The nerve to suggest mouthy Cam Jordan sign with Bucs!
Joe didn’t touch the following item because Joe thought it was initially a prank by a disgruntled BSPN employee already out the door, giving the Mouse House the finger in his final act as an employee.
But nope, it actually happened. And it comes from a respected guy Joe thought was better than this.
This is a perfect example of a talking head and former NFL suit mailing it in, pretending to be an authority.
Former Jets and Dolphins shot-caller Mike Tannenbaum had quite possibly the most ill-informed take Joe has seen from four-letter in some time. That’s saying a lot.
Tannenbaum said on live TV for all of America to hear that the Bucs need to sign free agent edge rusher Cam Jordan.
Yeah, THAT Cam Jordan. The very same guy who has a very public boner for the Bucs, who never passes on a chance to slam Tampa Bay. Recently, when asked about All-Pro tackle Tristan Wirfs’ ability, Jordan dismissed Wirfs as a talented athlete, saying he’s just fat.
Yeah, the very same Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Light, who tees off on Jordan on social media every time the Bucs beat the slimy Saints, is gonna sign Jordan? Sure, that same guy is going to grovel to mouthy Jordan and beg him to play here. Right.
What is Tannenbaum drinking? And where are the BSPN producers to notice these scripts in production meetings and say, “Whoa, wait a minute, this take makes us look like total idiots.”
(To think this same crowd now owns and operates NFL Network. Lord help us.)
“They know him,” Tannenbaum crowed why the Bucs would want Jordan.
EXACTLY! The Bucs know Jordan. That is why this idea doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell.
The Cartoon Network has more legitimate programming.
This take proves that the fools at the four-letter don’t pay any attention to the league outside of maybe six teams. Maybe. Anyone with a pulse who has followed the Bucs and/or slimy Saints knows the Bucs signing Jordan is moronic.
The only sensible way Joe could see the Bucs inviting Jordan into their locker room is with the full and only purpose of pulling the soap scene routine on Jordan, like what the Marines in boot camp did to Private Pyle in “Full Metal Jacket.”
Do your research, you flipping idiots! These people have no shame.
The only thing Joe can say positively about this short piece is that Laura Rutledge looked good.

Dude is going to be a bust for whoever signs him. Like many, he suddenly had a burst of productivity in his contract’s final year, following up 2-sack and 4-sack years with a sudden burst – 10.5 sacks.
Watch, Kyle Pitts will crawl back into his shell now that he’s been tagged. You only have to see how much better Rachaad White’s numbers were last year to know that looming free agency suddenly motivates players to give it their all (witness Antoine Winfield).

Both networks are just as guilty in slobbering over all teams northeast, the chiefs, and the cowboys. Both readily dispense with interesting programming in the name of ratings. They belong under the same roof now because they’re indistinguishable. Is it too much to ask on Sunday morning to have a show that previews each match up, what’s at stake for the two teams, key injuries, player happenings on each team, interesting history between them, the weather in the game, etc? No, we can’t do that, we have to watch one boring prediction after another, stunts like howling at the camera when someone’s boring prediction is unlike the others, 10-minute produced pieces on a single player’s childhood, mindless prattle about the pro bowl, blah blah blah blah. I swear someone could make a killing producing just a single show for people who actually care about football.

Well admit when I saw Jordon was a FA, I said well would the Bucs sign him, lol, ah no. Likewise , yes I am sure he would not come here unless the Bucs were the only team who made him an offer. However, you have to admit it would be funny. Imagine him at practice!!. Who knows maybe he and Wirfs become the best of friends. Upon signing with the Bucs Baker and the offensive line take him out for dinner , show him the town. Well Joe, who would you rather see opposite YA YA next year Braswell, or Jordon

Like dont like, Jordan has had a good career we would have loved to have his stats on our team.
I root for him when wr aint playing the Saints, and they are playing NFC South teams.
He is far to long in the tooth, but I wonder if he has any coaching aspirations.

Bowles does not deserve getting fired when his team the last 2 years has been decimated by injuries. He’s a very knowledgeable coach. In fact, few defensive coaches are more knowledgeable than he is. We need more talent on defense, and hopefully we can find a few gems with potential in free agency. The list of DE/Edges and ILB’s is actually pretty good. Other positions not so much…

“Fluff” as you may call it, is why this site is successful. This is nothing different that what Joe has done ever since this site was launched in 2008.
Joe has linked the free agent lists and free agent trackers several times before in “Morning Cup Of Joe” stories. You can easily find many with a simple Google search.
As far as salary lists, Joe finds them incredibly boring. If a team wants a player they will find a way to pay them (see: Bucs 2021). And as far as the salary cap, it always goes up short of a worldwide pandemic. What’s expensive today is a cheap buy tomorrow. There is no such thing as “not worth it.” If a player brings value, he’s worth it.
