“Still Sifting Through”
December 25th, 2025With 9+ months to prepare, the Bucs are still figuring things out when it comes to one area of the team.
That sound you heard was Joe rifling blunt objects at Ira Kaufman’s mahogany desk at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters.
Joe could not believe what Todd Bowles said on his official team radio show this week.
A Bucs dream/plan/fantasy became reality recently when receivers Jalen McMillan, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka joined running backs Bucky Irving, Rachaad White and Sean Tucker healthy on the field together two games ago.
Firepower! That’s the group the coaches expected to unleash on defenses when the 2025 offseason kicked off, along with then-rising tight end Cade Otton.
Despite all that time to prepare, Bowles said this week the Bucs are still figuring it out. They scored just 20 points Sunday against Panthers team that was allowing 23 per game.
“I think we’re still sifting through how to get all these guys touches at the same time between JMac and Mike and Chris and Mecca and Cade and Bucky, Rashad and Sean, “Bowles said. “So we gotta do a better job of making sure everyone has their plays designed when they go in there and make sure we execute ’em.”

Well, they do a fine job with the quick pass to a wr (that typically goes nowhere) for about 8-10 times a game so they have that crappy play down.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

If the coaches can’t figure it out, change the coaches. No excuses with that kind of talent.

such a promising season we waited nine months for is now circling the drain and most likely not going to match or exceed last season. going in we had super bowl aspirations with new edge rusher hassan reddick we would see an improved defense. the bucs came out of the gate flying but now they are in a tail spin. scary time to be a bucs fan, what lies ahead? more painful losses? a complete rebuild? hof receiver leaving for a contender? what the he** happened? only the bucs could go into the biggest nose dive in all of sports during their celebrated 50th season. save us Tom Brady!!

Merry Christmas, well, I guess throwing the ball would help. On the other hand guess it is really nice to have all arsenal, but yes I get it figure out how to use it. I still say pass it to someone you have the weapons. Like they say in soccer you cant score if you don’t shoot. Maybe use the pass to set up the run and yes get White more touches in the run , pass game. Presently he is the best running back on the team, but they leave him in the shed parked way to often. You can’t win a car race when the car is on the sideline.

I asked Santa that the Bucs not lose today on Christmas. Even though we don’t play today, I’m concerned we’ll somehow take an L.

In all fairness, usually teams figure it out throughout the early part of the season which we didn’t have a chance to do because of injuries at the position. If this weekend isn’t a showcase of the talent we have on offense then it’s a failure of coaching. More specifically, offensive game planning and playcalling.
Throughout the year it’s a common theme of Grizzard to run a screen or reverse of some kind right after a big play. Usually this has resulted in losses or no gains. His play calling has no rhythm.
This week and next Grizzard will be coaching for his job. I don’t think the same for Bowles.

Inept coaching. That ronde barber interview got me seeing ghosts.

Coaching during the game for OC is mainly picking plays off the play sheet and radio it to Mayfield. Bowles makes the game plan and OC follows it. Out sit rep is Bowzo as HC-DC-OC

What’s happened to Tez? Multiple TDs this year but now he seems to be on the bench.

HC Grover simply not true. Do some research on what an OCs responsibilities are please.

And again I ask, why would the Glazers keep this guy around another year? His regular season record as the Buccaneers head coach is 34-32 right now and the NFC South has been abysmal his whole tenure.

Trying to make sure all those players get touches and specifically designing the offense to ensure everybody gets touches is a recipe for disaster. How about designing an offense to attack a defense and distributing the ball accordingly. If that means a lot of touches for just a few players, so be it. Using three backs situationally is a perfect example. All this does is broadcast your play calling. The more I hear from Bowles & the coaches, the less confident I am in their ability to right the ship.

Mayfield 19 completions, 41 yards against the Rams
Mayfield 30 completions, 122 yards against the Saints
Mayfield 18 completions, 145 yards against the Panthers
That’s 67 completions for a PATHETIC 308 yards
Those are below Pee Wee League passing stats

Arians, Brady, Canales, Coen – all names that have been carrying Todd for quite some time
He has run out of cover and absolutely destroyed one of the most promising rosters we have had since the last SB team
Time for Todd to go

I understand impatience. I understand frustration. But the way all these trolls are screaming to change out the coaches slays me.
Changing the coaches is the NFL’s oxymoron move and has been for decades, Example Browns,Jets,Raiders ,Pamthers, take your pick. Ever notice how the teams changing coaches and QBs never seems to win anything. Teams that retain their coaches are perennial contenders.
Nope to me changing out the Coach if he cannot produce overnight success is like buying yourself a new pair of Nikes and expecting them to make you run faster. It won’t and we see the results year after year with the same teams.
WE all know the Bucs are capable of playing great on any given. Why they have not done so recently is mainly a matter of the guys getting synchronized again, It will happen very soon.
One thing more Baker has been too nervous and wound up and it is causing him to overplay and overcompensate. Bake take a chill pill and settle down. You will get into that danger zone again and then it will be Katy bar the door.
Go Bucs

I’m giving them too much credit
It was 9 completions against the Rams
14 completions against Saints
18 completions against the Panthers
Which came to a Pathetic 41 completions for 308 yqrds

Well put

westernpennafan tell me how changing out the coach for the Bears went this season. Patriots? Jag’s? I understand what you’re saying and agree that the knee jerk reaction is to fire the HC and move on, which is either good or bad. Consistency at HC is good for a team. BUT, with the 3rd mid-season swoon in a row, and the biggest one yet, that just can’t be ignored. I gave Bowles credit for the last 2 years for helping right the ship and sited his steady hand as the reason for that. But that being said this year is inexcusable. We had injuries every year, the last 2 very hard, but so has San Francisco and they have what, 11 wins? The buck {BUC} has to stop somewhere. Are we that void of talent to make good plays? No one on this team has really stepped up this year. Earlier, yes but since the bye week, after they lost to NE they have turtled.

im still trying to figure out why im watching going to games and reading this self abuse?
December 25th, 2025 at 11:46 am
West fan, what the he!! have you been watching this year? Or, what have you been watching the last 3-4 years? Same story. Offense plays well enough to win and the defense (ah, the responsibility totally on Bowles) gives it up to lose the game time after time.
Evans said it for all to hear: “Third and 24 (or was it 34?) and fourth 14!” as he slams his helmet on the ground.
That, everyone, what every sane thinking Buc fan thought when it went down. How do you expect players to lay and and risk injury and see the results of their efforts fly out the window.
Do it, Glaziers, do it!

@Westernpenn – is that what your stock broker tells you when your stocks make no money for 3 years straight? You have to cut the cord sometimes. You can’t hang on to the losers. Bowles will not get us there. It is a model of mediocrity not excellence. Move on from this slow motion train wreck.
