Jason Licht: Rueben Bain Is A “Serious” Man

May 13th, 2026

Serious.

To this day, if Joe retweets or reposts on TikTok the video of Jets fans melting down at the draft after their team passed on Warren Sapp back in 1995, the hilarious feedback is almost instantaneous.

Hopefully, someday, 20 years from now, Bucs fans will have the same reaction of the Rueben Bain selection.

You know what Joe is talking about. Bain slipped in the draft until the Bucs got him at No. 15. Bain was steamed and has no time to celebrate.

Instead of jumping up and down, Bain rubbed his palms together, and rather than preen in the stupid two-way mirror with a new cap, Bain just snatched the cap like Bain was fielding a line drive and Bain stomped out onto the stage to bro hug NFL strongman Roger Goodell.

Appearing last week on “Up and Adams” co-hosted by NFL it-girl Kay Adams, seen weekday mornings on FanDuel TV, Adams told Licht she really has to hunt to find a video of Bain smiling.

Licht said one reason for that is Bain is a very “serious” man.

“You know, he’s an old soul,” Licht said. “He’s all about business. He’s all about football. We had a group of his family — they were awesome, his mom, his aunt, his father, his grandfather [in Licht’s office] — and they were all the same.

“You could see why he is who he is. They were all very excited … and he was staring out my window, looking at the practice field, and doing this [Licht rubs his palms together like Bain did when he was selected in the draft].

“He’s ready to get to work. And I know that he’s excited, along with all of our rookies coming in, to get started. And I know we’re very excited to get to work with him.”

Joe thinks former Titans tackle and popular podcaster Taylor Lewan was right. Seeing how serious of a guy Bain is, Lewan said that Bain is going to (eff) some humans up in this league.

I love seeing families stixk together.

Our society has fallen apart in terms of divorces and single moms and empty homes.

I love seeing people like the Bain family that really stick together!

You can see they are truly a family!

Man, the more think about it, the less I see it going well for Bowles… I just keep asking myself WHY? Why isn’t Bowles smart enough? How did he get the job? “EVERYBODY KNOWS” you CAN’T fix stupid… So then why again doesn’t SOMEONE hire a Defensive Coordinator? ESPECIALLY Bowles! Without one, NOTHING CHANGES! Nothing. Can he Really Be THAT dumb? Well………..

Wonder what the over / under is for someone finally “having enough” and using bozo as a tackling dummy. Likely it’ll be Jason Taylor. And the reason? Should be OBVIOUS… Bowles SHOULD NOT BE allowed ANYWHERE NEAR BAIN!

Bowls WILL immediately go to work unwrapping and then warping Bain’s mind. He’s going to try to turn Bain into a farce, and “NOT the force” Jason Taylor molded Bain into. One of Jason Taylor’s “Master Peices” dropped on his head by Bozo.

Yeah Taylor and the Rest of the football world are MORE THAN AWARE that Bozo IS the WORST POSSIBLE coach that Bain could have POSSIBLY ended up with.
AND SO DO ALL OF YOU!

You REALLY THINK Bain and the others don’t or didn’t KNOW the “who’s WHO” of coaches and their reps before the draft? You think that the ENTIRE FOOTBALL WORLD DOESN’T “KNOW” THAT TODD BOWLES LOST THE ENTIRE TEAM? I kinda think they ALL knew and already KNOW what happened just a few months ago….

Yep… I don’t see it going well for Bozo, or BAIN. Unless……………

    Obvious
Time for your medicine. You must have skipped a dose

  4. BucU Says:

It’s no secret that I think Bowles is a terrible HC if not DC but I actually have some optimism now after this draft. We may have the pieces on defense now to at least compete on a weekly basis. Make no mistake his will absolutely be a NO EXCUSES season for one Todd Bowles. Win or pack your bags.

  5. Mike C Says:

99….. think you are right about the meds

  6. Stpetematt Says:

If Bowles doesn’t win it will be because of a rash of injuries crippling à critical position group again.

  7. Guzzie55 Says:

Last year our OL injuries and OC ineptitude were the biggest problems Bowles can blame, with good reason, this year is all on him and his defense, Licht restocked all 3 levels of defense so no excuses, need a top 12 defense or time to make a change

  8. Thonotosassa Says:

Obvious One speaks for Bain , Taylor , “EVERYBODY “ and “ the ENTIRE FOOTBALL WORLD “ . Obviously, Obvious One has an over inflated value of his worth. Meds can’t fix Obvious One’s issues.
