Jason Licht Feels A Super Bowl Vibe From Bucs Roster

“You smell it too, Todd? I swear it’s not the burritos and pale ale I had last night.”
Jason Licht didn’t say on Wednesday that the Bucs will be in Los Angeles in February playing for a Super Bowl crown. But if the Bucs are in the Super Bowl in the near future, Licht said he would not be shocked.
Licht explained the Bucs roster has a vibe about it that reminds him of past Super Bowl teams he’s been around. So, if he and his staff ace the draft next week, Licht will be even more looking forward to OTAs beginning the 2026 NFL cycle.
“I really do like this roster,” Licht said. “I think this draft is important. I think the next few drafts are important. Well, every draft is important.
“I think I’ve been around several Super Bowl teams, most recently here, obviously [and] I see it starting to really come to form. And you don’t really fully see it until — first of all the players all have to be here — and then you have to get through training camp, and then sometimes you hit a stride at some point during the season, early season, where you start to see it. It can be the same team, but it can be a different dynamic.
“I really feel strongly about this group of guys that we have and the leadership that we have, starting with the quarterback.”
Licht loves to raise the confidence level of his players through the media, like yesterday when he cited Bucky Irving as a leader — WHAT??? That was a very clear “Bucky, I’ve got your back” move by Licht.
Some outrageous things Licht says (Chris Braswell will shock people) are messages to player, and he doesn’t care how they are perceived in the court of public opinion. Licht only hopes it helps a player or two on his roster.
Super Bowl vibe? Well, Licht is around his team a whole lot more than Joe. But unless this Bucs defense dramatically improves, the only vibe Joe gets from the Bucs defense is the kind you have before you sprint to the bathroom after eating too much buttered popcorn at the movies.

The Bucs are capable of being a SB team if they draft more Big Guys on DLine and Oline with their early picks.
If they follow the media recommendations – TE, CB … and depend on late rounds for Line Depth – they will suck again.

The Bucs have more problems than the defense
The offense ranks in the lower end of the NFL also
Especially averaging a measly 16.8 ppg during the last 7 games
The focus should be on improving the team, not just the defense

I’ve been a JL supporter because I think he’s a legitimately solid gm, but these comments are not the comments of someone that’s secure. They’re a reflective of someone that’s feeling pressure.
Just lay up and say you like the roster.

Holes at LB, Edge Rusher, CB, Defensive Coordinator and Head Coach will SINK any chance this team has
Licht has been here well over 10 years and this roster has too many holes for a GM as tenured as him.

“Super Bowl vibe?” Start at the top and go no further. Does Todd Bowles really strike anyone as a leader of men? A coach that can will and coach a team to the Superbowl. The answer is a resounding no.

Ohhh ffs not this bs again. PR and JBF tried to sell us on the Bucs “Superbowl roster” before last season and how did that turn out? Yes, the team that lost in the first round to a rookie with a defense that didn’t force a punt and QB with the most turnovers at his position. That Bucs team added Ebuka and Reddick and was suddenly marketed as a Superbowl team. Right…and as the 2025 team got healthier down the stretch after the bye, they lost more games.
Meanwhile, the GM and HC can’t specifically say what has improved about the team. But they’ll be dangerous, right? The same people that made the important decisions last season are back this season but somehow there will be different results. Losing permeates this organization and team and until the GM, HC and QB are replaced with better humans then expect more of the same. This isn’t being negative, this is being logical.

What a JOKE. What an unserious CLOWN. Not even a complete roster yet. Not even the first draft pick yet. Not even the FIRST ‘PRACTICE’ yet. And, this complete MORON is talking about the SUPER BOWL “VIBES” he’s getting, that reminds HIM of past Super Bowl TEAMS. I mean, just THIS ROSTER ALONE, is nowhere even CLOSE. So, just GTFO CLOWN. We obviously don’t have a TOP-20 Running-Back Room. And, IF you’re relying on CHRIS GODWIN to be completely healthy and back to being “CHRIS GODWIN” again, while giving us even a TOP-20 Wide-Receiver Room, then that’s an awfully BIG “IF.” And, it’s been a loooong time since we’ve seen BAKER being a TOP-20 Quarterback to boot.
