“We Finally Got Some Energy”
December 13th, 2025There’s a crisis at One Buc Palace when it comes to some guys being willing to play with their hair on fire and communicate with urgency.
You know, guys willing to treat must-win division games at home with the focus and intensity they deserve.
Joe’s not pulling this out of thin air. Bucs officials are saying it — from Todd Bowles to Bucco Bruce Arians.
Consider what Arians, the paid senior advisor to Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht, told Kay Adams before kickoff on Thursday.
On Up & Adams, she asked Arians what his reaction was to the Jason Pierre-Paul signing this week.
“We finally got some energy,” Arians replied.
Joe hopes everyone one at One Buc Palace realizes fans lose their collective minds hearing this kind of comment, similar to what outside linebackers coach Larry Foote said on Tuesday.
Are we fans to believe the current Bucs were/are dreadfully devoid of energy? Where’s this historic leadership so many spoke of months ago?
What does this say about Baker Mayfield and Lavonte David and Antoine Winfield?
“He’s going to bring some energy, that’s for sure. He can still do it. I mean, in the right role, I could see him really, really help us down the stretch,” Arians said of JPP.
Before counting on JPP, Joe hopes to hear next week about how Bucs players came together on this long weekend, or maybe Monday night, to hash out their issues and unify in a new way. Status quo isn’t cutting it.
Talent is not required to focus and look like the hungriest and most physical team on the field.

And the clown show continues. SMFH! If you don’t have energy for two division opponents at home, and need a dude who’s been out of football for a few years to bring it, that’s on the head ball coach. There is just no other way to spin it. I will tell you who brought the energy Thursday was our HOF receiver. He had every right to be as pisssd as he was, if not more so. 3rd and 28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grifter …
December 13th, 2025 at 2:24 pm
It’s easy to recognize the real sh*t show happening around Todd and Jason’s masterpiece.
December 13th, 2025 at 2:26 pm
If YOUR players lack energy, the problem is on YOU. Bowles must go. And said players need to be called out and benched.
December 13th, 2025 at 2:34 pm
There seemed to be plenty of energy before the Bye week. The mystery is what the heck happened during that week off?
December 13th, 2025 at 2:38 pm
All of the above comments are what ALl the fans are feeling. We’re witnessing game after game the total sh&tshow this franchise has become ever since Brady left. Licht as GM is as much to blame as the putrid coaching staff. The defense needs a total makeover. Instead, Licht gave Fraudsters Zyon and Winfield big $$$. Glazers need to clean house including the GM.

I will say this many things wrong with this team are nor Bowle’s fault. You can’t get blood out of a turnip. Therein lies the issue. The Bucs simply don’t not have the players with enough talent at enough postions that can compete. However, that does lay on both Bowles and Licht. Yes, if you needed infusion , why not addres that at the trade deadline or preseason. They knew Reddick was a gamble and if he went down with injuries as he did who was going to take his place. MLB, they knew LVD was getting older and was not capable of dominating the middle and needed help. They did not see Dennis was not a top shelf MLB?. We all had had questions about him To add to that we now also see their is no depth behind him. So they wait til it is too little too late and bring in a guy who is is well past his prime. Lastly ,if you thought he could help, why not bring him in at the start of the season not the end!!. I believe Bowles is putting them in the right places to win, the problem is they don’t have the talent to win and don’t understand how to win. It is like asking a nurse to perform surgery. Assiting is one thing , being the main person responsible is another. The key is knowing who can do which job!!. With that said yes I believe it is too late for Bowles because he doesn’t have the talent on defense. The offense, we have seen Baker just doesn’t have enough time with the back up guards playing. It appears they are causing problems in the run game as well.

@crasey, it’s the same every year with Bowles, we start out good, even better this year, then we have our mid year slump. Nothing has really changed. Bowles is who he is. An average at best coach, who employs the most complex defenses of all time that he can’t get his players to master, and who seem to always have communication issues. Then he throws said players under the bus. Time for a change.
December 13th, 2025 at 2:48 pm
We lost the Brady mindset.
7-10 is coming. SMH
December 13th, 2025 at 2:50 pm
@ Football1, so are you saying they need HOF talent at every level to compete. Sure there are defencies, good coaches find a way. See Saleh with the 49ers, he is making blood out of a tulip. I mean, have you seen their injury situation this year?
December 13th, 2025 at 2:58 pm
Anyone still waiving Pom Poms for Bowles as the HC is blind.
If getting back to the SB is the goal, he will NEVER get us there.
These last two games were the death nail. He’s cooked and he knows it.
That’s why he went on the profanity laced tirade.
When you have nothing left to offer and can’t handle that reality, your worst instincts show themselves.
Fire Bowles Now!!!!
December 13th, 2025 at 3:02 pm
Saw a truncated version of Bowles’s “rant.”
I like the implied anger, but I use the word “implied” because he shows little emotion even in an expletive laced presser.
Swing those arms around, shout, show your growl and look angry, not like a poor actor who is supposed to be upset.
When you’re really, really angry you gotta kick those intonation levels into high gear! SHOUT!
Dunno, I could be blind, but the guy appears deadpan at all times.
I want fire from my coach, not a guy who appears to have ingested NyQuil before stepping up to the rostrum.
Trade for McVay (they’ve done it before) and create a documentary, From McKay to McVay.
Do something!

Adams interviewed Arians before the game. Any energy we lacked we aren’t lacking now. We won’t need JPP for energy. A few sacks maybe. Evans and Godwin are back! JMac beyond expectations-this guy has a chance to compete with Egbuka for our top receiver for the next 5 or 6 years. Carberry is working his butt off trying to get this line ready for when we get our weapons ready. Well, our weapons are ready. Our hall of fame receiver yelling 3rd and 28? How did that go over with Lavonte? And Bowles and the Vea? And the rest of the defense? The problems with this locker room are getting solved. Baker is one of the best pure passers I’ve ever seen and I know how much he missed Mike and Chris and JMac. After the humble pie this defense has been served, to be followed up with a smack down from Mike Evans? Might just make a good complementary defense when the offense gets humming. And hum it will. And all you fans talking about Bowles and Mayfield sucking, who really don’t have any clear understanding about when a season ends, should feel ashamed. When’s Kancey gonna get back? He could really help us out in the NFC championship.
December 13th, 2025 at 3:03 pm
Bowles has his areas to grow for sure. Having quitters is not really his rep
I get it’s his responsibility, and can also acknowledge that having people around you decide to quit is pretty sh*tty
December 13th, 2025 at 3:09 pm
This entire defense lacks effort snd iq there is said it. Theyre morons and theyre lazy. Theyre entitled lazy and have no pride or guts.
December 13th, 2025 at 3:16 pm
Kenton Smith, I agree on some of what you said, and love your optimism. But yes, Bowles does suck dude, sorry to burst your bubble. So who’s fault is it that we have let Kirk average a 135 passer rating us the last 3 games we played him? I’ll wait….
December 13th, 2025 at 3:17 pm
First thing on the agenda, send Arians to pasture…for good.. He set this wagon full of manure down the tracks with his branch less coaching tree. He can go try to rehabilitate NFL rejects, bastards, and broken things on someone else’s dime.
Bowles is obviously gone after this season. This defense isnt going to miraculously come to life over these next three weeks. They are what they are, and they are what he built them to be. A rudderless ship at this point.
I dont think Licht can survive this either. Any head coach candidate worth a damn isnt going to sign up to coach for a GM that has been through a half dozen head coaches.
December 13th, 2025 at 3:23 pm
@Kenton Smith
I’ve said that. I don’t think they realize how much they miss Kancey & they really should see about moving him to DE instead.
December 13th, 2025 at 3:24 pm
They need JPP to call out the 2 highest paid slackers in the entire defense. AWJ and Zyon have been garbage.
December 13th, 2025 at 3:33 pm
Cool. Fire Arians, too.
December 13th, 2025 at 3:36 pm
Of course we miss Kancey dude. But god bless him, he just can’t stay healthy. At least when Dean gets hurt he only misses a half or a game. But once again, good coaches ADJUST! The 49ers lost arguably the best LB in the game and Bosa! They still have a great chance to win their division, which could be the toughest in football.
December 13th, 2025 at 3:45 pm
I am officially on the time for a change train however I hate to say it Bucs will somehow back into a division win and a playoff berth and Bowles will be back next year. And the reason I say hate to say it isn’t because I don’t want them ti win the division it’s an I could see them winning it by default and not going and taking it. Had a chance the last two weeks to really get a stranglehold on the lead but we all know how that went. It’s a effin bucs life for sure
December 13th, 2025 at 4:13 pm
After the Saints loss they decided to go sign JPP. That move was 1000% tell that the coaches and GM has lost this team. The Saints game was bad enough and telling that no more wins are coming for this team. That signing just amplified that and proved Bowles had no idea how to fix the D or get them in position to win anymore.
December 13th, 2025 at 4:27 pm
Someone take the golf cart keys away from grandpa. This guy shouldn’t be allowed back in the building. SMDH.
FIRE EVERYONE!!!!!!
December 13th, 2025 at 4:48 pm
Bruce Arians needs to be run the hell outta town with perennial loser Todd Bowles!!!!!!!!!! He is responsible for Bucs being saddled with this useless worst coach in the league.
December 13th, 2025 at 4:50 pm
Joe please post about head coaching choices.
December 13th, 2025 at 5:06 pm
He gets a pass because he won a Superbowl. But he got mad because nobody hired leftwich as HC and left Bucs with about the same equivalent.
December 13th, 2025 at 5:27 pm
Anyone who writes that this lazy malaise is out of Bowles control has never been a leader. The Buc stops with the head coach. He is the supposed leader of this team. It is ALL on Bowles.
December 13th, 2025 at 5:32 pm
Bowles appears to have lost the team, and only two victories over the Panthers could alter the plot. It seems unlikely to happen, and unfortunate that the defense is schematically flawed against every experienced, accurate QB. Without a dominant pass rush, they’re Bowles’ Poressneers — send his arse back to NJ please!
December 13th, 2025 at 7:57 pm
Kancey cannot stay on the field so NCBucfan is right, he cannot help if he is hurt. This ended up a big miss in the draft. I am with Firedacannons. Lets see a head coaching wish list.: Kubiak, Lafleur, Monken ???????
December 13th, 2025 at 8:19 pm
If we’re talented enough to beat the Seahawks in their crib then we’re talented enough to beat any of the teams in our division. The defense was just as awful then as they are now it’s just Baker was playing at a very high level back then and we could outscore our opponents
