CBS Is Down On Bucs’ Start, Maybe Their Whole Season

May 15th, 2026

Scoffed at by CBS.

Like draft grades, it seems every Tom, Dick and Harriette has to type up a “Winners and Losers” of the NFL schedule release.

While Garrett Podell of CBS isn’t exactly calling the Bucs “losers,” Podell believes the Packers are a winner from the schedule release, in part because Green Bay plays the Bucs in Week 4.

Podell believes the Bucs will still be searching for their footing in Week 4 with so much roster change. And, Podell is a non-believer in Baker Mayfield.

Week 4 will feature another road game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team last seen losing seven of their final nine games of the 2025 season en route to missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Quarterback Baker Mayfield had his worst season as a Buccaneer by every key passing metric, and Tampa Bay will be breaking in yet another new offensive coordinator in Zac Robinson. Also, 2026 will be Mayfield’s first year with the Buccaneers without Mike Evans after the latter departed for the San Francisco 49ers.

Podell makes some valid point. And while Podell mocked Mayfield and the Bucs for losing seven of their final nine games — the Bucs should be mocked for that when you look at the level of their opponents in those seven games — perhaps Podell is unaware the Bucs jumped out to a 6-2 mark last season largely without Evans and without Chris Godwin, too.

It’s not like Mayfield will be throwing to a bunch of stiffs this season.

Last year is over, nothing to do with this year. Packers aren’t that great anyway, haven’t been since we squashed them 5 years ago. Funny the Chef’s had a bad year last year yet all the prognosticators are predicting great things from them, bounce back year. Maybe. Maybe not. Same teams chirped every year. Go have the Bain mentality. Don’t pose in the mirror, grab yer hat and get on with it.

  2. SB~LV ? Says:

The Bucs have to PROVE IT !
After the last two seasons suicidal losing STREAKS and the refusal of local media to do their jobs.
Bowels is like water that seeks its own level
Bowels is a lifetime.500 WL head coach

  3. Ballwasher61 Says:

A side note on losing Evans. If he would have retired instead of going to another team he would still be gone. Yeah the offense went through Mike, great weapon but for every negative about losing him there is a positive, or could be turned into one. We have 3 really good receivers in CG, EE, and JMAC, and an ascending one, I hope in Tez. Now add Hurst and a new OC. No one knows what the looks will be, how they will be schemed open, who is the primary in a certain formation, etc. It will take the league at least 1/2 the year to have tape on this offense, if it’s working well. And that’s not counting the running game or TE’s. It could be a better offensive production overall with out the 1 guy everyone knows will be targeted. All 4-5 of these guys are capable of big plays and certainly moving the sticks.

  4. Stpetematt Says:

Bowles now has some serious talent on defense. Watch out, NFL! Vea, Kancey and Bain all on the same defensive line will be *something*.

I like our chances to improve dramatically- mostly by injured players returning and that great draft and some key free agents.

  5. LynchMob50 Says:

Sounds like there’s some level headed folks at CBS. Believing what their eyes tell them. A novel concept indeed.

I highly doubt they were unaware of the Bucs 6-2 start.

That only makes the 2-7 finish that much more soul crushing.

Had we been around.500 the rest of the season after the bye, a Todd Bowles special, the playoffs would have been easily secured due to a putrid division.

Instead Todd blamed everyone else and fired all the scapegoats he could find.

Unfortunately for Toad Bowels, we’ve seen his genius first hand and the truth cannot be papered over by unrealistic uber positive lemming speak.

Steaming pile of cow dung > Bowles scheme

  6. ocala Says:

Most reasonable people can see the Bucs have a very strong roster. Their problem is obvious. The Bucs have one of the worst head coaches in the NFL. As a fan I wish that wasn’t the case.

  7. Football 1 Says:

Hi I am a big Bucs fan. However, as you know the Bucs were maybe worse than their record. As the season wore on they were flat awful and seemed to be getting worse as the season went on. With that in mind I think the Bucs until proven otherwise should be considered a less than 500 team. Yes they appear to have obtained some talent with the draft. However those players are no guarantee to make an impact next season if beyond. Additionally they still appear to have a huge need for a veteran starter at corner.
They have a rookie ILB now starting and another 31 years old. They have a ton to prove if you ask me. I am not getting my hopes up either until they prove something different. Right now I am in the minority but until they improve the CB position, I don’t see more than 6 wins. I don’t see Morrison or McColumn being starting players. Yes, while the Bucs have an offense it appears logical it will take some time to adjust to a new coordinator. Hopefully not long. Yes hopefully the Bucs get better as the season goes on and not worse. With better CB’play and the rookies gaining experience, I can see the team being much better at the end of the season, while starting out slowly at the beginning.

  8. BigZ Says:

Burrow, Chase and Higgins will cook Zyon and Benmo.

  9. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Team earned the ridicule. The question is can the players elevate their play, maintain it at a high enough level while displaying the consistency to be the best version of themselves week in and week out.

Riding the rollercoaster isn’t going to cut it in ’26, save that sh*t for Busch Gardens

  10. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

Don’t forget Dallas WRs, Detroit WRs, Green Bay WRs. They will be tested early and often. And then we will see if we are contenders or pretenders. I think we could be anywhere between 7 to 10 wins max at best.

  11. 40 year Bucs fan Says:

As much as I hate to say it, I see a down year to the years we barely won this terrible division in week 18 with some help should’ve been a sign. If this year goes how it’s looking like, e we can finally draft our franchise qb, so I guess some good will come of this.

  12. Truth be Told Says:

Who cares what these guys say? If they were so good at predictions, then they wouldn’t have to work. They could just gamble for a living, right?

  13. Beeej Says:

Three of the Bucs starting front seven aren’t even in the NFL anymore, neither of our guards could get a starting gig with any other team. Even when Baker threw for 4, 600 yards, Evans only got 1,000 of them. These national people never have a clear idea of what’s going on

  14. Ben Says:

The Bucs and Bowles have a lot to prove after last seasons debacle. Doesn’t surprise me

  15. #99 the Big Fella Says:

You guys are a big bunch of glass half empty people

  16. 3.28.Evans Says:

Whoever this Podell is, he’s overly optimistic. The Bucs footing left for San Francisco and Washington. Baker is who some wise posters have described him to be, and his gag reflex gets acute once the heat is on. Or the prime time lights. No amount of delusion or bullying of realistic takes is going to change the inevitable.

Jason could have but didn’t. Here we are.

  17. Fanofdabucs Says:

    Reasons to love this schedule.

    1) lots of 1 pm games-For whatever reason the Bucs tend to do well on normal Subday 1pm games.

    2) lack of primetime games- this goes back to reason 1. Primetime as been unkind to Baker and Bowles.

    3) perfect bye week timing- a mid-season Bye week is ideal.

I see 10-11 wins. But it all comes down to health and which Baker this team gets for 17 games.

  18. 813bucboi Says:

wish folks would stop talking about the 6-2 start lol…it means nothing!!!!

it aint how you start, its how you finish!!!!

Podell does makes some valid point…

Baker needs to prove he’s not a BUST…Bowles needs to prove he’s “still” a defensive guru and Zac needs to prove he’s a quality OC

    big year for the BUCS!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  19. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“wish folks would stop talking about the 6-2 start lol…it means nothing!!!!”

Agree, it’s a really narrow way of looking at last season and even that 6th win before the bye was frustrating considering the defense was 2 inexplicable whistles away from outscoring our offense in the last game before the bye. That’s not even their job.

“Baker needs to prove he’s not a BUST…Bowles needs to prove he’s “still” a defensive guru and Zac needs to prove he’s a quality OC”

All the gushing over Z-Rob as a new face is cool, but he better make a hell of an impression week 1

  20. SlyPirate Says:

    Stpetematt Says:

Vea, Kancey and Baine sounds like a formadable front to you?

Vea is going to be 32.
CK has never played a complete season.
Baine is a rookie. Sapp only had 3 sacks his rookie year.

    5-12

  21. Saskbucs Says:

Of course he doesn’t know what they had at WR or what was going on with Tampa last season.

He’s a Packer honk who did surface level research, just like the rest of these big market turkeys.

Pretty sure the Packers have lost 3 or 4 straight vs the Bucs.

I remember Rodgers throwing a pick early in Tampa to Jamel Dean (?) and Packers got beat handily.

Then the playoff win in GB.

Then Baker and Canales marched up and down the field in GB to beat them handily again!

No one in those first 4 games scare me. Burrow and his weapons week 1 are the biggest challenge among them.

  22. CalgaryBuc Says:

In week 4, GB may not even have Micah Parsons back…

  23. MelvinJunior Says:

Yeah. Putting it into the proper context with just how ridiculously WEAK that schedule truly was… Just Yeah. And, that included a 3-point ‘WIN’ against the CARDINALS. At HOME. Shew.

  24. bakerfan Says:

I look at the schedule and see a tough schedule, but who knows what a team will roll out opening week and each week following that.

This whole organization is on a PROVE IT TO ME, Head Coach, QB, OL, LBs, CB’s and Safeties, WR’s, Defense, Offense, Special Teams, General Manager, Conditioning, right down to the water boys.

They stunk last year, playing in Prime Time goes a long ways of building a narrative and right now RIGHTLY SO there should be a lot of doubters on the Bucs.

All the Doubters on this interweb site are correct right now until proven wrong.

  25. BPBucsfan Says:

Yes, Powell remembers who the coach of this team still is, despite all the hoopla from the draft.

  26. Colonel Angus Says:

Good, Bucs usually perform well when they fly under the radar.

  27. Stpetematt Says:

Again, we had crucial injuries last season we shouldn’t have this year. Both starting guards were out down the stretch which destroyed the team. As well as 2 starting corners getting injured by the end of the season. That put the team down to what seemed to be about 30% normal strength. Should be a totally different team this year if healthy. We were 2-0 with both starting guards.

  28. MelvinJunior Says:

@ ocala says: “Most reasonable people can see the Bucs have a very strong roster.”

According to WHAT, or from WHOM… The local media, JL!? Cause, there is NOT ONE single metric that could back this up or confirm it. How many Pro-Bowl Teams has THIS current roster produced over the past several seasons… How bout ALL-PROS!? Better yet, HOW MANY “Pro-Bowlers” has JL even drafted over the past 5+DRAFTS!? How bout ZERO. Do YOU even know just how HARD that would be to do… You’d just about have to intentionally try! What about Postseason Individual Awards!? League Leaders (other than Baker Turnovers in 2024)!? Most importantly, OUR W/L RECORD… While, residing in an all-time ‘historically’ WEAK NFC South Division. I see nothing but a BUNCH of “Smoke & Mirrors,” is ALL I SEE. You’re only lying to YOURSELF. Trust and Believe YOUR “EYES.”

  29. MelvinJunior Says:

How many Top 10-15 players at each position, do the Bucs even have on their entire ROSTER right now, outside of Tristen Wirfs, and our KICKER!?

  30. MelvinJunior Says:

I can NEVER remember a “Division” being THIS BAD for THIS LONG before. I mean, REALLLLL BADDDDD. And, it’ll be one of THE very worst again, for this season. Seriously, “8-Wins” just might WIN-IT. And, that why this FO/Ownership Group CANNOT have ‘delusions’ sitting at 2-7 or 3-6 at the Bye-Week. Smoke & Mirrors. A “LOADED” Roster cakewalks thru THIS Division.

  31. buc4evr Says:

It all starts in the trenches. If the Oline can stay healthy and the Dline can actually put pressure on the QB, this team will win the division and go to the playoffs. The offense can be top 5 and if the defense can just be in the top ten, this team will go far. Think the only real weakness is CB as far as the team goes now. Obviously, the HC/DC is mediocre. So Bowles also needs to eliminate his in game brain farts.

  32. ModHairKen Says:

Based on nothing, I will opine that they will go 17-0.

That’s as relevant and convincing as the media’s opinions.

  33. RodMunchislowIQ Says:

    CBS is Fake News!!

  34. Bojim Says:

If Mayfield stays healthy he’s one of the best.

  35. Rod Munch Says:

The Bucs are 8-4 vs the Packers at RayJay and generally play well. Even in the last game they played in Tampa in 2022, that the Packers won, the Bucs were missing all their WRs. The leading receiver was an injured Russell Gage, followed by Brate, Perriman, Cole Beasley, and even Darden made an appearance on the stat sheet. That was also the first game since GB since the Bucs beat them in the NFC Championship game – AND the refs screwed over the Bucs. All of that worked out to a 2 point win for the Packers.

Point being, the Bucs play really well vs the Packers, in particular earlier in the year when it’s still hot.

Obviously we don’t know health at this point, but if the Bucs aren’t missing half their team, they should win that game.

  36. Capebuc Says:

Don’t forget what the Eagles did after ending a season on a ~7 game losing streak in recent history…

  37. Oscar Says:

Podell really impresses me as a savvy guy with a lot of experience who’s been around the block. I’m really worried now about the Bucs prospects.

  38. Lakeland Says:

These NFL analysts are not fans of Baker Mayfield
They have zero belief in him leading an NFL team
When TB12 was the Bucs QB, these same analysts were Bucs believers
Baker has a whole lot to prove this season
More than any other player or coach

I believe the Bucs has the roster to win 12 games
But, it comes down to the play of the QB

  39. Buddha Says:

Cool it with these “experts” opinions. If they’re so smart, why aren’t they rich? Go back to this time last year and the opinions that were pumping up the fans. Who had New England and Seattle in the Super Bowl? Who had Kansas City winning six games? Who had Baltimore out of the playoffs? Who had Denver winning the AFC West? Who had Carolina winning the NFC South? A prerequisite for sharing opinions should be a photo of the wager they have made. I did have a ticket on New England to win the AFC but not until the 14th week of the season.

  40. Rod Munch Says:

There’s a really interesting article titled, 2026 NFL Schedule Rest Disparity: Teams Helped & Hurt by Warren Sharp, that breaks down how many net rest days teams end up with, and how many times they play games vs teams that got extra rest.

The Bucs are near the bottom of the middle at -2 rest days. They play 4 games were the opponents have extra rest days, while in 3 games the Bucs have an advantage (the number of rest days can be from 1 to 7, so that’s how you’re -1 one in games, but -2 in net days).

Anywho, go looked it up if you care about football and enjoy this stuff.

Of if you’re the type of person that just repeats what bumper stickers like it’s an original though, then please continue eating your crayons and pennies and don’t let me disturb you.

    ———-

Yeah! It’s about time someone said what needed to be… said.

Everyone should just shut up and sit quietly in the corner until the SB is over. Only then should people talk about what happened during the season, because before that, he didn’t know what happened. All this jibber jabber is for the birds.

    Great point!

  42. MelvinJunior Says:

@ ModHairKen Says: “Based on nothing, I will opine that they will go 17-0.

That’s as relevant and convincing as the media’s opinions.”

No, it’s not. Not even CLOSE. Especially, considering there has been only 2-TEAMS in the past 55-YEARS, who have finished the regular season UNDEFEATED. And, “The Media” is only basing it off of WHAT THEY SAW… A 2-7 Football Team (with a 3-point ‘win’ at HOME versus the CARDS), through their last 9-GAMES PLAYED. With quite possibly, THE ‘weakest’ stretch of games to end a season, and most EPIC COLLAPSE in NFL HISTORY. You though, on the other hand, are MAD. You got your ‘feelings’ hurt. So, YOU base your opinion on total complete FANTASY. Delusional.

  43. MelvinJunior Says:

@ ModHairKen – I mean, you have ZERO credibility whatsoever, after making a statement like THAT.

  44. MelvinJunior Says:

“When TB12 was the Bucs QB, these same analysts were Bucs believers.”

Hmmmmm… I wonder why!? Yeah, I wouldn’t have the first clue as to WHY they would be, or WHAT would ever cause them to think such a thing!? I know, I know… It’s just mind-blowing. GTFO

  45. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Yeah, I wouldn’t have the first clue as to WHY they would be, or WHAT would ever cause them to think such a thing!?“

Okay, I’ll state the obvious which is Brady came with a level of confidence in his play that you knew more often than not he’d make the right play. That, and the man was a maniac not just about football but perfecting his craft as a QB.

  46. MelvinJunior Says:

“Seattle in the Super Bowl? Who had Kansas City winning six games?

I had Seattle AND Denver winning the Western Divisions. Also, had Seattle going to the Super Bowl originally, UNTIL Green Bay stole Parsons and I switched it to Green Bay versus Josh Allen. Also, I had KC missing the Playoffs. I thought Stafford would NEVER make it through the season, BUT the Rams would still find a way to get into the Playoffs. The only one I friggin’ MISSED in the NFC was the Bucs and Panthers. Daniel Jones getting hurt SCREWED ME, cause the Colts were rolling, until then. This year’s AFC is already SET… Buffalo, Cincy, Baltimore, Houston, JAX, Chargers. Maybe, the winner of that Week-15 Patriots versus Kansas City Game at Arrowhead, might just determine which of those teams end up making The Playoffs… It will be HUGE. If “Danny-Dimes” is fully healthy to start the season and finishes it, then the Colts have a legit shot. I ‘mixed-it up’ a little last season and picked all three of those teams from the South (Indy, Jacksonville, & Houston), & it came awfully damn close. I’m not above doing it again, but we shall see. There’re probably going to be at least 5 (maybe 6) teams that will make the Playoffs this season, that did NOT make it last season. It’s just the way of the modem day NFL.

  47. Kenton Smith Says:

MelvinJunior. You’re telling ModHairKen he has zero credibility after making a statement like that. Hate to have to break it to you but you are in a tight competition for the least credibility of anyone who posts on this site. The good news is that you are winning that competition. Hands down.

  48. David Says:

..never know how the schedule will break each season.

  49. Kenton Smith Says:

WBL. Maybe you can get Brady back. I see Baker here, working for his teammates and community on the daily. Seems like Brady doesn’t care much for Tampa. Just my observation.

  50. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Rod Munch Says: “The Bucs are near the bottom of the middle at -2 rest days.”

I wonder what last season’s playoff teams (numbers) looked like… The teams with the most rest!? Wonder if it’s kinda like, or better than the Top-15 ‘highest’ paid Quarterbacks in the league, all making over $45-MILLION+ for the 2025 season!? Where it’s basically, still a crapshoot… With only like, 6 of the 15 actually MAKING The PLAYOFFS. Orrrr, if it turned out being a HUGE Advantage!?

  51. Hodad Says:

The Packers were more disappointing than the Bucs last year, did they forget?

  52. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Kenton Smith – Hahaha yeah, right Lmao… YOU can’t recognize sarcasm when you see it!? LoL. Hence the “GTFO.” I mean, come on… It is so obvious to EVERYONE, the reason WHY they all had faith in “TOM BRADY.” He ONLY had 20-SEASONS of actual real evidence, 10 freaking SUPER BOWLS, & a LOADED Offense littered with future HOF’ers. So, PLEASE. And, YOU… YOU literally, compare BAKER of all people to HIM. Which is just absolutely ABSURD to even mention both of THEIR NAMES in the same sentence. Also, YOU SAID, that “BAKER” is a future ‘FIRST-BALLOT’ HOF’er. Talk about credibility Lmao. So, once again… “GTFO.”

  53. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“WBL. Maybe you can get Brady back. I see Baker here, working for his teammates and community on the daily. Seems like Brady doesn’t care much for Tampa. Just my observation.“

Tom helped get the community another Lombardi and that boat parade is something Buc fans will tell their grandkids about. You think Bakers community work will be remember in that way, based off your observations?

  54. Kenton Smith Says:

WBL. Yes, I do. Especially when his career here is done. Yes. A resounding yes.

  55. mj Says:

they lost to everybody last year, until they show they can beat guys, i would never bet on the bucs, the secondary needs improvement, the only thing that could help is if our offensive line is balling hopefully zac knows how to score more points than he did in atlanta

  56. firethecannons Says:

I think we have already seen the best of Baker, no need to re-sign this player. If he is good then tag him. Do not get tied to this mediocre QB. Last year was an eye opener. He was not good not even close.

  57. MelvinJunior Says:

I used to fly with UK coaches (including Tubby Smith) on literal RECRUITING TRIPS, and for fun. When I was in my early 20’s. Born a season ticket holder… 2-tix literally ON the floor (in those foldout chairs just like the players sit on), where I could trip the players running up and down the court. Plus, 4 under the basket, 4-more in the 5th-row behind the visiting bench, and a few others scattered throughout, including 4 last row uppers, that we use for ‘pass-out’ tix to walk over to the Hyatt Bar during halftime LoL.

Also, several football tix, including a BOX/Suite. I’ve been on ALL the team trips (use to go to EVERY single one, Chicago, NY, CATlanta, Hawaii), SEC Tourney, NCAA Tournament, Sweet16/Elite-8, & Final-4. ALL OF ‘EM. All the Bowl Games. The Outback versus Penn State on New Years Day ‘99 was my ‘all-time’ favorite… We rented Jon Bon Jovi’s tour bus to take us all to the game and then my papaw had to carry me outta RayJay later on in the 4th-Qtr – I got ‘tunnel vision’ and would take a step and then clear out about 6-rows – I couldn’t see – Ybor the night before, about 10 screwdrivers on that tour bus at 9:00am sitting in Gameday traffic, & then Club Level Suites – yeah, it wasn’t pretty LoL. I/we attended EVERY University “Charity Event,” Donated just STUPID (very ignorant) amounts of $$$, and you name it.

Even though, with all those GREAT GREAT ‘Players’ and TOP TOP ‘Draft-Picks’ (some of them I even personally KNEW)… #1-overall PICKS (including Tim Couch, who I personally knew, even BEFORE he signed with UK). I can honestly say, that I have NEVER EVER ‘followed’ ANY of them to their ‘PROFESSIONAL’ Teams, like some very weird obsessed FAN-BOI. Never. Ever. Definitely, nothing like THIS, by viciously defending their EVERY MOVE. And, getting my feelings hurt, etc. Nor EVEN CARED. It’s unbelievable. And, as an ADULT!? Come On, Man. I just CAN’T right now. It makes NO SENSE. I mean, following “BAKER” from fricking OKLAHOMA!? Shew. That’s some WEIRD SH!T. VERY Weird. I mean, if YOU are not family, then that is just SO SAD. I bet YOU don’t even KNOW HIM and that he doesn’t even know that YOU exist. Or, maybe, he does… But, not in a good way!? Now, THAT is some very scary freaky stuff there.

  58. firethecannons Says:

    Podell is not lying

  59. Stpetematt Says:

In week 2, we lost our best run blocking offensive lineman (also great pass protector)for the YEAR. By the end of the season, Bredeson was out too for many games and to the end of the year. We also lost Goedeke to IR in week 2, and Wirfs was out several games early.

That’s a recipe for disaster if I’ve ever seen one.

We also were down our top 4 wide receivers for a long time and our top 2 corners at the end of the year. If anyone can’t see this team was decimated there you go. Now they’re healthy and have a nice influx of talent coming in on defense and even a couple key offensive players.

If they stay healthy, the sky is the limit.

    Last year was DET +13, MIA +11, LAR +10, SF +9, SEA +8, ARI +7, BAL +5, DAL +5, LAC +5 — Bucs were +2

    This year it is CHI +15, BUF +14, DAL +12, SEA +9, WAS +9, CAR +8, HOU +8, NE +8, ATL +7, TN +6, MIN +4

The Bucs, over the two years, end with a 0.

Amazingly enough, the Cowgirls end up as one of the top teams getting an artificial advantage by the NFL. Remarkable how that happens year after year.

  62. infomeplease Says:

New season, new hope! The Buc’s will win as many games as they truly desire less the ones the refs steal!!!!! Last year they started the season believing they could beat anyone, including Seattle and San Francisco !! And they did! At some point they lost that mental edge provoked in some part by untimely questionable ref calls or no calls and compounded by injuries! We all know how they finished!! The coaches and team captains couldn’t bring that mental edge/total belief of a W back!! IMHO almost all NFL players are the best of the best as far as physical ability goes and what separates them is their mental edge to MAKE THE PLAY when needed!! The best players rise up!
We’ll see how that goes this season. New blood at key positions and hopefully better coaching!

    813Bucboi,

You have to prove you aren’t the imbecile you sound like. Mayfield doesn’t have to prove anything. His 3rd string guards aren’t in the NFL any longer. Brady couldn’t and wouldn’t have played behind that mess last year. Baker took a lot of punishment and was clearly injured for the entire second half of the season.

Meanwhile non imbecilic fans appreciate Baker 95 TD’s in 3 years as a Buc. He did that with a team that was lacking in talent with countless injuries and salary cap woes.

  66. David Says:

To me the season all depends on the health of the O line and WRs. If they stay healthy, they should be able to put up points. I think Robinson is very good as an OC, much better than what they had last year.

The reality is, we have no idea what we have on defense. A lot of faith being put on some rookies. So, in my view, the offense will need to put up points in order to give the defense time to get better and better (hopefully).

The rabies- infected brains of the Buc’s fan cult will go into a complete mental breakdown after a 1-4 record and the hanging of Coach D.E.I of the bow of the Pirate ship. Mike Evans escaped the insanity …..and lived to tell the tale.

Hey , Nobody wants to come here , take your racism elsewhere! Joe – you have a good product. Do not let this clown damage it . Thanks .

  72. Obvious Says:

One of Todd’s strengths is that he has his team ready to play at the beginning of the season. I would not be surprised to see an opening day win in Cinci and a 3-1 start. I wild think 2-2 is probably the floor.

Not sure what team this guy has been paying attention to.

Now the rest of the season….different story.

  73. MelvinJunior Says:

Hmmmm… Interesting, Rod Munch. Especially, about the Cowboys! I think it’ll take about all they got to get to 2-2 thru those first 4-games, & 4-5 at the Bye. Anything less than that, they HAVE TO BE “Sellers” at the deadline… That 2027-Draft is waaaayyy too important to be dilly-dallying around wit trying to WIN games to save Lickt & Bowles” JOBS. Otherwise, it would be a WASTED opportunity, and detrimental to the FRANCHISE. You have to be willing to recognize it ASAP and then be prepared to MOVE ON. I mean, WHAT are we trying to do here!? We BETTER BE moving assets, clearing salary, AND claiming as much 2027 Draft Capital, as humanly possible. And, start working behind the scenes on acquiring THE ‘hottest’ young modern day “PLAY-CALLER” HC on the market (or whom no one else yet knows is ‘on the market’). You have to constantly be ON your toes, and READY to take advantage. We are currently NOT in the position to be WASTING opportunities.

  74. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Thonotosassa – No. He is free to make that argument. Especially, when he can back it up with FACTS. So, in case you don’t remember… Bruce and the entire FO down to the Owners themselves, went running to EVERY media outlet they could, in order to promote just how ‘virtuous’ THEY ALL WERE. From ESPN to “Good Morning America,” THEY all said it THEMSELVES. Bruce said it was WHY he decided to step down when he did (though, we all knew it was a lie – it was truthfully, because of BRADY). HE SAID that Black Coaches NEVER get put in a good situation, that it’s always a complete rebuild, & etc. & etc. (when, in reality, that is over 90% of the “situations” for a brand new HC regardless of WHO (or what color) they are, because MOST “good teams” DON’T FIRE THEIR COACHES). So, he can VERY easily make that argument. Because, it is literally, WHAT THEY SAID.

  75. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Thonotosassa – Whoa, My Bad… I just noticed that “hanging” part. Did not initially see that! But, the whole D.E.I. thing is still true. Not saying he wasn’t ‘qualified’ to be a HC in the league. I’m saying, that THE BUCS promoted it as being such. ?

  76. MelvinJunior Says:

Honestly, I did buy a Tim Couch Beanie Baby! LoL. I was supposed to go with my dad to the Super Bowl, but I came down with strep throat and was terribly SICK AF. It was the year of “The Greatest Show On Turf” (or whatever it was) Rams team. So, I watched it with my Mom on tv instead. Immediately following the game they switched to like a QVC style deal (remember when they use to do that?), where they were hocking NFL/Super Bowl Memorabilia to fans after the game. Long story short (I think it was after his rookie season), I bought a Rams Marshall Faulk AND a Tim Couch Beanie Baby (actually my mom did but mostly for me lol)… We bought a couple of each. Anyway, I thought it would be a very unique item to get Tim to sign!!!! So, that’s about as far as MY Tim Couch fandom ever went, & I even knew him personally! Of course, I watched his games and cheated him on, BUT I NEVER suddenly became a “Browns Fan” or commented on ANY team’s website, & etc. All those TOP Basketball Players (a few footballers)… Talkin’ NBA SUPERSTARS. And, NEVER ONCE.

I mean, I could imagine as a KID… But, NOT a player like BAKER. I mean, there’s just not much there to try to defend. Not even as a KID would we try to debate and defend (or, fall ‘in-love’ with – obsession level) a player of HIS caliber… Which, is a ‘slightly’ above average Starter in the league. I mean, it’s ABSURD. If Baker doesn’t absolutely ‘KILL-IT’ this season, he’s going to be viewed as an absolute BUST as a former #1-overall PICK. It’s just that simple. It is what it is and HE is what HE IS. I mean, as a 2nd or 3rd-ROUND PICK, you would say that he ended up carving-out for himself, a really great career. Even, as a 28th-overall pick… You would say, yeah, he’s had a pretty decent almost 10-year career for himself. BUT, once you get down to #16, #14th, or so on… It’s more like, “Meh. Needed to see A LOT more. But, you’re talking about THE #1-OVERALL PICK (former HEISMAN WINNER). As of right now this very minute, he is an absolute TOTAL BUST. Without a doubt. ? It is what it is. And, YOU would say it about ANY OTHER friggin’ QB. ?

  77. Oneilbuc Says:

Joe never mind tuff like this on his page but if you say anything about a white coach in this way he will block your comment . I guess the NFL uses D.E.I for white coaches because they can lose and still get head coaching jobs.
