Quincy Williams & The Jets
February 11th, 2026
The Bucs need productive inside linebackers and Joe suspects Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht would be pleased to fill those roles with veterans on one-year contracts.
Enter Quincy Williams, a pending Jets castoff. And Licht has nothing against Jets castoffs.
Williams was a first-team All-Pro in 2023. (That’s no typo.) He was that good.
Williams turns 30 in August and his Jets contract is about to expire. Word out of New York is that Williams doesn’t like the Jets coaching staff — he was benched early last season — and he’s ready to find a new team after five years with a bumbling franchise. Williams had a good year in 2024 and then joined the rest of his Jets teammates and didn’t play well in 2025.
A shoulder injury cost Williams four games last year and he played through a December hand issue.
It doesn’t seem like Williams is toast. And again, he was an All-Pro in 2023, meaning he’s no SirVocea Dennis.
It smells like Williams is a classic change-of-scenery guy who could be a nice Band-Aid for a bleeding Bucs defense.
The free agency dinner bell rings at high noon on Monday, March 9.

Go get him.

Got no problem with him if the price is right. Certainly don’t want to pay for another two year bust like Reddick (different position, but the same principle). Reddick was also a Jet coming off an off-year.

I guess so. Might as well sign a few guys since Licht can’t hit on an edge in the draft. In other news, how is the search for a real DC coming along?

This is exactly the type of guy good teams sign before they win a Super Bowl

And again, he was an All-Pro….

Oh man, like Devin White!
Sign both, get TWO former ALL-PROs!
And no, I’m not joking or being sarcastic. No idea what the hate in White is all about, but without him the Bucs don’t win the SB.

We need bodies on Defense that can play at a competitive level. His resume and our needs make him a viable candidate to step in and start Day 1. That’s a big deal and this would be a good move at a nice price salary wise. Now bring in 3-4 other guys that fit the same bill. We need new blood to help our Putrid Pass Defense out. Still waiting on the Answer as to how/why Todd is still the head coach. Anybody?
