The Raiders are one of the most interesting teams this year. Patriots also had ~100m cap space this time last year and made some key signings which took them to the Superbowl on the back of a star young QB.

Lynchmob50 might literally be mentally challenged. He said a new starting qb as if baker isn’t under contract and like he won’t sign an extention. If you knew ball, then you would know defense is the main priority, then Mike Evans if the price isn’t too steep

I wonder if the “Mike deserves to test free agency” line by JL is actually that or some savvy talk and part of their plan and valuation of Mike at this point in his career
Meaning they might not have Mike valued at that Franchise tag number and ain’t paying that kind of $. Do they value him closer to that reported $15-20 market valuation at this point in career, but maybe up it to Chris Godwin territory.
I’m thinking it wasn’t just “Mike deserves to rest FA” and there’s some we ain’t paying you that much under the Franchise tag at this stage of things.

A troll’s view:
1. ME should go. The guy wants to be in the SB race with a good team. That would free up $$ which would lead to:
2. Our GM signing up some players that produce like Reddick.
3. Draft some players that will take several years to develop.
2026 will be a lost year for the Bucs. Until that creature posing as a HC is gone, this team is going no where. JL goes too I hope. I think the Glazier’s know this, also. They are going to stand pat this year with a big house cleaning before 2027.

Hate KC, but Mike would have a legit shot at a ring with Reid & even 1/2+ season of Mahomes, along with Kelce returning & addition of Walker. Certain Mike would appreciate having a top-end HC again as well.

It helps when your whole starting offensive line, 3 starting receivers aren’t hurt the majority of the year. Oh and you just completely bypass the stellar defense part. Bucs had a top 3 worst defense in the league last year. Also baker beat Sam head to head this year so there’s that.

1. No one complains more about the defense than I do. Bowles should be fired.
2. You think a regular season win equals Baker being better than Darnold? That’s pure insanity. Results actually matter and Darnold has a ring. Baker hasn’t earned an onion ring.

Lynchmob, Baker has the highest ever career playoff passer rating, ahead of even Mahomes. He was also one missed targeting penalty away from beating the Chiefs when he was with the Browns. Baker has had many comeback drives Baker rendered useless because the defense then allowed the opponent to score in the remaining 30-55 seconds.

Sad? Of course…he was a great player for a long time. I actually think this may age well in the Bucs favor. The last 2 seasons were injury riddled…and as fun as the finale of the 2024 season was…you could argue they went out of their way to get Evans over 1000 yards for the streak. Gilmore had him talked into leaving…we shall see if Evans enjoys the West Coast. We wish him well no doubt.
