Trey Hendrickson Weighing Wide Interest, Offers

March 10th, 2026

Is Bradley Chubb behind Door No. 2?

So NFL super insider Adam Schefter updated the status of free agent edge rusher Trey Hendrickson shortly after 1 p.m. today.

Schefter took to ESPN TV to say Hendrickson has not gotten the money offer he’s seeking and he is actively talking to many teams.

Sadly, Schefter didn’t mention the Buccaneers. But he did reference the Cowboys and Eagles. Joe has seen social media chatter that the Bucs have talked to Hendrickson, as have the Jaguars. Hendrickson lives outside of Jacksonville and Schefter said last week that he would love to stay in Florida.

The Bucs desperately need edge rush help.

Hendrickson will be expensive and he’s coming off hernia/abdominal surgery at 31 years old. Bradley Chubb, 29, who was healthy all last season with 8 1/2 sacks, remains on the market and, man, the Bucs could sure use the 2025 Dolphins captain.

Joey Bosa, 31, also is on the street after 5 sacks in 15 games with the Bills last season. Joe is leery of Patriots free agent K’Lavon Chaisson. The 2020 first-round pick needed six years and three teams to finally have a good season.

If not Hendrickson why not Chubb? Licht always says he and the Bucs are disrespected, this is why they are. Glaring weaknesses and he wants to solve it with a 6th and 7th round picks. Strikes out on Edges out of college, pay a little more and get someone proven.

  2. gbobucsfan Says:

Yes, please, to all of them.

  3. Nick2 Says:

Joey Bosa is an injury waiting to happen if he is the one we end up signing, Jason light needs to have his head examined.

  4. Bradinator Says:

    Chubb is a good buy.

  5. Ash Says:

Hendrickson doesn’t play the run well he was never coming here with Todd they should have already signed Bradley when they knew Mike Evans was out the door.

  6. Confido75 Says:

Hendrickson has his choice of suitors and the Glazers and JL want to avoid big contracts. I don’t see him coming to Tampa. Best to shore up the D-Line with above average veteran players who consistently deliver and will mentor and hold the young guys accountable.

  7. DailyRich Says:

Starting to wonder if Hendrickson is going to be one of those guys who starts coasting once he gets paid.

  8. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

He doesn’t want to pass cover RBs on wheel routes 30 yards down field

  9. 813bucboi Says:

JL will draft a DE in the 2nd round and he’ll sign a DE/OLB after final cuts lol

    we’re not signing anyone folks….

Hendrickson, Bosa, Chubb, Greenard unfortunately aint coming to tampa…

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  10. Bee Says:

The Bucs aren’t getting Trey, let it go Joe. Lol…the only splash the Bucs made is re-signing Otton. Absolutely pathetic. The team is run by complete losers and the media isnt far behind with how they gaslit fans last year with “Superbowl roster”. What a joke this team is.

  11. Nick2 Says:

That “raise the flags”documentary now looks like an aberration with the glazers keeping such tight purse strings. The theme of all about winning is out the window.

  12. LynchMob50 Says:

There’s zero reason to get Hendrickson.

Glazer kids are trying to save money for a new stadium.

And their hand picked DC can’t coach a defense to stop a wet fart.

    #NoPlayoffs

  13. MelvinJunior Says:

All 3 of those make PERFECT sense. Cowboys, Eagles, & JAGS.

  14. adam from ny Says:

bosa mixed in w/ anzalone is kind of interesting if he comes reasonably priced…

chubb had like half his sacks last year in one game…and like 4 or 5 the rest of the year…or was that clowney…i forget…i think it was clowney actually…

hendrickson’s best years are def behind him following nutt surgery…but if reasonably priced (which he’s not), grab him by the biscuits !

  15. MelvinJunior Says:

💯 💯 Nothing more true than this. Wonder what straight up BS GARBAGE that T-Krass is spinning up right now Lmfao. I might just take a listen today LoL. I could use a little comedy right now.

  16. Badbucs Says:

Vonn Miller here we come. Chaisson is exactly the type JL likes when bargain hunting. This is so sad to watch. So many good players passed over by our FO. We plan to fail. We should have signed at least 3 more guys by now we let other teams pick up. Dean, Bush, Lloyd, etc. None were too expensive. Too much time wasted chasing our tail for Mike. They had to know he wasn’t coming back. Ship of fools.

  17. MelvinJunior Says:

813bucboi Says: “JL will draft a DE in the 2nd round and he’ll sign a DE/OLB after final cuts lol

Yep. WHY would they!? The Bucs would be forced to have to overpay. And, we already KNOW that sure as hell, AIN’T happening.

  18. Lakeland Says:

Where will the Bucs get the money from to sign these guys?

This is not the NBA, there’s no luxury tax in the NFL
The Bucs don’t have the cap space for these contracts

  19. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Who would any FA want to come here after watching Evans leave? Why did Mike leave – because he knows this teams is a dumpster fire going nowhere fast. I’m not sure the 2 FA we did sign would have come here if Mike had already left. It’s a huge red flag, as is “guru” Bowles and the entire staff. We went from 6-2 to utter jokes.

“There is nothing more we can do as coaches”. Todd Bowles

    3-28

Very hard to stomach this crap show.

  20. Ufc Says:

Fire Jason rn. Im over it.

  21. BuccaDAWG Says:

Quickly go south & grab Chubb . Offer Bosa too but get one of them, don’t keep low-balling & get us a actual Edge Rusher NOW!!! Quit looking for bargin basement guys . Keeping Bowles has already cost the Bucs a couple of players. Glaziers, forget about your soccer team & fix the Bucs NOW!!! Ya’ll have already thumbed your noses at the fan base by keeping a out of touch HC who lost the confidence of his defense last yr. WALK THRUS after bye week, WTH Bowles hire a Defensive Cordinator, you promised or were you just BSing anyway even if I’m getting tired of this HC & several front office people i still support the BUCCANEERS 100% GO BUCS!!!! Even if it means keeping Bowles

  22. John Mason Says:

Looks like Jason L. is sitting on his hand again….he needs to be run out of town
if he can not sign a top edge rusher.

  23. Badbucs Says:

    Melvin
JL loves to overpay. He just doesn’t like FA’s. They don’t prove he’s a genius.

  24. Jmarkbuc Says:

“ Glazer kids are trying to save money for a new stadium.”

You don’t think the Glazers would actually pay for their own stadium do you?

  25. Wayne perez Says:

74 buc Evans left because he’s a baby and I wish him all the bad luck

  26. IB Says:

He needs to be but of course we won’t have any money- busy signing Cade Otton for10 mil per year.SMH

  27. Lakeland Says:

The best the Bucs can do is to restructure some contracts

And take the hit next season

  28. DS Says:

Licht should be on the hot seat too imo he is in love with his draft picks he never took a big swing for a team that was ready to win. Blow it up

  29. Reality Says:

Clamoring religiously, relentlessly and ad nauseam about a need for pass rush (and rightfully so), but then mentioning a north of 31 year old about to be on his 3rd team in 3 seasons and hasn’t totaled more than 6.5 sacks in any season in the last 4 is pretty funny

Not even meaning that to be mean, but just a funny observation. I expect better from the leaders of the “we need pass rush” movement in Tampa. That’s all.

74 buc Evans left because he’s a baby and I wish him all the bad luck

    —————
Imo – Evans wants another SB ring or two and knows the Bucs are not even trying at this point. Keeping Bowles cost us Evans and likely some top FAs.

I wish Mike nothing but the best and hope he gets his rings, since our Bucs will already be on vacation come playoffs for years to come.

  31. BucsFan28 Says:

Chubb would be a solid pickup

  32. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Chubb would be a solid pickup? LMAO! Maybe for the Falcons, Panthers, Saints and everyone else we play this year.

  33. LynchMob50 Says:

Licht preparing to draft a kicker in round 1.

  34. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Very unusual. I can’t remember another offseason under Jason Licht where we haven’t heard about at least one contract restructure heading into free agency.

  35. Ash Says:

Guys guys they have a process and it’s very effective Jason said so himself just remember what he said about braswell with result like that you have to just trust the process.

  36. Colonel Angus Says:

Get Bosa, Chubb and draft one. But we’ll up rummaging the bargain bin most likely.

  37. 813bucboi Says:

THE LACK OF URGENCY from the front office is EMBARRASSING!!!!!….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  38. Reality Says:

Bradley Chubb would be a great option though if what’s out there. Outside of his talent, there are several things rubbing me wrong about Hendrickson and I’m not just talking about his self-introduced and inflated price tag.

Chubb would be solid. I think we’d see solid returns on that signing if he stays healthy.

  39. Big_Buc$ Says:

Sign Chubb or Bosa and draft another DE and DL.

  40. Pewter Power Says:

😂😂😂 if it’s not resigning his own, the Licht has ever spent on an edge rusher was last year for that washed up guy. 😂 people actually trust him to go out show some balls and spend big on someone proven? Doing it to sign Brady yea anyone in the league can do that.

  41. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Cont…

Because if he did, we could realistically bring in both:
    *K’Lavon Chaisson
    *Bradley Chubb

And roll into the season with a strong three-man EDGE rotation alongside Yaya Diaby.

  42. Ash Says:

But can they cover bucs need an olb that’s plays like a cornerback you guys don’t get the scheme either this scheme has even the fans confused Todd said it’s simple you guys really need to get it together.

  43. Brevard Buc Says:

I wouldn’t expect much. Why spend a boat load on free agents when you’ll be hiring an all new coaching staff next year and possibly front office. I’m sure the Glazers’ have tightened the purse strings for more flexibility for the new coaching staff in 2027.

  44. BucsFan81 Says:

Chubb would be cheaper with more upside but I doubt they sign anyone they are tanking and in full rebuild mode.

    ******************************************************

i could get behind this IF we traded for Jeffrey Simmons to play next to Vita and kick CK94 outside to edge on 1st & 2nd down….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  46. LynchMob50 Says:

If ME13 gets hurt this coming season and misses significant time, the Joe’s and Ira will sing the praises of Licht and the Glazer kids.

    You heard it here first.

And no matter what Bowles does they will continue to run interference for him.

This is a cult of personality.

  47. Proudbucfan Says:

They should fire Todd bowles’ and Jason licht for letting Mike Evans walk out the door he’s going to the 49ers, there he’s gonna have three 1000 yard seasons and Tie Jerry Rice for most 1000 yard seasons by an NFL player. The owners of this team and the front office don’t want to win. They like to sit on their hands and watch opportunities pass them up. Remember what I’m saying the Bucs are going to have a 6-11 season.

  48. Todd Says:

Why not just go up and get Arvell Reese or Sonny Styles if you want a meaningful addition at the right price for years to come. Jason screwed us all on the Evans deal, so how about a step out of your FREAKING COMFORT ZONE for once. Make no mistake Licht that your fate and Bowles are intertwined, one more year like last year and you are gone.

  49. Ballwasher61 Says:

    Resign Reddick. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  50. Lakeland Says:

Jason Licht expecting huge production from his solid draft picks

    Yaya
    Braswell
    Roberts
    Vea
    Kancey

  51. Hopes on 2027 Says:

I’m leery of edge rushers that old.

Especially injured ones, with decreasing stats.

  52. ElioT Says:

    Apathy

  53. Mort Says:

Hendrickson or Chubb would sure make the bitter pill of losing Mike go down a tiny bit better. So, it’ll never happen lol

  54. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Been saying Bradley Chubbcall along.

  55. Jw94buc Says:

This feels like an old school Bucs offseason. I thought those days were behind us for a while. Back to misery.

  56. Stu Says:

    Bucs gonna Buc

  57. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    813bucboi

Once Tennessee hired Robert Saleh, I pretty much gave up on the idea they’d move Jeffery Simmons 😔.

  58. MelvinJunior Says:

I’m OUT. I don’t want this current dumpster-fire of a regime to invest another single DIME towards this upcoming season. I can’t see WHY anyone else would either!? I want to see EVERY available asset with any value whatsoever, MOVED at this season’s deadline, for 2027 Draft-Capital. I want our Salary Cap and Dead Cap lookin CLEAN AF for the next group of top-tier level, modern-day HC’s and GM’s. Now, THAT’S the only thing I’m ‘IN’ on.

  59. Fanofdabucs Says:

Chubb would be a solid signing that would be much less than Hendrickson.

All these idiots whining about the lack of signings talk out of both sides or their mouths. These same people give JL flack for signing Reddick last year, but most where happy he made a “splash” signing last year

FA has gotten out of control with some of these deals.

Alec Pierce is the highest paid WR in history of football? Really?? Pierce..hilarious

Jalen Philips got 120 million from Carolina?? He’s never had double digit sacks in his career.

Romeo Doubs get 4yrs 80 million?? Hes never had more than 59 catches in his career. Cade Otton had back to back seasons with 59 catches, which would be Doubs best season.

So while all the Madden playing kids wanted the Bucs to go out and spend money, the FA class wasn’t very good and these bloated contracts are laughable.

  60. Been there since the beginning Says:

I didn’t think Tre was coming anyway, But I Hoped!!! People get tired of things in a relationship and get divorced. I guess that after the Superbowl those papers were filed as well at the old Tampa Bay Center Buc Place.

  61. Erik with UniqueModernArt.com Says:

Another losing record is behind Door #1.

We won’t win anything significant especially not the Superbowl with Bowles at HC.

    That’s why Evans left.

  62. Usfbucs Says:

I know we are only in day two and things could still happen but maybe we are setting up for a full reboot after this season. If they don’t spend their full cap they get to roll it over into next year which makes sense if you already know you are cleaning house. The new HC has more money to bring in players who fit his offense and defense.

If they restructured everyone this year that they can they get huge cap space this year but then only have $70M next season. If they wait to restructure players until next year then they wind up with $166M in cap space for next season and still have a projected $193M for 2028. With tv rights deals coming up in 2030 spending a boatload on contracts for multiple years next year or in 2028 make more sense because they will be a drop in the bucket come 2030.

  63. Hodad Says:

We’d be better off trading a player like Winfield than adding years to his already bloated contract. Same with Vea, and I’d trade Wirfs for a king’s ransom. Big man on a bad knee who already got his bag. Trade him, his value will never be higher.

  64. Tired Says:

So that’s it? Bring back Otton, sign a mid 30s LB to replace our old mid 30s LB, find a 3rd down back, and we’re good to go? To say I’m a little underwhelmed would be generous.

  65. DS Says:

I wouldn’t mind off loading guys on the current roster Winfield
Wirfs for haul Vea for 3rd or 4th ain’t
    Bad

  66. Pickgrin Says:

Chubb wants $30M – Hendrickson wants $35M (allegedly)

Nobody will pay that – but that’s what those players started off asking for…..

All the people bashing the GM because he didn’t “go get” an older, yet still perceived higher end pass rusher from a crappy free agency class – seem to have little or no idea about finances and how the salary cap limits teams from just spending however much they want…..

  67. Bucscoott Says:

Did we sign a backup qb yet?

  68. Teacherman Says:

Chubb is a mercenary. He only cares about money.

Aldon Smith hustled us. Then Hassan Reddick. Braswell is now our loafer at OLB.

The OLB from the Seahawks, Mafe was a 1st round pick.

    He ran a 4.35 at 255 pounds.

We lost him to the Bengals. They signed him for 3 years. 60 million.

Can you imagine an OLB who runs a sub 4.4? A former first round pick? A Super Bowl Champ?

We really missed a rare gem with Boye Mafe.

But thankfully we resigned Otton for 10 million per year. Smh.

  69. Winny Testaverde Says:

It’s like being at CarMax…some decent prospects but every one of them have something negative on their CarFax report.

  70. Will Says:

Try to get an edge rusher in the draft, move up or back loose or gain picks to get a good one Bowels and Licht.

  71. MelvinJunior Says:

I’m listening to THIS straight up GARBAGE on the new WDAE/95.7. I mean, HOW EMBARRASSING. It’s a JOKE. This Carmen person seriously just said, that the BUCS are heading in the “RIGHT” direction, and that JL is soooo good in the draft (even though he hasn’t DRAFTED not a single Pro-Bowler in the last FIVE DRAFTS – very hard thing to do). Total, complete HOGWASH. And, T-Krass never ‘pushed back’ NOT EVEN ONCE. It’s Pathetic. He does it all the time, regardless of WHO it is. You can just book-it and take it to the bank. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. These local guys are NOTHING but Bucs FO propaganda pushers. 💯 T-Krass is nothing but a TOOL. A pawn of the Glazers and LICKT. I mean, HE’S STILLLL, BLOWING JL. It’s TRASH. Unbelievable. I guess, they CAN’T get some people in there with some FREAKING BALLS!? It’s just all a JOKE. Pathetic. It’s not even worth listening to anymore, if the only thing they’re going to continue to do is just carrying water for the entire organization.

  72. Oxycondomns Says:

All these potential important defensive players will be all over 30 reminds me of Gruden or was it Gruden? Was his gm also forced to bargain hunt?
