Todd Bowles Explains His Outrage Outburst
December 16th, 2025So the entire NFL world is familar with Todd Bowles dropping seven F-bombs in 24 seconds during his postgame news conference on Thursday night.
It was like he was gunning for a record under the NBA shot clock.
Impressive stuff.
So what were those emotions about? Bowles answered that question today on the Buccaneers Radio Network.
“When you get beat on simple fundamentals and technique, that is something I really can’t stand or can’t take, and that’s the frustrating part of it,” Bowles said. “And not taking it out on one player or anybody else, but we know what we’ve been doing the past few weeks, and when those mistakes creep up at the end with the game on the line and we understand we gotta execute and we don’t do it — and we’ve done it 50 million times — that part really bothers you and really pisses you off.”
Overall, listening to Bowles, it sounds like he feels like his defense loses its focus too often. Sometimes it’s one player on a play; sometimes its multiple guys.
If Bowles and the coaching staff can’t get more guys locked in now, then why would anyone expect it to happen in 2026?
Joe sure hopes Bowles can get his defense playing a shred better quickly while the offense benefits from big-time talent returning to the field. That’s not too much to ask.

Simple fundamentals and technique would be a basic D scheme, todd…not this shtshow you keep putting together. Yes, back to basics!! Is it that hard dude? Stop with the trickery!!! We have the talent to play their proper positions… AND STOP GOING ON 4th DOWN UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!! Obviously we cant do that too well….and while Im at it, stop going for two points unless absolutely necessary, not good at that either.
The stupid is thick!
December 16th, 2025 at 9:17 pm
Fake f-bombs to cover his piss poor defense schemes.
December 16th, 2025 at 9:26 pm
Should raise his voice when doing so…..show some fire!!!
December 16th, 2025 at 9:29 pm
Nfc championship or fire him
December 16th, 2025 at 9:38 pm
Just win. One game at a time.
December 16th, 2025 at 9:55 pm
Several newer HC doing far more with far less…
Experiment should expire in 3 games…
Klint Kubiac
Mike LeFleur
Todd Monken
For Bucs 2026 HC!

I want this team to win and make it to the playoff and I want Todd Bowles to get fired. Simple as that.

Todd is a players coach. He is a guy players relate to and love playing for. He doesn’t make them practice tackling they have walk throughs. He gives them extended vacation time. Doesn’t bench bad players puts them on IR. Gets his guys paid so they can loaf. I want a boss just like him.

Explain your logic here cos it’s missing. You’ve got 2 opposites in the same sentence.

WTF
December 16th, 2025 at 10:44 pm
So is Bowles admitting they haven’t executed 50 million time this season? I know he’s not trying to say they have, right? That would require him thinking bucs fans are blind and dumb. It’s as much a bad scheme as it is players not executing. You can’t ask your players to line up 10 yards off the receiver on 3rd and 5 and expect to get a stop. This guy’s is blaming his players and gaslighting the fan base.
December 16th, 2025 at 10:49 pm
I think the Bucs can make the playoffs and Bowles can still be fired at this point. Division titles are great but at this point getting embarassed in the wild card is not excusable. Can only imagine this is highly plausible when we play the Seahawks or Rams..
December 16th, 2025 at 10:50 pm
Yeah it’s more of the same thing. Just seems to me there’s a lack of drive to execute the details. At this point all signs point to Bowles being the issue. The players have to shoulder the blame of course because they’re the ones making the plays on the field, but we’ve seen these guys do great things.
High drive players in a system they believe in don’t make the little mistakes. They don’t continue to make the same mistakes. They play until the clock hits zeroes and I just don’t see it from this group lately. Time for change.
December 16th, 2025 at 11:02 pm
I guess some of the players can’t find a reason to “prolong the inevitable”.
December 17th, 2025 at 12:02 am
Again I point out to all the dullards who want the Bucs to lose… what makes you think Bowles is getting fired?
Baker has one year left and wants a huge new payday. The Bucs have Godwin on a big deal. They will almost certainly bring back Evans. Vita will be 31 years old. If the Bucs hire a new coach, unless it’s something like trading for Tomlin, it’s almost certainly going to mean tearing down the team and rebuilding. If they’re going to do that, they’ll likely give this core roster one more year before doing so, then blowing it up.
Also you dummies need to realize when the team is blown up, it means many years of losing, and you same dopes complaining right now about being in 1st place, will be talking about right now as the good old days when we’re 7 years into a rebuild and coming off a 5-12 season.
Talk about spoiled whiny crybabies. Not a single person talking like the Bucs are 2-10 right now went through the 80s and 90s grind, if you did, you’d realize how dumb all these people whining right now sound, and you’d know what is coming up next.
Hope that Baker gets hot, carries the team and finally doesn’t choke in the 4th quarter of a playoff game. The team was literally built to win on offense, not to have to keep opponents under 20 points a game to have a chance. If Baker gets hot, it can carry the team really far. If Baker plays like he has the last two weeks, then who knows if they win again this year. But realize that Baker and Bowles are tied together, if one goes, the other is likely gone as well.

Todd “fast start” Bowles needs to retire. His message is falling on deaf ears on HIS side of the ball..multiple coaches have come in and had success with our O talent, yet the D let us down time and again
No one is whining, we have eyes and common sense
And no, being mediocre to kinda good is not what anyone should strive to attain…
Been a fan since 76 when Dad took me to my first game so I know exactly what a coach thats time has run out looks like
December 17th, 2025 at 4:30 am
After the bye it wasn’t all the defense either. Something got lost after. I don’t fully blame Todd. He’s frustrated for sure. Todd is a great guy and you can tell how much he cares. He has times of fire, and that is okay too. But most of the time he does it away from the cameras. Yes, there are “bad apples” and he and Jason should take care of that.
Only my opinion, but I would rather have an even keeled temperament coach on the sidelines than a coach that looks like they are having a breakdown yelling and screaming on the sidelines. Heck, that Eagles coach acted like a crybaby on sidelines at times, which took over the story instead of the game. He also yelled at fans. That is more embarrassing than a coach at a podium letting his frustration out. We could have it far worse right now.

Everyone knows why he was enraged. Because he knows that loss means he will get fired.
December 17th, 2025 at 6:19 am
in the grand scheme of fifty years a two game losing streak is not a reason to jump off the band wagon. the falcons are better with cousins and should have lost. the saints are trending up and have a decent defense-inexcusable losses but not impossible on ‘any given sunday in the nfl’ the defense can’t stop anybody since the patriots game, there is reason to believe based on the recent past bryce young will have a record setting game sunday but to say you want your beloved bucs to lose bc you want the coach fired when you still have a chance is crazy! they most likely will lose Sunday bc that’s what they’ve been doing lately, then lose to the dolphins and your out or make the playoffs and get beat in rnd 1 whatever the glazers fired Dungy for less- …unless the bucs go deep in the playoffs todd is gone now get ready for Sunday
December 17th, 2025 at 6:24 am
Seems to me that at times, some members of the defense do not realize that they need to play whatever the coverage is differently depending on down and distance. For instance, you do not release the receiver to the cover 2 safety before he gets to the first down sticks on 4th and 14. You keep him in front of you. Might be different on first and ten or third and two.

Munch is right. Although I would love to be a Superbowl contender every year, I definitely remember the bad years and am super happy that I have a team that still has a chance to make the playoffs at the end of the year.
Five years in a row is remarkable when you put the history of this team in perspective. Let’s make it six!
Anything can happen in one game, so the playoffs is the short time goal of the entire regular season. If people recall, the Bucs were underdogs in both of their Superbowl victories, as they were in several of the playoff games leading up to the big dance.

Other than maybe Vita name one player that is having a great year for the Bucs. Off and on a few players had great games this year but then they disappear. If you want to know what went wrong is it starts with the offensive and defensive lines. If they are playing poorly the team will not do well. The defensive line does not get pressure with a four man rush on passing downs and yet the better teams are successful without blitzing on every passing down. The offensive line does not create a gap for the ball carrier so the running backs try to go wide to get yards and mostly fail. That creates third and long situations which is not ideal. According to some here it’s all the fault of one player. This is a team game.

Bowles will meet his fate soon enough. Nothing we say, or think will make a difference. It’ll be a business decision. Right now Bowles would be a tough sell to the fans if he’s retained. You saw Joe’s poll, the fans have spoken. Good luck selling tickets if he’s brought back. Good luck getting primetime games with a 1-10 record in said games. I was embarrassed last Thursday night, the Glazers had to be too. All good, and bad things must come to an end. Let’s start the next 50 years with a brand new beginning. Fire Todd, and Licht.
December 17th, 2025 at 7:42 am
Bowles will never win with those who hate him, it is like whoever is President half the people will love or hate no matter what they do. I heard he needed to jump the players butts like Arians so he does and now its fake…I am in favor of canning Bowles but at the same time the season has to playout and as we see week after week anything in the NFL can happen.
December 17th, 2025 at 7:53 am
Bye Bowles you have 3 weeks of employment left.
December 17th, 2025 at 9:08 am
With the playoffs on the line you can’t keep the team focused especially at this point in the season cya Todd.
December 17th, 2025 at 9:16 am
I think Todd goes all Woody Hayes for the next 3 games, and starts punching guys out – hahahaha
December 17th, 2025 at 9:31 am
I don’t understand how people want him to go for the 4th, but then get mad he goes for the 4h do y’all want him to or naw. Damned if he do and don’t
December 17th, 2025 at 9:58 am
I’m really torn on how to take it because I’d like for them to make the playoffs but if they make it I doubt they’d make it past that first game & I’d hate for them to get embarrassed & all. But in a way I feel like it might be better if they did miss the playoffs because maybe they might consider doing something then because if they make the playoffs more than likely the same thing is gonna keep happening. We’ll get the same thing for the next couple of years because nothing would change then.
