“Clarity” Expected On Mike Evans Situation By 3 P.M.

March 9th, 2026

ESPN super insider Adam Schefter reported on ESPN TV this afternoon that he expects “clarity” on Mike Evans’ situation before 3 p.m. He did not hint that Evans, a pending free agent and Buccaneers legend, would be moving to a new team.

Remember, Schefter is a true Bucs insider, a hometown friend of Buccaneers assistant general manager Mike Greenberg.

I think ME is gone. You know many of these deals are already done and just waiting for wet ink. With that assumption, there is no reason to not have immediately announced that ME is back with the Bucs.

  2. Bucfan1988 Says:

Wow!!! Kenneth Walker to the CHIEFS!!!
Seattle really messed that up, lol

  3. SteveK Says:

How do the chiefs have cap to make moves and the Bucs don’t? Lol

  4. Co-Z Coolman Says:

Rumor is hes going to the Bears. Hope we can match whatever they’re offering

  5. Fanofdabucs Says:

They traded Duffue and their OT to create space.

  6. Derrick Says:

This is beyond pathetic….. just wait and see what happens.. “how do the chiefs “ have the cap.. it hasn’t been 1 hour and nobody we need or linked too has been signed

  7. Bucfan1988 Says:

CADE OTTON agrees to terms with the Bucs!!!

  8. HeavyE Says:

Cade, is coming back to the Bucs! Let’s go Bucs! Now get M1K3!!!

  9. LakelandSteve Says:

Mike Evans wants to win another Super Bowl and if he leaves the Bucs that may say more about the Bucs than Evans. Evans loves Tampa and has done team friendly deals in the past. Can anyone forget how Evans went ballistic on the sidelines when the defense couldn’t get a stop? If Evans believed the Bucs could get to the Super Bowl I doubt he leaves the Bucs. He may (like many Bucs fans) believe that Todd Bowles is not capable of taking a team to the Super Bowl and winning.

  10. catcard202 Says:

The question I keep coming back to is…”At this stage of his career, is the 33yr old version of Mike Evans more valuable to Bucs W/L record than a younger – proven Edge rusher???”

  11. FlBoy84 Says:

Think the re-signing of Cade likely means Mike is gone. Wish him well if so.

  12. Cobraboy Says:

    I love Mike Evans

But I loved Mike Evans 6 years ago even more.

I felt sad when Brokks, Sapp, and Lynch went elsewhere, and will feel the same if Evans chooses to leave.

But I am ready for it.

Dude is hurt often. And Father Time is batting 1.000.

  13. bakerfan Says:

None of you fools know what is going to happen, stop pretending you do.

  14. Ben Says:

I think Mike wants to listen to offers and circle back. If teams are really interested than maybe Evans is weighing options.

  15. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

Love ME13, but let someone else overpay. We already overpaid for CG. Some GM will offer him too much so let him go. The best GMs know when to move on for good of the team. It’s that time.

  16. Hugh Glazerhouse Says:

If Mike leaves, it’s the Glazers fault for keeping a coach he knows he can’t win with. If he stays it means he’s loyal and contrary to Butt Munch believes in Baker.

  17. El hefe Says:

I don’t understand how you think we paid to much for Godwin he being paid less than most number 2 and 3 at this point and took less to stay do a lil research

  18. Robert Says:

I lost all respect for Mike Evans when he kneeled for the National Anthem. It was only once but I will never give anyone a second chance for that. Don’t let the door hit where the Lord split ya.
