“Midseason Form” Already For Rueben Bain

May 8th, 2026

First-round pick Rueben Bain.

The underwear, no-pads football practice known as rookie minicamp was in operation today at One Buc Palace.

Todd Bowles thinks his first-round pick, Miami Mauler edge rusher Rueben Bain, got the job done like a seasoned pro.

“He looked like he was in midseason form,”‘ Bowles said of Bain. Obviously, he’s from Miami, so he’s going to be practicing in the heat, where a lot of the other guys are going to struggle to adjust to this weather. It didn’t bother him at all. He came in in great shape, and he ran around well and kind of picked up some things very well.”

Joe is not surprised. Bain should look great among future grad students, Avis rental agents and amateur power lifters.

Regardless, Joe takes nothing for granted. Bain looked fit and sharp and ready for higher-level competition.

    Gonna wreck some people.

  3. Saskbucs Says:

Every rep to the max… love it.

Please stay healthy this year Calijah and Yaya. If our 3 best pass rushers can play most of the games, the D oughta be in much better shape this season.

  4. Defense Rules Says:

Noticed this before about Bain: he reminds me of Tristan Wirfs in the aspect that he’s got legs like tree trunks. I’m sure that helps them establish a great foundation to build on.

    Looking great!

  6. Lakeland Says:

He played 897 snaps with the Canes last season
He’s obviously in great shape, and full of stamina

  7. Superfranky Says:

I’ve seen these type of videos so many times, but I cannot remember anybody doing these drills with such speed and power

Bowles sucks! Oh wait this is a article about Bain
    See how it’s done 3.28.Evans , lynchmob??

  9. White Tiger Says:

Ferocious & violent are on display. N-I-C-E!

  10. WestPhillyBucsFan Says:

In all my years of Bucs fandom, I’ve never been more confident that we got the steal of the 1st round.

  11. Lefty Says:

Glazers suck as does their illegitimate son Todd.

  12. Ash Says:

Bain has me so excited about the bucs et’s go hurricane bain let’s go bucs can’t wait for the first game.

  13. 28.3.Evans Says:

Gosh hes looking a lot like the build of a young Sapp

  14. MostlyPeacefulTraskMob Says:

Sapp? No. Von Miller – and if he has half the career it would be an absolute coup for the Bucs.

  15. BucsFanSince1996 Says:

I almost feel sorry for the opposing players assigned to the task of blocking that guy. 😉

  16. Bojim Says:

He’ll have a big chip on his shoulder for sure.

  17. #99 the Big Fella Says:

3.28.Evans, you don’t sound like a fan anymore — you sound like a guy who built his entire identity around being miserable online. Every season is ‘over,’ every player is trash, every coach is clueless, every draft sucks… yet somehow you’re still here 24/7 begging strangers to notice your tantrums. At this point the Bucs could win the Super Bowl and you’d still be in the comments crying because nobody hugged you enough growing up.”

  18. Football 1 Says:

Yep looked amazing in shorts, give you that. I will say this you can’t knock the guys attitude!!!. Joe and Ira say Kiffin always emphasized hustle. This guy has tons, legs as big as trees and he bends like a cypress tree in a hurricane. Yes I am excited to see him play in pads.

  19. Jack Says:

Our front 7 is going to STOUT this year – man oh man. 💪🏼
This kid is an all round killer – pass rush and great against the run.

  20. #99 the Big Fella Says:

Jack I seen your argument with obvious.
That guy is off his rocker. Lol

  21. Jack Says:

Yes #99 pretty sure he really is. Bi polar with delusions of grandeur and impulse control disorder for starters would be my initial diagnosis but I’d guess there’s more if someone wanted to bother.

Did you know his hands have to registered as deadly weapons and he’s legally required to have any opponent (in a fight, sparring etc) take a physical before they can square off. I’ve known a few black belts and that’s not a thing except TV from the 80s but maybe he’s more advanced than that….

Do you think he’s a ninja 😎?. Maybe the law is different for them.

  22. Jack Says:

#99 True bro. I had another comment but it seems the Joes will moderate some posts by some people 🙈

  23. 3.28.Evans Says:

He “picked up some things” eh, Todd? Like dropping to deep flat even though nobody’s there? Excellent. Keep up the teachings. Kudos.

  24. Bucschamp Says:

Huge legs. He’s gonna be a cannonball

  25. Stpetematt Says:

Brutal Bain ready to chew up the competition and spit them out.

  26. Tony Says:

Maybe he should be renamed Reuben PAIN?

  27. Dacake23 Says:

Bain will take some time to develop for sure. But you gotta love his violence. The only guy that I remember being built like this guy was Mike Tyson. I ran into Iron Mike at a Footlocker in Albany NY and he was built like a freight train. Truly terrifying.

  28. 3.28.Evans Says:

With Todd working his magic, B-Rex has a chance to regress further and faster than any of the other defensive rookies who have all turned to suck playing for his Toddness.

  29. garro Says:

Now that gentlemen is punch! Anyone think of Willy Lanier watching that? Same build and some of the hardest hits in NFL history.

    Go Bucs!
