If Logan Hall Balls Out In Houston…
March 24th, 2026Two things jumped out at Joe with Logan Hall speaking for the time as a member of the Texans.
(Memo to Cal McNair and Amy Adams Strunk, owners of the Texans and Titans, respectively: Quit jerking people around like the peasants you think they are. McNair, break out your checkbook. Struck, sell the Oilers name to McNair and do what is right for football fans across the nation. Enough of these vapid, empty corporate names like the Texans. The good people of Houston deserve to have the Oilers back. The Texans will never be anything more than a distraction. The good people of South Texas loved the Oilers. Best Struck can do is sell the name back to McNair since her old man ripped the Oilers away from Houston. And Struck, your Oilers jerseys being worn by the Titans now is nothing more than a troll job. Stop it now and do the right thing for the NFL!)
The first was Hall, a 2022 second-round pick of the Bucs, using the word “monotony” when talking about how avoiding it was an exciting aspect of joining the Texans.
So now Joe assumes two defensive starters were bored last year: Zyon McCollum and Hall. That is not a good sign in any way.
The other was Hall’s comment that Demeco Ryans’ defensive line coach told Hall he could be developed more.
Hhhmmm?
Now why would an NFL defensive coach tell Hall that, a member of one of the best defensive staffs in the NFL? This coach, Rod Wright, thinks Hall could be developed more. And apparently, this notion helped lure Hall across the Gulf of Mexico.
Holy Flirkingschmidt! What does that say about what other coaches think about what’s going on in Tampa — or not going on? Or even what Hall himself thinks.
This on top of Mike Evans and Jamel Dean beleiving their new teams are their best chances to win another ring.
My, what ringing endorsements those are for Bucs coach Todd Bowles.
If Hall becomes anything close to a force in Houston, Joe knows that won’t look very good for the Bucs’ current defensive coordinator. Not good whatsoever. But if Hall becomes invisible and his replacement A’Shawn Robinson shines in Tampa, that’s a win for the Bucs.
Sadly, Joe has more trust and faith in Ryans than Bowles.

I’m getting custom jerseys for myself and my daughter. She will #3 and I will wear #28. And of course the back will say FIRE BOWLES.
I just don’t understand why this guy is our HC. Either Jason Licht is just as blind or The Glazer Kids really don’t care about winning.
March 24th, 2026 at 7:11 am
Todd the Terrible.
Apathy
March 24th, 2026 at 7:16 am
if Lavonte decides not to play this year it will be the final judgment of TB players that the team is in trouble and can’t succeed – Lavonte would know better than anyone
March 24th, 2026 at 7:23 am
Gulf of America, there fixed it for ya Joe lol
March 24th, 2026 at 7:24 am
Come on Joe, it is the Gulf of America now.
March 24th, 2026 at 7:28 am
I kept saying the team probably gave up on him. Maybe that be part of the reason McCollum was getting “bored “
March 24th, 2026 at 7:29 am
On the contrary, Lavonte said if Bowles were fired he would retire instantly. He holds the guy in high esteem.
March 24th, 2026 at 7:34 am
Hall is barely in the top half of D linemen performance wise, if he balls out down that would be a tell
March 24th, 2026 at 7:36 am
Nothing wrong with Texans. There was a team in the AFL? called the Dallas Texans at one point. Plus, I think they have one of the better helmets in the league.
Regarding Hall, do you really think that could happen? Do you really think “development” was holding him back? Of course they’re going to tell him that. That’s what salesmen do. If he plays a little better it’s most likely because he will have better guys around him (and better play calls). He’s a role player and that’s all.
March 24th, 2026 at 7:38 am
Dang Joe!! You’re pretty passionate about that whole Titans – Texans – Oilers thing! Good for you!! I 100% agree with you!
March 24th, 2026 at 7:40 am
I’m not sure why the Texans got him, aside from practice squad placement, or depth? That team is absolutely stacked on Defense, and is projected to draft a d lineman round 1 to replace edwards. I don’t think Hall sees a lot field time in 2026.
March 24th, 2026 at 7:40 am
Players said Bowles was a good coach but you then have Evans, Dean and now Hall say or do things that imply Bowles isn’t good but maybe was liked by them. In the military you wanted a leader who would win the fight and get you home more than one you just liked. Just more evidence that Bowles isn’t the guy to win the SB.
March 24th, 2026 at 7:40 am
Sorry, guys, Joes is right. It is the Gulf of Mexico. And if Hall steps up his game, it will definitely be an indictment of bowles. He could lay the blame on his position coaches. But it all starts at the top
March 24th, 2026 at 7:41 am
It’s pathetic that my posts do not get posted. Isn’t the comment section the whole point of venting about this sorry ass team and Todd Toilet Bowels. I hope all the players that walked ball out this season and have the best season of their career just to further prove that Toilet Bowels is the biggest piece of garbage coaching in the NFL
March 24th, 2026 at 7:43 am
It’s the GULF OF AMERICA you would think being that close to it you wouldn’t make that mistake but then again by you saying it says so much more
March 24th, 2026 at 7:51 am
I always saw Hall as a defensive end in a 4-3 defense, and not a tackle. Maybe he’ll be used more appropriately in Houston. They seem to have a coach who knows defense and how to use players to their maximum potential.
March 24th, 2026 at 7:52 am
It isn’t- and never will be the Gulf of America. Complete nonsense. They should rename the Persian Gulf the Gulf of America since the people there own our government.
Oilers was and is a ridiculous football team name.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:07 am
Joe, you are venturing into the ‘pathetic’ area now and it is quite actually sad. People talk about the lost decade, this is going to be the time era you look back on in a few years and go ‘did i really act like that?’ you are acting like it’s your first break up in middle school.
So to recruit a guy they use the ‘we can develope you you more’ pitch and you go right to ‘another NFL coach took a dig at Bowels!’ You are better than that.
What were they going to say? ‘Hey Logan, you are a middle of the pack DL, slightly better than middle maybe but you were a relatively high draft pick and being the you played college ball in Houston we will get a little discount so you are not that expensive comparably. You should be better than you are currently so we will sign you to a short term deal and if you don’t get better then it was nice knowing you’?
it the nature of the business. How many high(er) draft picks don’t pan out across the NFL and then get signed by their next team with that team going ‘we think we can get more out of him’?
March 24th, 2026 at 8:26 am
What other team would not sign a player from another team thinking they could develop them more? I swear this site has become a site that just focuses on the negative.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:26 am
Do we really need for Hall to ball out to know Bowles isn’t doing his job? Have you seen the defense the last 2 years? Have you seen the defensive players quitting? We already know about Bowles.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:27 am
What’s the coach going to say to a 25 yr old?
“You’re pretty much maxed out and we won’t be able to develop you anymore than you already are”????
Now, if Hall goes there and turns into a 7-10 sack guy, then it speaks volumes for what many in here already thought.
Bowles isn’t good at putting players in positions to succeed. He is stubborn and delusional about his scheme. It also tells me JL is at the mercy of Bowles when it comes to drafting defensive players and signing FAs.
JL can only shop from the grocery list and hand those ingredients to the chef. It’s up to the HC/DC to develop them and maximize their talents.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:28 am
Bowles will always have a run-first defense, so he had Hall playing two-gap to stop the run. Consequently Hall had very few sacks. The Texans promised Hall more one-gap plays with a better chance for sacks.
A’Shawn will be better than Hall, but not by much. He’s not a pass rusher. There are some great quick DT’s available with styles like Kancey. I hope Licht picks one up this draft, for the new head coach in 2027.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:29 am
Gulf of America Joe !
March 24th, 2026 at 8:31 am
yaya is still here, but he sort of suggested some stuff as well, if you think about it properly
March 24th, 2026 at 8:36 am
It’s not going to mean anything IMO. That defense is so good that it will make anyone look better than what they are, not trying to throw shade on hall but it’s the truth.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:38 am
Come on Glaziers, pay some attention to BucsNation HIRE A DEFENSIVE CORDINATOR & INSTALL A BETTER DEFENSIVE SCHEME, the way we are doing things is antiquated & not in keeping with the advancement of the offensive play callers. You can keep your over paid mistake HC & save face at the same time!!!!
March 24th, 2026 at 8:38 am
Lol. If If If.. SMB, mike edwards, whitehead, tryon shoyinka, any of these guys still in the league?
March 24th, 2026 at 8:41 am
If Logan Hall had so much potential that the Bucs fail to unlock
He wouldn’t be in Houston competing for a backup roster spot
He would be a high paid free agent high on the depth chart
A’Shawn Robinson is a huge upgrade over Hall
March 24th, 2026 at 8:42 am
Always thought Hall’s body type was more of a DE in a 4-3
Bowles had him put on weight and he slowed down.
Then Bowles wanted him to drop into pass coverage as a slower and heavier guy.
Round hole – square peg…… over and over.
While I’m Luke-warm on Licht finally recognizing we need linebackers and D lineman, signing a bunch of 30 something guys on 1 year deals doesn’t make me do cartwheels.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:44 am
Lived here my entire life. It will always be the Gulf of Mexico and some temporary politician does not get to rename it. Period. Hall is more of a DE and he was not used correctly by Bowles, so yes he will ball out in Houston and stubborn Bowles will lose his job next season. My wish is that cheap azz hypemaster, gaslighting Licht goes with him. Both are no longer a good fit for this team. One more season of fan torture.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:46 am
Ryan Jensen signs the one day contract to retire as a Buc. He must not realize how pathetic we are, right?
March 24th, 2026 at 8:47 am
Hall had 4 years / 64 games to show his talent. Never happened, what’s the team supposed to do?
Next man up
March 24th, 2026 at 8:48 am
That’s the main problem with the Bucs players
They are iffy players, if, if if, that’s why they had the meltdown last season
The Bucs should shift from iffy players to actual studs
I’m tired of all the question marks going into the season
Like l always say, they have more??? than a episode of Jeopardy
March 24th, 2026 at 9:01 am
Logan Who.
March 24th, 2026 at 9:10 am
The 2026 season is gonna be tough.
March 24th, 2026 at 9:27 am
I honestly hope they use Hall as a DE. I agree with many on here who say he fits better in that position. Square peg, round hole, is a bowles trademark (Vita dropping into coverage?). And Gulf of America? Dept of War? It takes an act of congress to change these names. Like my dad always said, you can’t fix stupid.
March 24th, 2026 at 9:27 am
I’m quite sure no one was asking IF Sapp is good with the Raiders
If Bennett is good with the Seahawks
If Lynch is good with the Broncos
If Talib is good with the Patriots
This garbage we have is full of ifs
March 24th, 2026 at 9:29 am
Joe Tryon didn’t do anything after he left the Bucs, so I doubt Hall is gonna make an impact. These guys can’t play, simple as that.
March 24th, 2026 at 9:35 am
It’s the Gulf of Orangiztan.
March 24th, 2026 at 9:40 am
None of Jason Licht draft picks have left Tampa and made All-Pro or Pro Bowl
They have went to a loaded team and played ok
But none of them has set the league on fire
They were the exact same player, they were in Tampa
A good Role player
March 24th, 2026 at 9:40 am
Bowles sucks
March 24th, 2026 at 9:55 am
Iffy players is what you get when your ego overrides your logic. JL always has to show what a genius he thinks he is. He won’t pick the proven player. Hall, JTS are perfect examples of how he outsmarts himself. Inexcusable reaches that high in the draft. No pro Bowl players picked the last 5 years. ROH GM? Hardly.
March 24th, 2026 at 9:57 am
Feel free to list how the Bucs could have developed Tom Brady more when they signed him.
Or Antonio Brown.
Or Ndamukong Suh.
Or Rob Gronkowski. (Yes, they pulled him out of mothballs and traded for him.)
March 24th, 2026 at 10:03 am
Lakeland … ‘A’Shawn Robinson is a huge upgrade over Hall’.
Agree 100%. Our DLine stunk last year, and Robinson will be a huge upgrade like you said because he’s nasty enough & strong enough to play in either a 3-4 or a 4-3. Not so with Logan Hall; he SHOULD do much better in Ryan’s 4-3 defense as a DE.
Texans defense ranked #2 overall last season, giving up only 295 pts. Bucs in comparison ranked #20 overall, surrendering 411 pts. BOTH teams have Head Coaches who are dual-hatted as their team’s Defensive Coordinator.
But look at how each team spends their money. For 2025, the Texans spent $113.8 mil on defense, as compared to the Bucs who spent $101.4 mil according to Over-the-Cap. Seemingly not a major difference, except that the Texans’ defense has a lot of youngsters on their 1st contract which kept the cost way down in 2025.
As of March 2026, reports indicate the Texans are starting the 2026 season with the most expensive defense in the NFL, valued at over $179 million, following massive extensions for Hunter & Stingley, plus several other changes. The Bucs in the meantime have increased defense spending slightly, sitting at a current $116.2 mil valuation for 2026 (with more changes yet to come hopefully).
BTW Lakeland, came across an excellent analytical tool yesterday that I thought you had to pay for (but don’t for some stuff). Check out SharpFootballAnalysis dot com, then click on ‘Stats’. A number of excellent analyses there (like ‘NFL Defensive Metrics: Best & Worst NFL Defenses’) that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else (for free at least). Demonstrated pretty well why the Bucs ranked in the middle of the pack last year.
March 24th, 2026 at 10:10 am
Defense Rules,
Thanks
March 24th, 2026 at 10:14 am
We need to select a head coach for the first round pick.
March 24th, 2026 at 10:15 am
The Texans have arguably the best DL in the NFL. There’s a good chance that’s going to give Hall the opportunity to make more of an impact and be more of a play maker than he was here. Dont be shocked if his stats are noticeably better in Houston. Not to mention he is playing for a superior coach.
March 24th, 2026 at 10:16 am
So if Lovonte David retires today … Why in the f@@@ is Todd Bowles still here
March 24th, 2026 at 10:17 am
So we lose Lavonte but keep Todd
March 24th, 2026 at 10:21 am
Wow. Now we’re sad about losing Logan Hall. How the might (fickle Bucs fans) fall.
March 24th, 2026 at 10:28 am
Hall will be slotting into an already excellent defense. They’ve got a great edge rusher right now — Will Anderson Jr. I would expect Hall to produce more just by virtue of that.
March 24th, 2026 at 10:32 am
Curious. How long has it been when anything looked good for this defensive coordinator? Waiting. Waiting. It’s a Bucs life
March 24th, 2026 at 10:50 am
DR. I saw “free” and had to click on Sharp Football Analysis- statistics. Pretty good stuff. Only 7 teams gave up more yards per snap than we did. Of those 8 bottom dwellers only the Bears made the postseason. The Bears with Caleb Williams have a chance to be pretty formidable this decade. I hope we’re getting better. Alot better.
March 24th, 2026 at 10:56 am
Guys, Bowles was kept because he had one guaranteed year remaining so they would have to pay Bowles if they fired him. Also, the biggest reason he wasn’t fired is so he can get a top 10 pick. Thats the only sensible explanation to keep such a failure of a coach.
March 24th, 2026 at 10:59 am
And DR. The bad news just keeps coming. Only 7 teams had less yards per snap than we had offensively. With stats like those, both offensively and defensively, it’s a miracle we won 8 games. Must of been the stellar special teams and coaching.

That would be our SB victory against KC.
March 24th, 2026 at 11:22 am
Logan is not a relevant linebacker in anyone’s defense. He’s a backup player and his performance proves this statement.
Finding a better player in the draft is Jason Licht’s plan. When you miss on a player you learn from your mistakes. We have seen Licht draft picks have improved year over year in the last few years (especially so from 2020.)
March 24th, 2026 at 11:23 am
I’m just happy this post didn’t include the implication that are program is better than the Texans because we beat them last year.
Why would hall think he can be developed better in Houston? A 32-19 career record and a 3-3 mark in the playoffs for a guy that’s been a head coach for three seasons and was part of a rebuild.
Hall, like Evans, isn’t naive.
March 24th, 2026 at 11:28 am
That’s right Paratrooper Buc.
I’m sure Bowles is a great guy and a player coach. The media guys, all the players, Licht, everyone loves Bowles the guy.
Unfortunately it has been blinding them to Bowles the coach. Finally some players are recognizing how to separate the 2 and they are moving on.
March 24th, 2026 at 11:43 am
Bowles is a disaster regardless of Halls play in Texas. Everybody knows that.
And it’s the Gulf of America
March 24th, 2026 at 11:46 am
Obvious. Can’t change the fact that we did beat Houston last year. That was with a severely wounded offense. Don’t forget it was in their house.

WM Says:

And your post shows what dope you are. Gulf of fascist idiots would be more appropriate. This Joe shows he knows more than football.
Regarding Hall, we couldn’t make it work here with current environment and let him go. We will see what happens in Texas. We know what we will see in Tampa on 10 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.
March 24th, 2026 at 11:50 am
Over 90% of Bucs fans believe Bowels should have been fired at the end of this season. Welcome aboard, Joe.
March 24th, 2026 at 11:50 am
Kenton … ‘I saw “free” and had to click on Sharp Football Analysis- statistics. Pretty good stuff. Only 7 teams gave up more yards per snap than we did.’
That ‘Yards per Play Allowed’ (Bucs ranked #25 with an average 5.7 YPP Allowed) is a pretty telling stat IMO. It correlates reasonably well with the ‘Explosive Play Rate Allowed’ (Bucs ranked #27 with a 6.6% rate) … most of the better teams were down around 4%-5% last season. That continues to bug me; Bucs’ defense gave up more explosive plays last season (by far) than they did in any season under Todd Bowles.
We obviously had a LOT of injuries (which surely impacted our ability to practice well during the week & perform in games), but it can’t all be blamed on that. Lack of TALENT is a bigger part of last season’s problems IMO, and I think that’s why we’re seeing so many personnel changes right now. We’re bringing in guys who have better ‘availability’ and are generally bigger & nastier. Older yes, but I’m convinced that Bowles does MUCH better employing talented veterans than he does youngsters. Cautiously optimistic for this season, at this point. Can’t wait for the draft. Surely JL will change his modus operandi & draft a beastly NT/NT, a nasty ILB, and a starter-capable CB in the Top-3 Rnds.
March 24th, 2026 at 12:02 pm
I hate being right…thanks Bucs!!!
March 24th, 2026 at 12:57 pm
YOU’RE REACHING JOE!!!!
This is Halls first time hitting FA and playing for another team…..all he knows is Bowles defense…
playing in a new/different system, along with playing under new/different coaches will further your development by default lol….
think Jeremy McNichols lol….has he ever “balled out”…NO!!!….but he’s continued to develop which is why he’s still in the league
NOW, if MIKE EVANS “BALLS OUT” in san fran, what does that say about Baker lol
BROCK>BAKE
GO BUCS!!!!!
March 24th, 2026 at 1:26 pm
Yep. It’s true we cannot change the fact that we beat the Texans and the 49ers last season.
We also can’t change the body of work for either of those programs or coaches and the fact both HCs got in the playoffs in a better division and won a playoff game.
But yeah that September win was great. I’ll def take that over Demarco.
March 24th, 2026 at 2:23 pm
It goes back to Bowles forcing these players to do things they are not good at. Monotony only comes from being limited to unexciting things.
March 24th, 2026 at 2:54 pm
Outrage over nothing.
Hall came into the NFL green as a cucumber and underdeveloped physically – he was too lean for a 3-4 DE. He’s had to learn how to be a 3-4 DE while also having to get bigger. Saying a guy like that could still develop isn’t out of the question, in particular considering he was out of position as a 3-4 DE.
The Texans, I believe, run a 4-3 – so Hall will be a more natural fit I think, can probably drop a bit of the weight he had put on. It wouldn’t shock me at all if he gets 5 or 6 sacks, perhaps even more, just being in a new scheme.
In Bowles scheme, well in nearly all 3-4 defenses, Hall is playing mostly a run stuffer role and to eat up offensive line to allow other guys to make plays. Most fans are way too stupid to know what they’re watching, so they just point at the box score and say ‘he play no good’. But Hall was doing well in his role, but A’Shawn Robinson, from everything I read, is more of a natural 3-4 DE and I think is a really good fit, and a better fit than Hall for this scheme.
Anywho, best of luck to Hall – he was better than people think, but again, just not a good fit for his role here.

March 24th, 2026 at 3:35 pm
Hall can ball out or fall flat on his face, it isnt going to change my thoughts on Todd Bowles.
I have eyes and my eyes see a defense that plays slow that doesnt do any one thing particularly well when it comes to stopping modern NFL offenses.
Todd Bowles is a 62 year old coach that isn’t going to suddenly have an epiphany and realize that his style of defense isnt effective. It is a death by a thousand paper cuts scheme that i can’t imagine players love playing in and coaches enjoy coaching. It should be pretty telling that to replace the coaches on defense that were fired/retired it took them weeks to announce that the new coaches were already guys that were on staff. Nobody outside the organization wanted those jobs.
March 24th, 2026 at 5:40 pm
Rod Munch blames Baker Mayfield for the Bucs drafting Hall. Because, of course he does.
March 24th, 2026 at 8:39 pm
REALLY hoping Hall balls in Houston
March 24th, 2026 at 11:07 pm
Well good for Hall. If he balls even better. Every player has their own motivation, monotony seemed just the way he played here. He’s been developed differently, now he’ll get more coaching develop more and be better of course. It’s really a no brainer here.
Def for Texans are tuff, he’ll excel there if he doesn’t feel monotony set in.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:40 am
Look, even players who were good as rookies decline into suck playing for this coach. Name one who hasn’t. You can’t. They all regress.
Nothing to do with talent and everything to do with all aspects of coaching and leadership. The most “can’t miss” prospect in decades could come to the Bucs, look good for a few games, get tired legs, get bored and vanish from the NFL landscape. Same player goes to Campbell or Vrabel or McVay or Shanahan or Reid, hall of fame career.
We are fortunate the Glazers and Todd knew it was all the assistant coaches faults and the players faults. They must have targeted Dean, Lavonte, Mike, Izien and Hall as the bad actors.
🤡
