SirVocea Dennis Ruled Out For Thursday; Tykee Smith And Cade Otton Are Doubtful

December 10th, 2025

Safety Tykee Smith.

The headline is self-explanatory.

Todd Bowles said today SirVocea Dennis (bad hip) won’t play tomorrow night against the Falcons. Tykee Smith (neck/shoulder) and Cade Otton (knee) will be listed as “doubtful.”

Joe expects Mike Evans to return from his broken clavicle and Tristan Wirfs to play after missing Sunday’s game with an oblique injury. Evans still has to be activated from injured reserve.

  1. Lt. Dan Says:

Otton is ok at best this year. I’ve been wanting to see what Devin Culp all year. More of Payne Durham too.

  2. Marine Buc Says:

    T. Smith is the only one worthy of my concern.

We won’t miss Otton nor SVD…

  3. Defense Rules Says:

As the old saying goes … ‘When it rains it pours’.

Bucs have 3 OLine starters out, 1 starting TE out, a starting RB & QB who are both smarting, and I’ve given up trying to figure out our WR situation. It’s actually kinda of amazing that with all these injuries, all season long, AND with a new OC, our offense is averaging 23 PPG to this point. Far as I’m concerned, that’s a credit to Baker Mayfield. His performance has been very much up-and-down, but any QB’s performance would’ve been up-and-down under similar conditions.

With Tykee out, I assume that Christian Izien will replace him IF he’s even able to go. Izien was a DNP Monday, but a LP yesterday because of his neck. Bummer.

With SVD out, I’m assuming that Deion Jones will get the start, but that both Bullock & Jackson may get a look-see. Deion isn’t the future, but one of them may have a roll with this team moving forward.

  4. Football 1 Says:

Joe, don’t know that Dennis being out will hurt the team that much, Otten either. However not sure what kind of depth is behind Dennis. However his play is poor.
T Smith now that hurts!!. He is one of the real players on this sad D.
I would also like to see Culp play. He did some things last year. Put Durham in to block. I mentioned earlier I think both coaches are playing for their job, with the losing coach getting let go , with the extra time off. I just read that maybe a possibility on a Falcons website. While the Bucs surely have the better opportunity, that doesn’t seem to matter right now. They had a lot to play for last week and look what happened.
I expect as we all do that Cousins will light it up tomorrow. When you take that and the Bucs reputation for poor play in prime night games and Mayfield reputation of playing poorly at night it all leads to yet another Bucs loss.
Yes it sure would be nice to break that trend.
The best part will be getting Evans , J Mac and Godwin on the field at the same time. However, is that enough to bail out the D, well we can hope until tomorrow right.

  5. Bojim Says:

    Be gentle Kirk.

  6. Pewter Power Says:

Bucs got the L? This could be a toss up if tykee and Dennis don’t play. This defense is horrible with them on the field

  7. OneAndThree Says:

I see 509 Cousins going deep early and often on Bowles wide open Swiss cheese pass defense.

The run defense has been so bad I also see Robinson rolling up over 100 yards and likely a TD or two.

42 – 17 Falcons. Bowles last TNF as the Bucs HC.

Elimination game in a week and a half vs the Panthers.

  8. Tucker Says:

Kirk making space in the record books for another one bucs make that guy look like he is the best to ever do it.

  9. I Remember 21 Says:

We’re really gonna miss Smith. As much as you never want a player to get injured, we’ve had multiple situations (ex DW45) where it takes an injury to force bowles’ hand to trying out a new player. I’m excited to see some other guys get snaps at TE & MLB. That’s not to say I think we’ve got a bunch of pro bowlers on the bench, but we know what we have with Otton & SVD and IMO it’s nothing special.

  10. 813bucboi Says:

missing tykee smith will hurt us big time…

    oh well

    GO BUCS!!!!

  11. Kgh4life Says:

Bucs need tykee, this gonna be a blood bath. Zone defense here we come.

  12. First Last Says:

I’m really sad that we haven’t seen Devin Culp at all after his strong performance at the end of last year. This guy has Mike Evans speed and body type. He should be out there a lot more for those contested catches. We are delusional to think these 5’10 6′ foot guys are going to contest catches with long armed CB’s. WTF is this team doing!

  13. ThunderSack Says:

I was hoping John Bullock was going to be elevated now that Dennis is out, but saw Nick Jackson was instead. Both of those LBs showed a bit in the preseason.

  14. Permanently Moderated Says:

I’m already shell shocked. Uncle. Uncle.

  15. buc4evr Says:

Tykee being out is a problem. SVD is addition by subtraction. Would like to see Culp play more. Big opportunity for him if Grizz utilizes him correctly, which I doubt….

  16. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Time for Izien to step up and show out

  17. Bucman Says:

Panthers & Jags will be in the Super Bowel this year! They are thankful to Todd.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Nope

  19. BucsFan81 Says:

No big loss on Dennis. Dion Jones is better anyways and doesn’t matter who you put on this defense they don’t perform either way.

  20. Rod Munch Says:

Smith is out? Oh no. According to Todd Bowles rules of losing, if any DB is out, you must sit back in the softest zone possible the entire game. I said another 500 yard game by Cousins wasn’t going to happen – just because of the grass field and it slowing them down – now I’m not so sure.

Baker needs to actually, finally, show up for once as this could be a shoot out.

  21. Mj Says:

Put bullock in for svd! I will be very surprised if they win this game

  22. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Drake London has been ruled out for Thurs night……that certainly puts a dent in Cousins’ 509…..

He is their version of Mike Evans….

Evans return and London’s exit may open up the door for a win.

That is if we pass it more than 4 yards.

  23. I Remember 21 Says:

Lol @ Rod. Accurate description of how the D works. bowles’ rules of losing 😂

  24. SBucs Says:

Winning will come down to the two head coaches involved. Which coach will suck worse than the opposing coach. It’s a toss up. I do know for a fact that our Todd’s excuses will be excellent. He’s spent all week working on them.

  25. BucsfaninOregon Says:

Without Dennis we are losing nothing. Goodbye to this guy.

  26. Saskbucs Says:

Tykee out hurts. Thank god London is out, Cousins still putting up yards.

Not if Bowles sits back in his super soft stand around waiting for something to happen zone. Against that defense, any WR from high school to the pros can have a 200 yard day.

  28. LakelandSteve Says:

I don’t think the defense can play any worse with Dennis and Smith out. We already can’t make anyone punt the ball. It’s just how many plays will it take the other offense to score.

  29. Outrigger Says:

Tykee will be missed. Dennis and Otten not do much.

    ———–

They gave up 260 yards, got a TO and three sacks vs the Saints.

The three TDs they gave up were from the Saints 47, Bucs 48 and Bucs 46.

The idea the defense played an awful game on Sunday is pure nonsense – and yes, things can get a lot worse than giving up 144 yards passing with an interception.

  31. BucaneroJim Says:

Culp in his Bucs career is 5/6 with a 17.6 yards average. He plays like Evans. How do you not play the guy more? Sit Otten, let him heal and reflect on last Sunday.

  32. LawrenceDawsey Says:

My hip would hurt too if I had to turn that quick to watch people run right by me

  33. LawrenceDawsey Says:

Carpet Muncher- Teams play zone defenses all the time. It’s not super soft ya idiot, it’s guys missing their assignment or taking bad angles. Chargers won in OT Monday night playing zone. Todd can only coach so much. It’s the players you need to be dogin more

  34. MadMax Says:

Need two LB’s next draft, Sonny styles as MLB in the first and Whit Weeks as ILB in the 3rd.

DT Amouri Washington or Christen Miller with our 2nd.

  35. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Tbbf

London being out means nothing. These are the Buccaneers we’re talking about. ⭐️Star-makers⭐️ We can take an opponents street FA and make them All Pro in one night.

    Mark my words.

  36. garro Says:

Addition by subtraction. Dennis was a liability on Sunday.

    Go Bucs!

  37. Badbucs Says:

Pitts and Bijan could run free over the middle all night. Bowles has no answer. Grizz needs to have a good plan or the season is over.
