Josh Grizzard Hired By The Eagles

January 31st, 2026

Fall guy 2025 Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard landed squarely on his feet under the umbrella of a Super Bowl-winning head coach and a future Hall of Fame general manager.

Intriguing!

Grizzard, 35, will be the passing game coordinator under new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, the former NFL quarterback and Packers QB coach. Mannion is only 33 years old and reports out of Philadelphia say he will call plays. A first-time playcaller, it seems Mannion will lean on the experience of Grizzard and his head coach, Nick Sirianni.

Joe’s glad to see Grizzard land on his feet — and not in Jacksonville with Liam “El Serpiente” Coen.

    🤣

…..well atleast he’s not their OC!

    ……poor Eagles fans

  2. ā€˜74 Bucs Fan Says:

That wouldn’t instill confidence in the Eagles offense if I were an Eagles fan.

Pretty happy with Zac Robinson as OC. ATL has had a pretty good and creative offense.

  3. RondeBarberTime Says:

Now that he’s out from under the yoke of Toad Bowels and his wide open, Swiss Cheese, soft as butter, pee wee league caliber defense, he will enjoy real success with an organization ACTUALLY trying to win championships.

Can’t wait to hear the excuses in 2026 when we come out of the gate on another long sustained losing streak.

Don’t listen to Ira or the Joes when they say that Bowles is on the hot seat.

Every year they run cover for this fraud, 3rd and 28.

  4. Bosch Says:

More experience in a subordinate coordinator role may be the answer for him. I wish him luck.

  5. RondeBarberTime Says:

He’ll enjoy working for a real organization that wants to win titles.

And in Philly they don’t use Swiss Cheese as a defensive scheme.

Unfortunately we don’t play them in the regular season.

How fitting would it be to meet them in round one at home in the playoffs.

Only to have Grizzard carve up the Bowles defense as all other NFL teams do.

Would probably get Todd another extension and a raise!!!!

  6. RondeBarberTime Says:

    2025 was entirely Grizzard’s fault.

He had a world renowned HC\DC and he blew it.

Todd is the best coach in all of the NFL.

It isn’t his fault that the players can’t grasp the scheme.

Nor is it the GM’s fault that the players drafted don’t work out.

    Job security 101.

  7. HC Grover Says:

The perfect escape from Bowlzo. Good job.

  8. Vanessa Anne Says:

    Good for Grizz!

He was hamstrung a little this year by all the offensive injuries, and frankly, I think Todd Bowles also tied his hands by dictating offensive strategy to him more than Todd should have.

Of course, Grizz also didnt demonstrate a ton of creativity and seemed to struggle with in-game adjustments.

I think he has the potential to be a good OC. He just needs another year or two in more of an assistant role like this one.

    Good for him.

  9. Let ā€˜em bake Says:

Good for him. He will probably be working without aj brown, which may help him. No pressure to get a diva the ball.

  10. dumboldguy Says:

I just listened to Joe and Ira on the radio today. They built the biggest strawman defending Bowles that you could take the hay from it and feed every horse in North America.

They said fans don’t like Bowles because of his demeanor. What a crock. We don’t like him because he’s clueless. I play low stakes poker and have seen some of the same cast of characters for over 10 years at the tables. They are bad. Very bad. They are experienced but they are terrible in the exact same ways because they are clueless. They don’t even understand how they are bad.

Bowles is the same. His defense is bad. Very bad. And it’s bad in the exact same ways. He is clueless and there is no amount of experience that will help him.

They also said he’s a great guy. I disagree. I don’t think Grizz is great but Bowles tied his hands as the season went on to protect his terrible defense. Then throws him under the bus to save his own skin. That is a coward and a liar.

    “Fall guy”

    Sigh———————–.

  12. Obvious Says:

Grizzard wasn’t the problem. I don’t know if he was good at his job, but he was def the fall guy.

My bet is that he rebounds and gets another OC gig in the next few years.

  13. MelvinJunior Says:

    @ dumboldguy says: ā€œThey also said he’s a great guy.ā€

I haven’t ā€˜bought this’ in a long time, once I started paying a little more attention, and started thinking for myself. I think he is just VERY sneaky. And people will just say ā€œHe’s A Nice Guy,ā€ without even thinking about it. Mostly, because they don’t have anything else, that they can say about him. There’s not very much ā€œthereā€ with him. So, it’s all empty. There were a few things from last last off-season, that really started to open my eyes (concerning the entire franchise actually). Before that, I just took everyone else’s word for it! ā€œHe’s Such A Nice Guy, Though.ā€ It’s literally, ALL you’d ever hear. Nothing else. Hell, I wouldn’t foggin trust HIM as far as I could SPIT. He is VERY sneaky. And, I’ve never heard even the FIRST example of anything HE’s DONE that makes HIM this ā€œNice Guy.ā€ So, what makes HIM so damn ā€œniceā€ then!? What the hell has HE done? What makes HIM just such a NICE guy? Cause, I’m not freaking seeing it, or buying-it anymore. It’s just what people say, when they can’t think of ANYTHING ELSE to say about a person. I’ve seen sooo many people say this through the years, even myself included. When NO ONE truly knows the first ā€˜real thing’ about him. It’s all totally empty.

  14. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

The offense was trash. Lacked identity, rarely consistent on a drive to drive basis and wasted ALOT of reps and opportunities. Some of that fell at Grizzards feet and that’s why he’s back in a role he should’ve never left IF Coen didn’t bail.

With him being young as he is, he can still get the experience to capitalize on his next OC opportunity. Until then, he’s got to answer to Sean Mannion and Nick Sirianni

  15. MelvinJunior Says:

People will offer up TONS of criticism, and then complain about this and that! But, they ALWAYS end with ā€œHe’s A Real Nice Guy Though.ā€ It’s really stupid when you think about it. Cause, it’s like (AND?) so is my grandma. I think most people use this when discussing anything about Todd Bowles, to help guard against being called a r@cist. They are only pandering by prevising their comments with ā€œI like Todd Bowles, he’s a swell guy!ā€ LoL.

  16. DungyDance Says:

    “Grizzard wasn’t the problem”

There were undeniably many problems. AND HE WAS ONE OF THEM.

Exhibit A: could not ever figure out how to use tight ends.

Exhibit B: 1st and goal on the half yard line in New Orleans.

Exhibit C: the entire game plan in Carolina.

Exhibit D: could not ever adapt the running game to the “hot hand.”

Exhibit E: way under-utilized Rachaad’s strength as a short yard receiver.

Exhibit F: predictable, unsuccessful running plays in medium yardage situations.

Exhibit G: formulaic, predictable passing schemes that too often failed to capitalize on our embarrassment of riches at WR.

Exhibit H: was totally in love with passes behind the sticks.

Exhibit I: did not develop or have game-ready a legit backup QB, leading to playing Baker while injured.

Exhibit J: Third down conversion regressed terribly in 2025 vs. 2024.

I’m sure there’s more that I missed. The point is that he sucked at his job. He was not our only problem. But we was a big problem.

  17. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Grizz did have that one creative play where Bake faked the hand off and pitched it behind to Tez ,, that play was always good for about 3 to 5 yards ! Very creative Grizz

  18. Tom Petty Says:

Some of you guys are like old grumpy men who go to the same restaurant every day and loudly bltch about the cook, then leave bad reviews, only to return the next day and the day after (for months and years) just to do it again – wtf ?

If you truly think there’s no hope for the Bucs with our current HC, OC, QB, GM etc then why are you still here ?

  19. ocala Says:

Joe may not Like Liam Coen but he is one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL and he should be the Bucs head coach right now.

  20. RondeBarberTime Says:

Toad Bowels sucks out loud at every job he has.

But as long as a compliant media, GM, Ownership, and BA protect him, the record is irrelevant.

Grizzard will now experience true success after escaping the Swiss cheese defense and inept in game decisions by the “Head Coach”.

Not just participation trophies that currently pass for actual results in Tampa.

  21. White Tiger Says:

Good for Grizz. Some of last year was on him, but the majority of the blame was on offensive line/WR/RB injuries and mostly on the the defensive coordinator.
