“Moving A Lot Better”
December 10th, 2025It’s fair to say the Bucs’ season has no shot at glory if Baker Mayfield is injured.
Mayfield’s health has been a question mark through much of the year. There was the knee and the oblique, and now it’s the non-throwing-shoulder sprain.
Mayfield ran well against the Saints on Sunday and Todd Bowles told the team radio network that Mayfield’s health is on the rise. But his stats are not.
“I think in the last two weeks he’s been feeling a lot better,” Bowles said. “You can see him moving a lot better. He is not taking as many chances but when he does he makes some great runs for us. So, I’m very happy with his scrambling.”
The Mayfield scrambling is entertaining, but Joe would love to see it stop. Unfortunately, it’s been desperately needed in the Bucs offense.
To quote Bucco Bruce Arians last month on The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN TV: “Learn how to fuc*’n slide and get the hell out of bounds. This ain’t college. All these linebackers run 4.5, brother, and they do have bad intentions.”
Sadly, the Bucs injuries at both guard positions likely mean Mayfield will stay on the move.

This Atlanta game feels like the Bucs death kneel. Maybe this is the game that gets Bowles canned?
December 10th, 2025 at 8:38 am
Better start now. If they win out they get to 11 and own the tiebreaker s against Carolina.
December 10th, 2025 at 8:50 am
Marky Mark if they win out they won’t need to worry about the Tie breaker with Carolina for Carolina will not have 11 Wins if they get beat 2 times by The Bucs very confusing what you said there

Marky Mark
If they win out they won’t need the tiebreaker vs Carolina

Oh ye dirt bag couch potato trolls of little faith. Always assuming the worst outcome first.
Have you not witnessed how the Bucs rose from the depths of mid season slumps twice to seize the division.
Stop fretting like a bunch of know it all/know nothings.
Bucs will wrap division easily. Beginning with the terrible beating Cousins is going to take that should finish his career.
Enough of this loser talk.

I still have confidence in Baker. He tries hard all the time.
December 10th, 2025 at 8:52 am
Bakers running is largely the reason we had all those early wins…..but it’s his lack of passes beyond 4 yards that alarms me
December 10th, 2025 at 8:52 am
Can anyone tell me what bowle’s record with the jets was? Trying to figure out why he is no longer with them.
December 10th, 2025 at 8:59 am
Tampa baby fan Baker running recklessly is why he is injured and can’t throw beyond 4 yards. Very confusing what you said.. I never tied my comments to winning the division. I let out facts with no conclusion. The only confused person is yourself.
December 10th, 2025 at 8:59 am
Bakers scrambling should not continue to be your most effective plays week to week.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:01 am
“Learn how to fuc*’n slide”
Joe, did you see him slide vs the Saints? lol Bake went to the ground, but it was not a feet first slide, it was head first. That makes him a RB and very eligible to get hit hard. I am not sure Bake knows how to slide.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:01 am
Noticed Baker has the long sleeve over the one injured shoulder/arm vs the short sleeve on his throwing arm. The poor guy has truly been beat up.
Love Baker’s scrambling, but I do worry he is going to get severely hurt one of these times! He pours his heart into it all. With Baker’s quickness and attitude, years ago they probably would have used him as the QB and put him in as defense too!
December 10th, 2025 at 9:02 am
So many bad games this year, last week really topped it off, I mean the lack of effort was astounding. We need a complete reset on defense and and a more dynamic offensive coordinator.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:04 am
Well said Tucker. As,we can see from Lamar, the,DC kid , and Arizona guy running QBs get injured for long periods of time and their careers are over early. Brady did not run. Kaching….multiple super bowls and played til mid forty s. Don’t b run baker run.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:06 am
Sounds like Westernpennafan already drunk this morning thinking this Bucs team can rebound this year.
Not gonna happen…
We’ve had decent offensive gameplan the last few years that would offset our garbage defensive scheme….
This years different. We have a young OC who is WAYYYYYYYY over his head.
I don’t see it happening.
Time to blow up this coaching staff for good!!

Yes, the Bucs of days gone by went on runs bc the beat teams they were supposed to beat, like the worst team in the league called the Saints. And those team rose up to the occasion against as UNDERDOGS and beat GOOD teams on occasion like the Lions and Eagles, and this years Seahawks and 49ers.
This team has quit. If you don’t see that from your couch potato position Mr troll, than you should cut back on your alcohol consumption.
Sorry, it brings out the worst in me when people are insulting others for not reason.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:11 am
Was he injured last year in the playoffs? It doesn’t matter if Baker is injured or not the Bucs can’t beat playoff teams when it matters most. So many excuses this season when the majority of the losses were winnable games.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:21 am
From mediocre to below mediocre…
I would be pleasantly shocked if the Bucs are able to win one more game this season.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:23 am
No need to scramble when we go 4 wide against Carolina ,, EE, Godwin , JMac and Big Mike ,,, finally
December 10th, 2025 at 9:27 am
Crazy to blame Mayfield for the lack of a passing game when his number one and number two receiver both missed easy touchdown throws the past two weeks and the other two guys just can’t get open.
December 10th, 2025 at 9:32 am
When the Bucs were 6-2, somebody slipped into the huddle of the offense, defense and special teams huddles and turn all the switches off! If they used a key, they took it with them! If, after playing like a JV 8th grade team, Thursday night, switches are turned back on and a win is in the books, will it be the start of. A 4 game winning streak? No! The same person who turned it off 5 games ago will turn it off again .
December 10th, 2025 at 9:33 am
None of our current supply of receivers can overcome man coverage, nowhere to throw except tight-window stuff
December 10th, 2025 at 9:52 am
if baker is that banged up, craft a run dominate game plan Grizz!!!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!
December 10th, 2025 at 9:58 am
The main concern for me is the fact that the entire game this team looked like they didn’t even want to be on the field. Heads down, no sense of urgency, no fire, and an overall poor demeanor. I’m sorry, but this is entirely on coaching! How the special teams coordinator still has a job in week 14 is beyond me.
December 10th, 2025 at 10:06 am
What in anyone’s mind makes anyone think we will win out. We just got v outplayed and outcoached by a bottom 3 team and have lost like 5 of last 7 games.
December 10th, 2025 at 10:12 am
Westernpenn.
Oh ye of little memory… have you forgotten that after these “miraculous” comebacks that the Bu s were summarily bounced in the first game?
Winning the NFC South isn’t the own that you think it is.
December 10th, 2025 at 10:16 am
This is the NFL’s parity dream. As far as I know, no matter how badly the Bucs play, their hopes are alive until they lose the second Panthers game. Except, of course, if the Panthers contrive to lose one or two other games. Slowly twisting in the wind.
December 10th, 2025 at 10:27 am
If the bucs lose, we just need to beat the panthers twice. Could in theory just rest starts and play the panthers games hard af because obviously that is all that matters. Maybe the players only care about those games because they know that as well lmao. But for real who doesn’t want to get raheem fired
December 10th, 2025 at 10:31 am
What I have noticed defense on long runs and passes is that supposedly fast players are just getting badly outrun ala Devin White look at the guys supposedly closing in on backside pursuit. I remember when the BUCS had great pursuit. Someone, especially AWJ would be right there to handle any little delay of the ball carrier. Not anymore. Once these guys get their big payout they just coast
December 10th, 2025 at 11:21 am
While I’m at Ray-Jay tomorrow night I’ll be hoping to see an offense that can come to life against a really horrible team and hoping for a win
Although, while I’m doing that I will also be asking myself several questions:
1) Let’s say the team surprises everyone and wins out, as unlikely as that might be. What does that say about the players and coaches? To go from that low of lows to that high of highs. It’s a bi polar trait and not sustainable IMO.
2) if we beat morris does that get him canned? On the other hand if they beat us handily, does that save his job and get Todd canned? If we are searching for a new HC next year we might be competing with several other clubs for some of the young OC talent. I’d prefer morris coaching that team in ‘26. He sucks.
3) if we split the next 4 and stumble in, how excited am I to see that WC beat down at home while also pondering the chance that it’s the same ole same ole next year?
I think those are pretty reasonable questions to ask.
The only recent coach that I can remember that came back from the abyss was siriani in ‘24 after the collapse of ‘23. It doesn’t happen often and he had already coached his team to a conference championship.

Every week: “He’s doing a lot better this week!”
December 10th, 2025 at 11:30 pm
This offense has had a terrible combination of injuries and a OC who hasn’t figured it out yet.
