way more confidence. And there’s still a few decent free agents out there! Grab one! Rasul Douglas, for instance. Or Treyvon Diggs. Somebody! Much more important…
May 30th, 2026 at 10:06 pm
He can’t cover WRs 30 yards downfield. It would never work out for him here.
Only the best of the best can play for the guru HC\DC.
That’s how HE won three vaunted NFC South titles.
Way more valuable than the SB.

Unless, Bras has a HORRENDOUS camp… There is absolutely NO WAY the Bucs are completely ‘giving up’ on their 2nd-Round Pick, after only 2-seasons in. I mean, you’d hope to God they had a little more ‘confidence’ in him than THAT!? If they don’t, then we’ll all know 💯 FOR SURE, that everything Lickt tried ‘selling us’ on, was an even ‘bigger’ pile of crap than what we thought.
