Congratulations, Bucs, you just lost to a horrible team at home. Unreal.
Tampa Bay is now 7-6 and in a tie for the NFC South lead with the dormant (bye week) Panthers. The Bucs and Panthers also are tied in the division tiebreaker scenarios, as the Panthers have one division loss just like the Bucs. The Saints (3-10) beat Carolina last month.
Sadly, the Bucs are not a good team.
Joe can’t underestimate the effect of the field conditions today, but the heavy rain and chewed up field were the same for both teams. Hell, the Saints are a dome team. It almost looked like the Bucs offense wasn’t prepared for it.
The running game was hard to figure out. Bucky Irving had a miserable day rushing until his 32-yarder late in the fourth quarter, but Rachaad White and Sean Tucker were very effective (18 carries for 82 yards). Why didn’t the Bucs stick with them?
Emeka Egbuka’s touchdown drop was crushing, and don’t get Joe started on playcalling. Baker Mayfield throwing for 122 yards while completing 14-of-30 pass attempts is a serious problem that’s not about the weather.
Joe will write soon about the Bucs’ ugly defense. This Saints team was averaging 12.9 points per game over its last seven games prior to today.
Man, this was a troubling loss, possibly one that shakes the core of the franchise. So inexcusable. Did the Bucs looking like the most ready and hungry team? Joe doesn’t think so.
The Saints just about never score on their opening possession. They did today.

The Bowles era looks like it’s coming to a close and Licht’s decision to stay loyal to him instead of Coen is a historical loss for a Tampa Bay team that hasn’t played a good game since at Seattle. How can the Glazers possibly sell the football and the personnel side of the organization to fans. Bucs are in bad shape going down the road unless they improve with a good HC and jettison the players cashing their checks and get a hungry team which Bowles and his soft zones and poor tackling players needs to move on.

Egbuka has fallen off, Baker has sucked for a month and our d can’t stop Jesuit HS offense. I like Bowles as a man but we need a shake up. Licht dropped the ball at trade deadline. He needs to grow a pair and make some moves this offseason. He’s been reading his headlines a little too much too. Lavonte is done and so is Reddick. I’m absolutely ready to put a paper bag over my head. Easily Baker’s worse game yet. 14-30 is 46%, pathetic. Offense is one big sloppy mess and how does this defense give up two touchdown runs by Tyler Shough. This team just lost to the laughing stock of the NFC South, just like the Bucs good old days before the Brady Era. I’m gonna throw a party once Evans and Mcmillan return, maybe it’ll change our dreams for another 10-7 season. I barely watched the game and just looking off ESPN, I could tell both Bowles and Grizzard called a terrible game. Easily Grizzard was the worst out of two. Now before you guys come out at me about the weather, the Saints play in a dome, we don’t. It was a challenge for both teams and the Saints who get it easy still pulled it off. I’ve never been this disappointed at the bucs, especially with these last few games. Bowles and Grizzard need a serious conversation in the worst way, as it could be possible we could lose to another division opponent at home. Fix yourselfs.

I’m beyond frustrated with this team. Five pre-snap penalties, a sloppy field that should have favored us, the Aint’s first drive after a run back to our 45 yd line, then the normal swiss cheese D.
More fire from a 2-10 team with less talent but more fire than us. The Jags are 9-4 with less talent but a real coach. Play calling by a 3rd grader.
This is so not me, but I hope we lose out, fire Bowles and his buddies, get a better draft spot and bring in a real coach.

This is what happens when bad organizations fail to make the right decisions. The Bucs had Liam Coen, the guy who crafted the best offensive output the Bucs have ever had, in their history! Odds are good that Bowles will make it to the end of the season, but I’m confident that the Glazers are just as disgusted at this point as all JBFers are. They, like most of us, have seen enough. Bowles & his coaching staff is gone.
I seriously doubt that this team can win the NFC South again this season, primarily because we’re tied at 7-6 with the Panthers and still have to play them TWICE. They’re not that good IMO, but they’re good enough to beat us TWICE. Heck, I’m not even sure we can beat the Falcons & Dolphins with the team I saw on the field today.

The team doesn’t need to be blown up. Teams are winning with a lot less talent! Todd has lost this team. They keep saying that the players love Bowles. That’s not what I see on the field. It’s very difficult to give your best effort when you feel that its fruitless. They simply do not believe in the defensive scheme.
The offensive players don’t have much motivation because they know that the opposing team will score. I had been very supportive of Bowles until he punted on 4th and 3 against Buffalo with 6 minutes in the game. I think he wanted hs defense to make a dramatic stop and get a dramatic win by Baker.

Every week I look and hope for improvement. Every week I face the same poor schemes and bad play calling. It doesn’t matter that we lost to another bad team. The truth is that this team now is not coached well enough to beat anybody.
I thought the Fins were the worst coached team in the NFL, but while I still would not want any of their coaching personnel, They still found a way to improve. Bowels only knows how to hang around and get a paycheck. There has to be a HS team somewhere that needs a coach like him…and the OC that can’t turn the page in the playbook.

@UnknownOutlier I’ve been saying this since day one. Not just the Brown but the Panthers both teams at their lowest and they both still gave him the boot. Baker is not “IT” no matter what.

Front Office sulked—mostly through innuendo and media plants—when Liam slipped into Jax. A clear-headed GM would’ve recognized Liam as the better long-term asset and moved on from Todd after another terrible defensive season. Instead, hubris left us in a mess.

Many of us advocated not to let cohen out of the building even if that meant taking the drastic move of firing Bowles.
It was the right call.

No creativity is on offense. Our defense is a personnel issue. The offense has no excuse. Gizzard has a lot to prove to keep his job.

The way Todd Bowles has his team playing, they will be lucky to win any of the remaining games! Doesn’t matter who comes back on offense! The problem is the HC and his lack of doing what is required to get his team prepared and making plays. A sad December is just starting! GLAZERS DO SOMETHING!!!!!!

We need a new Coach! Defense secondary can’t find their way out of a phone booth. A head Coach Unwilling to make changes.(WTF) Dude A rookie Offense Coordinator calling pop Warner plays…( Get fu@#=+g creative and watch other teams offense…oh an high school football team can do a better job of SPECIAL TEAMS.. ( hit somebody and stay in your lanes ) The whole team and owners act like they don’t care. ( people spent there hard earned money to see these so called Professionals)!! I won’t spend anymore $$ on this 💩💩TEAM
