Ha! It’s good to know Lee has not checked himself into an insane asylum.

Candid and enjoyable podcast! Hope Lee is okay. Breathe in, breathe out 😌

Todd’s rant was a shock. Can’t give up now, have to lead and win. I have been pro-Bowles, however he is the head coach, and has to fight-fight-fight. If there were players not doing what they needed to do, they should have already been addressed and improved. And if it was internally known before the bye, Jason should have been active in the November trade.

I am also tiring of being beat by Kirk Cousins. It’s like a thorn in our sides.

Mike has been phenomenal, loyal, and always ready to give it his all on the field. We felt it when he was out. He is the heart and soul of this team. I would hate to see him leave after this season. The Glazers know how much he is loved and will listen to the fans.

Thank you all for hitting all the high points while also including where you believe Lichts mindset is. “I am that man” isn’t cutting it, as you mentioned James Pearce who is a head case, but you need a few of those sprinkled in. Barton is struggling, Hall is lost in this scheme , Vita is the only man in the front 7. Licht has questions to answer but he seems protected by the poor coaching, scheme. He hasn’t provided enough talent to this roster and the staff hasn’t done anything at all to develop or work with what we have. Total mess we have on our hands but there is still a chance to finish strong. Just highly doubtful with the heart we have shown.

Ira, I would like to know your head coaching candidates if the spiral continues?

  5. Joe in Michigan Says:

It’s pure comedy that Bowles would say the coaches have done all they could do. Does this even remotely resemble a well coached football team? Also, Bowles talked about accountability, did he take any accountability for the loss? I wonder where the players get it from when Bowles acts like he had nothing to do with the loss.

I’m confident it WAS internally known before the bye, but I’m glad Jason didn’t address it before the trade deadline. This team needed more than one good player to make us a contender; it needed several. And the cost in draft capital and salary cap would have been sky high. It would have hurt us in future seasons. It’s taken all these years since the Brady era to climb out of salary cap hell. Licht isn’t wanting to reverse the progress.

^^^^^^Added to what I wrote above:

If Richard Sherman knew, Jason did as well.

  8. heyjude Says:

    BucsFanSince1996 – You are absolutely right. I wasn’t thinking about the cap/costs.

I think a lot has to be blamed on Licht. Thinking these middle round picks are so valuable. We ain’t getting no stars with those picks. Average starters at best being overhyped. We have a team full of average middle round picks. Look at our record. 7-7 average. But I tell you what we might have the worst defense in the league. And I think Bowles has been exposed for probably being below average. He was slightly. About average as a DC when we actually had stars on our defense. But all these players on D our Bowles picks. These are his players he wanted in the draft and now can’t develop or they are just mid picks. We need too start moving up in the draft sacrificing a few middle round picks and actually get se stars. Some Dogs in this team. And stop drafting these choir boys in the front seven.

  10. BA’s Red Pen Says:

The defense is terrible. The Bucs will average 28 points per game the rest of the season and still lose every game. Bowles needs to go.

  11. Dubcity6 Says:

There’s no talent on defense. None.. zero.. Vea is one man that plays 50% of the time on defense.

No matter who the coach, no man could win with the lack of talent on that side

I don’t know how Licht’s middle round draft picks compare to that of other teams, but I feel he got good value from some of them, including:
    Tykee Smith – 3rd round
    Bucky – 4th round
    Parrish – 3rd round
    Walker – 4th round
    Roberts 5th round
    Tez – 7th round

In addition to those guys, Licht got great value by picking up undrafted free agents, including:
    Izien
    Sean Tucker
    Kam Johnson
    Rashad Wisdom
    Ben Chukuma
    John Bullock
    Josh Williams

Some of those guys obviously need further development, bu Chukuma recently started his very first NFL game as a left tackle when Wirfs was hurt, and showed he belongs.

Any secondary is going to look worse than it actually is when the pass rush is as bad as it is on the Bucs.

I think both Morrison and Parish will be competent starters going forward. Parish was playing good earlier in the season but seems to have hit a rookie wall. And Morrison missed almost the entire off season, but was considered by many a first-round talent coming out of the draft, and only fell to the 2nd round as he was coming off an injury.

  14. BucsFanSince1996 Says:

There’s a good article about Ben Chukwuma on the FoxSports website on April 28th by Greg Auman.

Chukwuma arrived in the U.S. from Nigeria at age 17, knowing absolutely nothing about American football, and was a walk-on at Georgia State, and hadn’t played a snap by his third season. He didn’t get into a college game until some time in 2023, a couple of years ago!

  15. VOT Says:

The offense is loaded- we need depth at G and a real TE1, that’s it

Nearly the entire draft and FA focus should be on this defense and special teams depth

We need a major infusion of talent and a cleansing of the coaching staff

Also, we need a backup QB who can come in and win some games should the starter be injured.

  17. Pelsbuc61 Says:

I would love to see Zyon and AWJ traded but Licht made that impossible by severely overpaying them. The defense is literally devoid of any talent especially the front 7. Licht should be fired along with Bowles for all the years of ignoring the pass rush. Draft should be all defense and get some Oline help and LBs in free agency. Give Baker one more year, hopefully with Evans, Godwin and JMac and yet another OC. But please, anyone but Bowles on the sideline!!!!!!
