Bucs fans are six days from a showdown in Charlotte.
One of the most impotent and inconsistent teams in the NFL, the Panthers, will face a spiraling Bucs team whose defense seemingly turns duds into studs every week.
Here’s a mind-boggling Panthers stat in the modern NFL: Starting quarterback Bryce Young has thrown for less than 200 yards in a game in 10 of his 13 starts this year.
That’s a massive number, one that reflects the Panthers’ limited weapons and Young’s inconsistency and issues pushing the ball downfield.
Yes, the Panthers have a solid running game, but it’s certainly not special. And it definitely wasn’t good yesterday against the slimy Saints in a game the Panthers led deep into the fourth quarter. Young led the team in rushing with his season-high 49 yards.
CBS NFL insider Pete Prisco, who made the Bucs his preseason pick for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, is stunned by Young’s poor passing production and acknowledges the Panthers don’t have a deep stable of weapons.
Prisco is not excited by the prospect of a key Bucs-Panthers showdown Sunday in Charlotte.
“The defense can’t stop anybody,” Prisco said of Tampa Bay. “But the problem with Carolina, they don’t throw the ball well enough. Something has to give next week.”
So what is going to give? Well, Joe’s confident the Bucs will give up a lot of yardage and the Bucs will move the ball. Beyond that is a mystery.

It’s all Lichts fault we’re in this position. Anyone who expected Bowles to become head coach and suddenly change his style wasn’t being realistic. Licht knows how to draft which makes him a good scout. He has no clue how to build a team which is why BA and Brady saved everyone in this building

I have zero reason to believe we will be motivated to win. As illogical as it sounds, it seems like a lot of the team has already packed it in for the season. Hopefully we get a good draft pick to add to this mess!

Question. If we lose this week to Carolina and Carolina beats Seattle next week do they clinch the division even if we somehow beat Miami? They would have the better conference record so would tiebreaker then go to them?

I am thinking our Defense should be aiming for some sacks and turnovers. If they do and our offense is playing top form, the Bucs will win this game. Hoping to also see Mike have a couple of touchdowns.

Better question might be, what Panther of NFL record can be set by Bryce Young against the Bucs. There is what will happen. It’ll be pitch and catch all day for Bryce. Not much confidence in this defence.

History shows that the Bucs defenses cures the woes on ANY teams offense! Bowles defenses always play not to lose (play loose coverage, allow catches underneath and hope the other team makes a mistake)!

one thing we do know is that Young will have his 2 best games of the season coming up in the next 3 weeks. Every year recently-it is the same movie. The Bucs Putrid Pass defense make everybody look great. It is very hard to watch game after game-year after year. Change on the Defensive side needs to happen before we all lose our minds. Go Bucs!

Hopefully the Glazers are looking at the division as a whole. Consideration has to be given for the Bucs being in such a crap division. If the Bucs were in a good division we wouldn’t be talking about playoffs we would be talking about draft position. This team is horrible in a horrible division. If the Bucs had a decent defense we would have already clinched this terrible division.

The Panthers play their best at home. And they are pissed off.
I suspect the just gotta get better crowd will perform at the expected level.
But the NFL is horribly unpredictable these days.
The best thing for Vegas is what will inevitably happen.

Regardless of the outcome this year Todd needs to be relieved of his duties as HC/DC. 2-10 record in prime time is enough to warrant his firing. Glazers will either do the right thing or you’re going to see a fan mutiny otherwise.

As a lifetime Buc fan and old man, I really do not care anymore. If us losing to Carolina will mean Todd Bowles is fired instantly? Then I say, GO CAROLINA PANTHERS. The quicker we get Bowles, his staff and licht gone? The better. Its way past time to turn the Page Buc fans. Tampa Bay is going absolutely nowhere under this present regime even if thy squeak out a divison championship.

The whole game will come down to are the Buccaneers players willing to give effort. They obviously are playing more like a team that wants to go on vacation early this year. Definitely need to get rid of some players that don’t want to be here. Trade them for draft picks bc Licht will find some gems willing to play.

Answer: Because night games are prime time. The TV chiefs want two good teams playing close games. Unfortunately, they then pick a good team to play an overrated team (us). So we are playing good teams at night. And, the results are in (1 in 8)!

Maybe this division is better than you think. Many top teams have been defeated by teams in the NFC South.
Injuries have plagued the Bucs, especially offensive injuries. I’m sure the injuries cost the Buccaneers a few wins.
Yes the defense had been atrocious in a lot of games. I’m confident that if somehow our defense can play better (I remember tying this last year). The Bucs can win a spot in the playoffs.
Whether you like to hear it or not, the goal of the NFL is to win the Superbowl, and in order to do that you have to be in the playoffs.

This Bucs team is not guarantee going to the playoff with the way they playing. The defense is a travesty and Baker is not himself what happens to the Baker in the beginning of the season. It is a mystery needing to be solve before it is too late. This team needs discipline and accountability for the way they playing the game. Bowles is not the head coach material sorry to say. Bucs needs somebody like Mike Vrable to take them to the next level.
