Todd Bowles Delivers A Profanity-Laced Rant

Tonight Todd Bowles channeled one of his mentors, Bruce Arians.
Whoa!!
Joe would say tonight’s postgame rant from Todd Bowles came a few weeks too late. Joe also now understands another aspect to why Todd Bowles and Bucco Bruce Arians are such great friends.
Tonight, after the brutal choke job against a bad and sloppy Falcons team in Tampa, Bowles let down his guard at his postgame news conference and fans saw the fiery competitor behind the mask.
“Inexcusable. You don’t make excuses. You gotta fuc*’n care enough where the sh*t hurts,” Bowles said. “
You gotta fuc*’n care enough where the sh*t hurts. Gotta fuc*’n mean something to you. It’s more than a job; it’s your fuc*’n livelihood. How well do you know your job? How well can you do your job? You can’t sugarcoat that sh*t. It was in-a-fuc*’n-excusable. And there’s no fuc*’n answer for it. No excuse for it. That’s what you tell them in the locker room. Look in the fuc*’n mirror.”
The tough talk sounds nice, but the message hasn’t been getting through.
Joe agrees with Bowles. Inexcusable! And it sure sounds like Bowles has far too many players who don’t care enough. Joe’s not saying the players don’t care, just that they collectively are softer than they need to be.

Then we weren’t able to make a couple of first downs to run the clock……
So….the offense had a chance to close it out and didn’t.

I appreciate his candor for once, but those are meaningless words when none of them are directed at him. That is his team out there that he has been coaching for years.
If they aren’t in the correct position then they either weren’t coached to be in the right position or they don’t respect their coach enough to make sure they’re in the correct position. Damning either way.

I hope Todd’s including himself in that looking in the mirror comment. During the postgame locker room interview it sounded like he took no responsibility for his awful defense…he said the scheme should have worked, but the players didn’t execute. Either way, it’s his job to have the correct scheme and have his players execute it correctly.

If I were the Glazers I would be furious at this profanity from a man who is clearly out of and a coach who has lost control of this team. Football is marketed as a family friendly sport and there is absolutely no place for this kind of profanity laced language from a man who has said how his team is molded as a values oriented group. Mr Bowles shame on you. You owe us all an apology before you turn in your resignation.

4th quarter lead, throwing a terrible INT, then getting the ball back, still with a chance to win the game, and making more bad throws and taking a sack, knowing that if you punt, you lose the game.
Yes, it was 100% on Baker, 2nd week in a row it was 100% on Baker.
If your MVP QB has the ball in his hands, chance to win the game or put the game away, you expect them to do that. Instead, he failed. Two weeks in a row, with 1st place on the line.

Even if you win that game somehow on a missed field goal, it’s the same tendencies that got that game to where it was. This is officially the worst loss. Worse than to the browns in ‘22 (the very game I knew Bowles should be cannon balled into oblivion, professionally), same kind of in-game circumstances. We know that Todd cares, but how many of the players do? He has lost his locker room, it is obvious. Now the question is why? Is it a misjudgment of character by Licht and Bowles or did the players on defense realize Todd cannot coach effectively or is it that they are untalented????? That is a question for the new head coach to sort out.

Good quarterbacks with this many weapons would have been closed this game out early in the 4th quarter. And the funny part is that Baker has a way better team than Jamies had top to bottom.

The refs had some bad calls, and some non-calls. That fumble was ours and so much more. It was a heart-breaker. Mike, Chris, Izien, and others were awesome. With all the penalties that the Falcons had, they should not have won. There were a lot of positives. And seeing all the Bucs fans at the stadium was awesome to see.

This defense plays with an undeserved arrogance which started after our Superbowl win. They believe they are great, led by a defensive genius. They are individually, extraordinary talents but are not able to coordinate that talent to play at a consistently high level. This did not start this year, it started the year after our super bowl win in my opinion. I personally am very tired of not being able to trust that they will deliver and I believe part of the problem is that they all still believe they are better than they are able to show on the field.

Well, moving forward whoever is in charge needs to unload all the quitters for draft picks. This collapse is so disappointing. Six weeks ago we were a superbowl contender. Now we are a doormat for the worst teams in the league. Something bad happened during the break and a cancer has set in. Someone needs to figure it out and cure it. Get it out of the locker room now. I didn’t think this could happen. Perhaps a miracle turnaround can happen too.

Todd should have directed his profanity laced rant in the mirror while he was looking at himself. This team can’t tackle anybody. They can’t cover anybody. They can’t pressure anybody, and they can’t protect our QB. I said for weeks now that this team could no longer rise above the bad coaching by Bowles, and the refusal by Jason Licht to address in the draft the things that cost us the past 3 seasons, and now this one. No pressure and no pass rush which allows opposing QB’s to pick our pathetic secondary apart. Baker again went in front of the podium and took the blame while our coach again allowed him to, while being so delusional that he can’t grasp that he is the ultimate problem. Todd and Jason HAVE TO GO. They have not put the best interests of this team first. Grizzard has not done a great job but I would give him a second chance with better fellow coaches around him.

We can’t tackle. We can’t pressure anyone. We can’t cover anyone, and we can’t protect our QB!!! Does that sound like a quarterback issue Rod Munch or a Baker problem? This loss is squarely on the shoulders of Todd and Jason Licht. Todd because his coaching his horrible coaching, and Jason for refusing to address the needs of this team in the draft, in particular the things that cost us the last 3 seasons and now this one. No pressure or pass rush which allows opposing QB to pick our pathetic secondary apart. Playcalling is bad but I would give Grizzard another chance with better fellow coaches around him. The Panthers and the Jags have greatly improved this season after hiring former BUCS coaches and the BUCS have greatly regressed the second half of this season. That = COACHING, and it shows that this team can no longer rise above the bad coaching.
