Todd Bowles Collapse Is Nearing

December 12th, 2025

A week ago the Bucs were struggling but hadn’t lost to a bad football team all year.

Now they’ve lost two games in a row at home to sadsack division rivals. And the Bucs’ defensive mistakes have been repetitive, as if the unit isn’t capable of learning or adjusting.

That’s what Joe calls a collapse — the rotten cherry on top of Tampa Bay starting the season 5-1 and freefalling now to a 7-7 record.

Head coach/defensive coordinator Todd Bowles presides over this mess. Yeah, yeah, Bowles has to coach it better and the players have to play it better. But Joe is sick of that Bowles cliché.

Did the Bucs not have enough talent to beat the Saints and/or Falcons? Regardless of the Bucs’ mess of injuries, including starting two backup guards tonight, Joe is absoultey sure they had enough bodies to win. But the ylost.

That falls very hard on Bowles.

Bowles’ strength as a head coach has always been an ability to keep the Bucs together and resilient. The latter hasn’t been around this team since October.

If Bowles cannot right this sinking ship in 2025, Joe’s not sure why anyone would have confidence, hope or expectation that he could next year.

    resign

  2. BucYou Says:

Bowles walks the plank after that one. They’ll let him finish the season, but that was the last straw.

Who are the realistic candidates to replace him next season? Anyone from the McVay tree?

  3. Brent Clark Says:

Need to move on with new leadership if we miss the post season…..

  4. Derek Says:

No way he can come back next year unless they finish 10-7. And that’s not happening

  5. Bubby Says:

    Good bye, Mr. Bowles.

  6. Greg- therealone Says:

Wow… I feel terrible they lost. But I am glad the implosion is coming.

  7. Bee Says:

For some reason people wanted to give Bowles a pass when he lost to a rookie in.the wildcard at home. Competent fans saw this a long time ago. It was clear before the season there was no pass rush but the media said this was a superbowl roster. Lol…

Its time to clean house. New HC and QB to start

  8. adam from ny Says:

bring chucky in and just ask him to steer the ship without major changes for the final 3 games

  9. Tucker Says:

Joe do you honestly think this team can beat the panthers? I think we can all admit this is done.

  10. Gbobucsfan Says:

Is Bowles a Super Bowl winning coach???? NO….fire him now

  11. Stallworth Says:

We need to hire Matt Burke as soon as possible.

  12. ElioT Says:

He’s done and so is Jason

    Everyone knows it’s.

    Time for a change

  13. adam from ny Says:

if i’m bowles i jump on the first plane to thailand…

    party like a rock star…

then blow my brains out all over the bed and walls of my slum hotel room
(sounds like a blowzo plan to me)

  14. Obvious Says:

I would imagine Joe was at the post game PC. I watched from the RayJay concourse. Did that seem like a guy capable of motivating his team to win even one more game this season?

I get you will have to cover the team until last call but it’s over. And mercifully so. He’s never been the right guy IMHO.

  15. gotbbucs Says:

The Glazers should be unbelievably embarrassed. They gave this guy an extension before the season. Lord help us all if that encourages them to ride it out for another year.

  16. Jarrett Says:

    Yo Joe

Remember I was the only Bucs fan vouching for Devin White

I saw bro is literally gonna lead the NFL in tackles this year, like already over 130 tackles.

You guys said Devin White was the problem etc, he’s selfish etc

Yall said trust in Bowles. I thought it was insane Bucs got rid of a former #5 overall pick and Super Bowl champion

Stop building this team around church dudes “I am that man” nonsense

  17. unbelievable Says:

Joe is still delusional with his misplaced hope.

This team is dunzo. They’ve been broken since the Detroit game.

The defense has completely quit on Bowles. The offense is a mess, the o-line sucks, Baker is broken.

You see how p!ssed Mike Evans was at the end of the game? And rightfully so. Works his tail off to come back for this embarrassing soft garbage?

Todd Bowles should be a dead man walking. HE IS DONE. THIS TEAM IS GARBAGE UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP.

  18. Simeon4HOF Says:

And the former came all the way unraveled 2nite

  19. Rod Munch Says:

Don’t forget Baker, two weeks in a row, ball in his hands and can win the game, and he fails both times like it’s the 4th quarter of a playoff game.

  20. Sly Pirate Says:

The crowd was chanting “Fire Bowles” after the game on Prime Time.

    4-14. 3-28.

  21. common sense Says:

bowles does need to go, but please point out that the bucs have only 2 games left. at this point, we just need to sweep the panthers. the dolphins game should be treated as a bye week with little care for the win. win next week and the only game that matters is week 18.

  22. Simeon4HOF Says:

It’ll be the players that keep themselves 2gether if they somehow change

  23. SBucs Says:

No way no how. The Glazers are in the business to make a profit. Losing games is not good for business.

  24. Regulator16 Says:

Haven’t heard this scrub accept any responsibility for pathetic play calling! Man up

  25. Tony Says:

I didn’t even pick them in this game I ended up picking Atlanta.

    Yo Joe

Remember I was the only Bucs fan vouching for Devin White

    ———-

Yeah, you remember wrong. There’s literally no one that was higher on White, including saying trade for him THIS year since he’d cost almost nothing and fill a huge need with his speed.

  27. Stallworth Says:

    Jarrett Says:
“Stop building this team around church dudes “I am that man” nonsense”

Agreed, Warren Sapp wasn’t that man when he was first drafted either. If it wasn’t for him not wanting to be called the YUCKS we might not have won the super bowl.

  28. Greg Says:

It’s too late, Coen’s success will be haunting us for years.

  29. Doctor_Berto Says:

Sure missing Coen at this point

  30. Stallworth Says:

    3-28 -> 4-14 -> 1-10 -> Game Over

  31. gotbbucs Says:

Cousins last three games vs the Bucs 11TDs -1 Int
His 14 games against other teams in the span 9TDs-14 Ints

  32. adam from ny Says:

on amazon prime…during the release of the bucs 10 part series…!

arguably one of the 3 worst days in bucs history

  33. Tucker Says:

I’m sure glazers are making calls probably started after the loss to the saints

  34. Coburn Says:

Feel bad for Evans. He was pissed and played well. Looking forward to hopefully a new HC and better coordinators in all 3 phases. I feel like we do have some talent. Imo Licht should stay. Bowles was forced on him and he’s for decent in drafts

  35. Coburn Says:

And yeah I have no idea how anyone could justify him keeping his job after this slide. Not sure we win any more games this year

  36. HC Grover Says:

The owners will keep Bowzo. Bet the ranch. He will win at least 1 more game. He will either eek in the division or a close second to the Panters…My bet is that we get to enjoy 1 more year of Bowzo no matter what. Owners like .500 seasons.

  37. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I still hope we win out and win the division……that’s just in my DNA….the fate of Todd Bowles is not in my hands. Neither is winning…..only hope is what I can control….and I still have that.

  38. Obvious Says:

BucYou – there LaFluers brother in LA and Kubiak in Seattle. The former doesn’t call plays, obviously.

There’s also Declan in Chicago. He also doesn’t call plays but Peyton and Johnson swear by him. He’s also a Ditka nephew.

I’d most certainly prefer a young offensive mind. Declan intrigues me because of the Peyton connection.

  39. Tucker Says:

Glazers have got to be fuming to be beat like that at this moment with the docu series.

  40. ElioT Says:

Probably the worst .500 team ever.

    Terrible

  41. BucVoyager Says:

Bailing on the blitz on that 3rd down killed us. Alarm bells went off as soon as I saw the db back pedal

  42. Mtbucsfan Says:

There’s no way we beat the Panthers! They are way better coached than us!! Just imagine how good we would be with a coach like Canales or Coen. If only wr ever had a chance at a coach like them!!!! Meanwhile Bill is in Chapel Hill waiting for a call lol.

  43. Rod Munch Says:

The team HAS to win on offense. You can’t throw a terrible 4th quarter INT with the lead. We also knew that when there’s 3 mins left, the ball is given back to Baker and we all know if they punt, the Bucs lose the game. Literally everyone knew that, and Baker couldn’t get it done. Second week in a row.

The defense is terrible, that is a given. The team was built to win on offense. We knew that going into the game. And Baker made HUGE game losing mistakes in the 4th quarter.

But hey, at least he’ll always be the week 6 MVP. Someone should have shirts made up of that, can be the new bag on the head.

  44. Jarrett Says:

Adam from ny is way outta line with that last comment smh

  45. VOT Says:

This is a team with a great deal of talent that is being wasted by a piss poor coaching staff

Give this same group to McVay or LaFluer or McDermott and we win 12 games….

  46. HC Grover Says:

Why is anyone surprised we are sitting at .500 with only a few games left….What has Grover been saying all year??? Bowzo is a .500 coach for any team or plaers. It is the Bowles Way! The Bowlezone….

  47. I Remember 21 Says:

That’s a pretty measured tone after what we’ve just watched Joe… Is bowles rubbing off on you?

  48. Let ‘em bake Says:

No zyon or Tykee… it showed the last possession. And yes, baker had some good throws, but two critical misses late hurt. If that last pass to emeka is on target, the game is over. To his credit, he owned it.

  49. Rod Munch Says:

I still hope we win out and win the division……that’s just in my DNA…

    ———–

It’s not out of the question, if the Bucs win out, they still win the division, regardless of what else Carolina does. However it also wouldn’t shock me if Carolina gets beat by the Saints as well, it’s not like they’re a good team– yet, they’re young, and inconsistent, so I can totally see beating the Rams then losing to the Saints.

But back to the Bucs … if you want to get past the rage, the Bucs offense, outside of Baker choking in the 4th quarter, finally looked half-way decent, and Atlanta can be a good defense at times. If the timing with Baker and Evans and McMillan gets better – the offense can score points. If Baker doesn’t make the huge 4th quarter INT today, the Bucs win, and traditionally Baker doesn’t screw up like that — unless it’s the playoff game vs the Lions.

Also, again if you’re trying to do the bright side… Also, the Bucs were missing TWO defensive backs tonight, in Zyon and Smith. When we played the Seattle defense, which has mostly been great this year, when they, before the Bucs game, lost two starting DBs before that game, we saw what the Bucs did to them. So if we get both guys back, that’s a big deal, along with getting Dennis back.

So, again, there is hope. The Bucs STILL control their own destiny, even with this L, and the offense looks ALMOST there, finally. So if you want hope, there is some legit, tiny, amount of hope.

  50. Frank Pillow Says:

Every single Bucs fan knew how this game was going to end. It was inevitable. Don’t waste anymore time being angry. This team doesn’t deserve our passion. They deserve our apathy. APATHY! Just like what we saw/felt from the chewed up bag of marshmallows pretending to play football tonight.

How can 13 appear to be the only player giving a hoot?!?! 31, you took the $ and ran. 50, thanks for the double penalties. 27, see 31. 90, your biggest impact was ending Jensen’s career. 35, slip much? 6, let me introduce you to the concept known as accuracy b/c you have none. 62, you might’ve been the only dude wearing roller skates tonight. 14 and 11, just flab you both can walk away. 88, this was your most beneficial performance of the season. 21, you still here?
8, blameless and I’m sure your giving everyone the Nixon line right about now (you still stink). 5, nice cameo. Grizz, throwing it back to Jeff Tedford. Todd, is that you or Mike Smith? I can’t tell anymore. Jason, enjoy the wings and beer.

  51. Cobraboy Says:

Generations will be remembering The Great Bucs Post-Bye Collapse of 2025…

  52. Rocketman Says:

Thoroughly inept season ticket holders who jumped on with Brady will bail out after this debacle. The Glasers must be totally embarrassed by this. Time for a new coach ad a new GM.

  53. Cobraboy Says:

Kitties on the rise, Bucs falling off a cliff.

    Do the math.

  54. MelvinJunior Says:

With everything else going down, did anyone else notice that “The Godson” Morrison was a “healthy scratch” AGAIN!? Hell, he’s been practicing for at least the last TWO-WEEKS. Pathetic. Todd’s protecting him. T-KRASS saying the personnel on this team is “NOT GOOD ENOUGH.” He is correct. We have very little ‘HIGH-END’ TALENT, especially on Defense. That is still young anyway. ZERO FREAKS. NO DAWGS. Bowles is CLUELESS. And he been since Day #1 and it has been SO OBVIOUS for anyone to see. He’s just NOT a good coach. PERIOD. I still cannot get over the large number of people on here, who WANTED HIM (61-years old, etc. ETC.) over COHEN, the 39-year old genius ‘Offensive’ PLAY-CALLER, & etc. etc. MIND-BLOWING.

  55. LANshark Says:

    COOKED – TOTALLY COOKED

  56. Inwoodjeremy Says:

I’m calling it now. Todd announces he retires at end of year. That’s how you will see it in the breaking news section scrolling across the bottom of TV. +100 ✓

  57. MelvinJunior Says:

Oh, and I meant to add… It is ALL ON BOTH, Lickt AND Bowles. PERIOD. And I have NEVER SEEN BEFORE, just how many people on here, have SLUPED every last drop of Lickt.

  58. Obvious Says:

However Todd leaves is fine with me. Don’t need him to be canned, retirement is just fine.

  59. IE Bucs Says:

    BucYou says:

“Who are the realistic candidates to replace him next season? Anyone from the McVay tree?”

Rams DC Chris Shula is a rising hotshot young coach. Future star HC. Comes from a football pedigree family.

You can pair him with an offensive Rams tree coach like passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase. We interviewed Nate Scheelhaase for OC in the off-season but went with the disaster that has been Grizzard.

  60. FortMyersDave Says:

Joe is making it sound like the collapse has not already happened. That ship has sailed. It is all over but the crying.
