Mixed Messages Coming From Las Vegas Over Maxx Crosby
February 11th, 2026Again, Joe brings this information because Joe knows there is keen interest in this subject.
Joe is also a businessman. As noted humanitarian Sam Giancana once said when asked why he and his colleagues work in the business they’ve chosen, Giancana said, “We give [customers] what they want.”
There is a lot of smoke blowing out of Raiders headquarters in Las Vegas and the smoke signals are directly contradicting each other.
On one hand you have uber NFL insider Jay Glazer claiming All-World edge rusher Maxx Crosby is a caged lion wanting to get away from the Raiders.
On the other hand you have new Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak saying yesterday that the very first player to come into the Raiders facility to work out was Crosby and the two had a coffee together to get to know each other.
If Kubiak isn’t fibbing, a guy hellbent on leaving doesn’t sound like the same guy who would be first in the building the morning after a Super Bowl to work out.
Joe guesses there may be a little clarity on Crosby’s situation in two weeks when Joe joins the football world when it parachutes into downtown Indianapolis for the combine.
If what Raiders owner Mark Davis wants in ransom for Crosby is true, Joe just doesn’t see a deal getting done with Crosby for weeks maybe months. If the Bucs (or any team) is seriously thinking of dropping two first-round picks and some $30 million in salary a year for Crosby, 28, those teams are damn sure going to want to see Crosby at 100 percent before they pull the trigger.
Currently, Crosby is damaged goods, having missed the final two games of the 2025 season with a knee injury.
Could the Bucs use Crosby? Ha! Yes. However, what exactly are the Bucs getting in return? And most importantly, how will the Bucs use him? Joe’s not sure it’s very wise or makes a ton of financial sense to bring in an edge rusher and have him play safety on half the passing downs.

I’d rather trade two first rounders to get JTS back. I mean…imagine all his near tackles for loss leading the league opposite Anthony Nelson!

Maxx Crosby is a pipe dream. JL will never let go of 2 1st Rd picks.

Senor Harry is right. No way Jason is giving up 2 firsts for Crosby. He covets those day 1 and day 2 picks so he can get guys like JTS, OJ Howard, Trask, Aguayo, Logan Hall, Braswell, etc.

Trading 2 first rounders for any player is exactly what will get the whole staff fired.

I hope the bucs don’t take the bait and trade for Maxx. More than likely he is going to have off season surgery, or he is going to try to play with an injury. I just think the bucs have to many holes to address in the trenches to trade their future away for 1 player. You only make a trade like that if you are a player away from a championship run. I honest don’t believe they are bucs are no better than the Saints right now. I have been pounding the table the last 5 years to build the trenches up. Still no pass rush and when you look at the super bowl you see all those defensive linemen the bucs pass on in the draft.

Another article about this guy? The Bucs won’t get him and if they do they’ll give up too much draft capital for minimal impact. Crosby won’t turn this defense around. Everyone who watches the Bucs knows this guy will be out covering the flat or RBs on 3rd down. It’ll be a waste of resources and time.

Malachi Lawerence day 2

Day late and a dollar short. That move was last year when we had a say in his contract.
How do we sign Mike, at least one ILB and OLB, a corner and Crosby?
Pass.

Why are we still talking about maxx?

If you are going to part ways with draft picks, you are better off trading up into the top 10 and landing Bain or Bailey. Guys who can be cornerstones for years to come. Trading up 6-7 spots would cost far less in draft capital and far less in salary and you have a much younger player.
Use that money in FA for LBers, DL and OL depth.

Even if the Buccaneers were a good team, I don’t think Crosby would even take the phone call from Tampa to come and play for this head coach, knowing he would rarely get the chance to actually rush the quarterback he would be too busy covering out in the flats. And that will probably be the case for any halfway decent pass rusher. Mike Evans will sign someplace else he wants to win and that won’t happen here with this defense and this team will have a hard time getting anyone decent in free agency to come play on this team regardless of position until we get a new philosophy and new head coach.
