Morning Cup Of Joe

December 11th, 2025

Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.

Distraction of the Day

The NFL returns to Munich in 2026 and 2028. If the Bucs are one of those teams, do yourself a life-long favor and beg, borrow and steal money to go. Joe went when the Bucs played there back in 2022 not knowing what to expect and it may have been the best thing Joe ever did. There’s really no language barrier (about 70 percent of populace speaks English and the eateries have menus in English), they drive on the right side of the road and the locals drink (very good) beer like water. And if you are a history geek, there’s World War II-related stuff all over the place. [PFT]

Memo to Florida State (and take notes Seminoles): This is how you clip a coach you want to wash your hands of without paying through the nose. You plant a young blonde in the guy’s office and you bait him. Then, you sit on the evidence until something comes up. Well, for Michigan, something came up this year with another lousy offense and non-development of the Wolverines’ very expensive, five-star quarterback. So, Michigan knee-capped Sherrone Moore by releasing the evidence they were sitting on. You get rid of a bad coach with zero buyout fee. Now that’s how you get rid of a coach you don’t want boys and girls. A beautiful, precise, professional hit job with no parting gift (buyout clause). Al Davis and Sam Giancana would be proud. [MLive]

Sherrone Moore II:  Shortly after learning he was fired, Moore goes to a woman’s apartment (the address seems to suggest it was the residence of his side piece), allegedly attacks a woman and then gets dragged off to jail — eeerrr — is “detained.” So in a matter of about four hours, Moore lost his job, lost his family, lost his side piece and lost his career. Now that’s a full day. Pretty efficient work. Maybe Citrus State Prison needs a coach? (Let’s see who gets that reference.)

YouTubeTV to offer sports packages where you only get channels that have sports, at lower monthly fee. (Joe also read a Twitter from a top TV media reporter that maybe by next fall, YouTubeTV will offer a “football package” where your subscription only lasts August through February. Starting my day with Kay Adams and finishing it with the Buccaneers and Thursday night football. Shlt for brains will do when you have luck!

Loved the Jameis conversation between Kay and Gronk! Good stuff and I agree with Gronk about Jameis.

Thank you for the clarifying article about Moore. So many other confusing articles out there without details. Since John H. is possibly on the hot seat more than Tomlin, maybe he could go to Michigan. Just saying.

Jameis was great and doesn’t know what he’s doing yet. I’m rooting for him to land on FOX.

The Sherrone Moore stuff went dark and fast. All involved in holding that evidence until after signing day for the recruits, should be cleared out and blackballed from college football. Scandal aside, now all of the signees are just left there in the dumpster fire. Absolutely not fair to these kids and a disgusting level of manipulation of HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. I understand the financial responsibilities and wanted to stay ahead in this age of college football but these are 17-19 year olds we’re talking about. Some things are bigger than the sport and this is one of them.

On the flip side, Troy Bowles took a massive step up after transferring there from Georgia. One of their highest rated tacklers and pass rushers according to PFF (take that how you will). Draft eligible in 2027…… I know a team that needs that, but is it worth seeing more of the Bowles name?

    Yes, it is real.
And with the rise of AI, it’s only going to get worse.
