Fans “Got A Right To Be Pissed”

December 12th, 2025

Bucs co-owner Joel Glazer met with Jason Pierre-Paul on the field prior to last night’s game.

Bucs-fan rage is at an all-time high.

Heck, Joe is absorbing venemous darts for not calling for Todd Bowles to be fired this morning.

Some folks really need to chill. Don’t blame Joe for the Bucs losing back-to-back against the two-win Saints and the four-win Falcons — at home in December.

Joe wonders whether Team Glazer considers these catastrophic losses to bad teams on par with the ones that sank former head coach Jon Gruden in 2008, after his Bucs were 9-3 and finished 9-7?

Losing to two weaksauce division rivals in two weeks, man, if the Bucs drop a third in a row in the division on Sunday, Dec. 21 in Charlotte, that would be the definition of rock bottom.

Last night after the 29-28 loss to Peyton Manning  Kirk Cousins, the human statue, iconic Bucs linebacker Lavonte David acknowledged the fan outcry. He referenced the high hopes for the 50th anniversary and how “they got a right to be pissed.”

Joe wonders what local pitchfork sales are in Tampa this morning.

players are a reflection of the head coach, SOFT!

  2. Marine Buc Says:

Let Bowles finish this doomed season then fire him and most of the current staff.

  3. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

This team hit rock bottom when it let Liam bolt to Jacksonville.

Where’s Waldo Winfield? Paid and invisible.

  7. SteveK Says:

Liam Coen brought the offensive fire power with him to duuuuval. I miss last year’s offense.

Jason Licht, which edge rusher are you trading for? Bc drafting an edge sir, you cannot!

  8. SteveK Says:

Glazers have always made Hc changes at the end of the season. My question is, does waiting that long impact your ability to land a top flight candidate, like Kubiak?

Also. Give me an offensive coach, not a sorry defense and a revolving door at OC.

  9. SteveK Says:

Lastly, Baker has been sucking the last 6 weeks -injured sure- still sucking.

  10. Chuckys Bucs Says:

@Joe – are you not able to post media on your site? post game press conferences, x posts, insights? It’s usually just commentary by you.. maybe a quote here and there. Curious.

  11. SB~LV Says:

Followers of JBF understand that they cannot or will not call for firing
    Steve Duemig certainly would!
    Different relationships with OBP

  12. Beeej Says:

I have to be thinking about doing the same thing to Winfield we did to Dean last off-season

  13. FortMyersDave Says:

Steve K, allegedly the Glazers were talking to Lovie Smith halfway through Greg S’s last season. Just because they have not announce a firing, for all we know they are calling agents as we speak. I feel bad for some of the assistants, they are going to pay the price for Bowles failure. Grizz did not get a fair shake with the injuries. Last night we saw brief glimpses of how good the O could be. Imagine it with a healthy O-Line and a healthy Baker (or if you are not a Baker fan, simply a healthy competent starting QB). A healthy Baker probably would have won last night, a couple more accurate throws, less happy feet…….

  14. Bucco Rick Says:

Now, Now calm down. All is not lost. We still control our own destiny. Patience is a virture seldom found in Buc Fans but much needed today.

  15. Tom Edrington Says:

Caption for the pic of JPP and Glazer: “JPP, do you think we should fire Todd Bowles?”

JPP Response: “Oh HELL TO THE YES!”

  16. SteveK Says:

Yeah. Agree with you, fort Myers Dave

Baker needs to find a way to stay healthy throughout the season. He’s faded each of the last few with us. Not blaming him bc he is tough, but man the hospital ball to Evans. Missing Egbuka late, getting 3 tipped passes, taking needless sacks, is tiring as hell to watch.

I’d call the bengals up and offer Waldo Winfield and Baker for Burrow. lol. 😂

  17. Kevin Dodel Says:

It’s at the point now where opposing quarterbacks are looking forward to playing the BUCS defense to pad their numbers to make them look better statistically.

  18. SteveK Says:

    Bucco Rick,

If you think we are beating Carolina twice and a resurgent dolphins, you’re mistaken. We are going to out there in 10 days get our cheeks clapped by Dave and it will all be over. We are done. Defense is piss poor, baker is hurt and sucking, it’s sad to
See a wasted effort of Mike Evans and no support for Lavonte in his potentially last hoorah.

  19. 813bucboi Says:

i was pissed after the PATS game…

    now im numb…

    focusing on the draft….

OG Josh Braun would be a great fit

    GO BUCS!!!!

  20. FortMyersDave Says:

Beej, it would be interesting to see how AWJ would handle an ultimatum. Man his play has hit a trajectory that is almost Devin White like in how he has fell off from that All Pro year. I remember the Joes saying in AWJ’s rookie year that he and his Dad, the old Viking, broke down tape together. I bet they do not anymore or else his dad would be shaming him about why he was 10 yards off the ball on that 4th and 14.

  21. Will Says:

Fire him now and see if one of the many assistants can call the defense or AT LEAST force him to give up the defensive play calling. I believe we have the players just not the correct person calling the defense. Be aggressive and stay that way the ENTIRE fan base knows this team can’t play zone consistently and anytime it’s a long 4th we know he’s going soft zone and more than likely the team will pick it up.

Also why do our players slip so damn often while the opposing team seems to have no problem staying upright?

  22. Bucfan1988 Says:

Seems like once Winfield & McCollum signed their 2nd contracts and got their bags, their want-to disappeared……

Like I said last nite, Bucs D were a bunch of orange zombies walking/running around……

Got no energy, purpose, or heart whatsoever……

    The coach tune-out has begun…..

Sad situation because this team had so much promise early in the season…

  23. Tbbucs3 Says:

I’ve appreciated (unlike many fans) for what Todd Bowles has done keeping his franchise afloat post Brady and he’s gotten a lot of unwarranted criticism over the years…..

But this year, especially has been hard to defend him. There’s no signs of this defense will get fixed and Grizzard has largely been a flop.

Granted, it’s quite an impossible task once you lose your first two OCs that you hit home runs on to keep hiring good ones.

  24. Tbbucs3 Says:

Also, what in the world is going on with Baker Mayfield? He doesn’t even look like the same guy out there, playing with not nearly as much fire as he used to. Just his body language seems off and can’t have that for a franchise QB.

  25. Steve Says:

Joe, you guys are great for all you do everyday here, but it makes your readers feel stupid (which they’re not) for being out of sync with the sentiment. It also questions your independence as journalists, as if there’s consequences from the team like limiting your access, if you were up criticize the coaching, management or ownership. It just erodes trust.

  26. Bradinator Says:

If your D-coordinator shows up that bad on a weekly basis, he should be fired. If that guy is also your head coach, ditto. Show of hands how many people thought the D would stop ATL from getting a field goal?

  27. Bee Says:

What took some of yall this long to see the obvious?

I asked BEFORE last season started what about the decision making of Bowles and Baker makes you think they could go deep in the playoffs. And people insulted me and said I didnt know ball. Plenty of posters were saying it and treated the same way. This is the same team that lost in Detroit, and lost to Washington. The exact same team. Every team is only as good as it’s leadership.

Bowles and Baker just don’t have it.

  28. Tucker Says:

It’s more than some weaksauce divisional foe they are some of the worst teams in the league which I guess by now the bucs can be included in that awesome moniker.

  29. Louie Says:

This team has no confidence or pride right now and we all know Bowles can’t fix it since nobody cares or respects his system!

  30. Blows sux Says:

Someone PLEASE give Mike McCarthy a call and let him know how nice the weather is in Florida

  31. BIGBUCFAN90 Says:

That stripped sack is what gets me too, how was that determined a tie?

  32. Stallworth Says:

Matt Burke the DC in Houston would be a perfect fit for us. A modern 4-3 defense that lets the DL pin their ears back and get after the QB. He describes his defense as “violence up front”. That is exactly what we need.

The league scale is now starting to tip back towards the defense side of the ball. We could get ahead of that and hire a good one now. And btw having a killer defense is so on brand for the Bucs.

  33. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

There is absolutely no way I fire him now. Hanging this thing on whatever interim HC you would elevate wouldn’t be fair to them. This is Todd’s dumpster fire. Let him burn with it.

  34. Sal Volatile Says:

There is clearly an element of this team that does not want to win.
    Why ?
Two things appear obvious to me.
    1. The defensive players have been fed up with Bowles for as long as the fans have been and are determined to see him go.
    2. That situation would create an opportunity for players to make unexplained obvious mistakes or not give full effort.

The NBA and MLB have recently had gambling issues.
Is the NFL exempt from such issues ?
Is it not possible for the Bucs to have such an issue ?

  35. Marky mark Says:

All it takes iz a new coach. You see that in New,England, Seattle, chicago and others. Bowles will be fired if he does not make the playoffs and win at least one game. The problem is we already gifted Jags and cougers great coaches.

  36. ScottNFL Says:

    Sal,

I have not thought of the gambling issue…..and it would be a head scratcher considering how much money these guys make. It just goes to show that the defense is playing so bad that it could almost be believed that some were trying to lose last night. A team makes 19 penalties and you still can’t win? What did the Falcons get on offense? 450 yards? How many would they have gotten had they only made five or six penalties?

  37. ModHairKen Says:

Imagine the opposite. The Bucs start out 2-6 and then go 5-1.

Everyone would be excited about next year.

It’s time to call this what it is: a bad team coached by a bad coach.

Bowles has to go. So do Reddick. Hall. David. Dean. Zyon. Braswell. Winfield. Diaby. Otton. And SVD. Maybe some others.

Licht, don’t go down with the ship.

  38. #1bucsfan Says:

I don’t think the defense has given up on Bowles. There’s only a few this year but a few games they played good football that shows they can do it when excited properly. I’m with Joe that there’s a locker room issue. Prob a few bad players. Had me thinking Winfield. He’s played terrible. He got paid and now has not lived up to it. It’s crazy cause he’s got all the talent. Maybe because of his high contract the Bucs don’t want to bench him but man it sure would send a message to the other players. Everyone including me want to blame Bowles but his defense has worked even this year and we’ve all witnessed it. If the players are executing then it sounds more like players and not coaches.

  39. Bucco oldtimer Says:

I spend a lot of hard earned money on my season tickets. When I see lazy coaching, and lazy execution it just feels bad. I have never seen such poor defensive play. This is not the first time either. Heads need to roll. Too much money on the line. Time to clean house or I will get rid of my season tickets. At least they took away the special teams risk by kicking touchbacks. This is a case of inmates running the asylum, and the guards (coaches) are corrupt.

  40. ocala Says:

Bucs need to fire Bowles, but yes it does reflect weakness that JBF has not called for the firing of Todd Bowles.

  41. Sal Volatile Says:

I will remind everyone once again. After the defense obviously failed to play with effort during the Denver home game last year, Todd Bowles’ post game words were ” I had nothing to do with that !”.

  42. David G Says:

I think Todd Bowles has lost this team and should be fired , BUT JL also needs to answer to why he never made a move to get a real edge rusher on this team! He has drafted and not hit, he needs to get a proven Edge rusher in here. We get beat by pedestrian QB’s because even a average NFL QB can pick apart a defense when they have zero pressure and when you do these exotic blitzes the Bowles does it leaves the middle wide open and hangs the DB’s out to dry!!!

  43. DBS Says:

The Washington game was tied. Bowles defense as usual couldn’t stop them The Almighty Kancey had the rookie QB stopped dead for a loss in the backfield. A minor stiffarm and he was left holding a sweat towel. A lucky doink won the game. But of course those with BEE in their bonnet ever since Baker arrived blame him for every loss. When we win they disappear for the week.

The bucs and the NFL butter their bread that’s why they constantly run cover for Todd

Liam Coen brought the offensive fire power with him to duuuuval. I miss last year’s offense.
    ———————————————————————————-

Grizz is learning on the job without the experience that Coen had coming in, but I believe he’ll be fine as an OC in a second year if he gets that chance. He’s got a high football IQ, and played an instrumental role in the teams success on 3rd downs last season.

We scored 28 points last night with 60% of our starting offensive line missing.
It should have been enough when playing the Falcons.

  46. Bucs4Ever Says:

    HIgh Football IQ, yes.
Connection to the players? Not sure. IQ and EQ are necessary.

  47. Upstate NY Buc Fan Says:

I think a few years down the road we’re gonna find out someone in that defense had gambling issues cause I was there last night. They were given up the food like it was free totally ridiculous.

  48. firethecannons Says:

Joe says this:”Heck, Joe is absorbing venemous darts for not calling for Todd Bowles to be fired this morning.” As well you should absorb the darts, there is no path forward that has Bowles as coach. Simple as that. The defensive scheme is at the heart of this insurmountable mountain of sht..

  49. Hodad Says:

After giving up 4 points Zyon went back to the locker room to count his money. He was butt hurt in the game. Why Licht paid this guy early is beyond me. Just goes to show Licht is delusinal about this roster, and needs to be fired also. Maybe than we can draft real edge rushers, DT’s who weren’t college D ends, and real centers, and guards, not small school LTs. Licht can’t pick em, Bowles can’t coach em. Time for them to go.

  50. Sal Volatile Says:

With such an obvious problem existing for the past three years surely the Glazers have seen what the fans see. Right ? There are far too many opportunities for speculation. I put Citrus County away seeking a fresh start. Roscoe was the s.m.o.k.i.n.g. g.u.n.

Now it’s time for smelling salts. Sal Volatile

  51. DBS Says:

After that game Bowles should be fired today. Let Foote run it. Then look for a new coach.

  52. Kayla Says:

At this point it’s better to lose out. Higher draft pick, easier schedule next season.

    Bucs4Ever Says:
    HIgh Football IQ, yes.

    ——————————————————————————
For sure IQ and EQ are necessary. But it would be challenging for any first-time play caller with zero experience given the injuries on offense this season. This IS the same OC on the team earlier in the season when we won a shoot-out against Seattle.

Now that he’s at least got his starting WR’s back I would expect more production, and last night was clearly an upgrade.

Unfortunately for Grizz though, if Bowles is forced to walk the plank, any new head coach will probably want to bring in his own OC.

  54. FortMyersDave Says:

The Joes know that the Glazers will not act until after the season is over. They launched one DC, Smitty in season but never an HC. The last Buc HC to get canned in season was Perkins by Huch C in 1990. I would be interested to see what Ira thinks, he has called for Jason to get launched, what does he think about Bowles after such an embarrassing loss on national TV, another loss in creamsicle in front of many Buc legends. Does he think that the Bucs have any pride.

  55. Fred McNeil Says:

    Wow! Just unbelievable.

  56. Josh Says:

You have direct contact with both fans and the team. Joe, you are the only voice we have, so I’m extremely frustrated that you have remained idle over the past few years and are now not calling for action before the end of the season. Someone needs to be held accountable immediately!

Someone needs to be FIRED TODAY!! LAST WEEK!! A MONTH AGO!!

I mean he could at least throw us the sacrificial firing and get rid of the AWFUL SPECIAL TEAMS CORDINATOR!!

  57. Josh Says:

Steve put it perfectly. I question your journalistic integrity and wonder whether your access to the team would be compromised if you were more critical.

Personally Who cares? The fans would know the truth, and that would be the final straw for the Glazers as owners. Fans would MUTINY!!

  58. JohnQCitizen Says:

  59. Sal Volatile Says:

After an emotional roller coaster following the new franchise Buccaneers in warm sunny Florida for the past 50 years, taking me back to my post Navy time in Maine, I think it is hilarious for the 50th anniversary to turn out this way. I only feel badly for Baker Mayfield. The franchise that resurrected his career may have just killed it. Hugh Culverhouse still roams the halls of One Buc Place/Palace.

  60. Day 1-76 Says:

7-10 is in sight, and from the looks of last night, probable. We might even get a top 10 pick.

  61. Mike Johnson Says:

I’m starting to dislike the Glazers even more than I loathe Bowles. They know what must be done. What are they waiting for? Carolina to beat us? Todd Bowles is a career 500 man. Nothing more, nothing less. 28 pts is more than enough to win in this league. His Defense is straight out sorry and pitiful. If losing to Crolina will hasten Bowles departure? Then I’m sorry to say, Letrs go Carolina Panthers. I’m sick of Bowles. Give us fans some hope Glazers, Turn the page now.

  62. Sal Volatile Says:

Coming to Joe’s defense I say this to the fans tossing poison darts at them, the Joes are reporters-journalists not opinion editorialists.

If the fans can’t see that…..well….

  63. Sal Volatile Says:

Which highly paid player on this team does the most inexplicable things ?

  64. Bucamania Says:

Well that game told us what we suspected. This team and coaching staff is cooked.

At this point it’s better to lose out. Higher draft pick, easier schedule next season. ********* I agree with this, but would add that if Bowles is not released after this season then there is no reason to even follow this team then. I have been a Bucs fan for the last 10 years I have watched NFL and this is the most consequential loss I have seen the Bucs have. Keeping Bowles after this shtshow would be a dagger to the 2026 season and beyond.

  66. Sal Volatile Says:

    ———————————————————————————-

Since the year 2000, there are only six teams in the NFL who have won at least two Super Bowls. The Buccaneers are one of those six, under the ownership of the Glazers. And I would bet both of our lives that they are wanting to win a third. You might want to reassess your feelings towards them.

  68. Arn Platz Says:

Just here to add/throw my dart at Joe

  69. Gman Says:

Think about the games we probably should have lost earlier in the season….first Atlanta game and even the Jets game. Probably 1-2 more. This would be the 4-5 win team they look like today. So glad I wised up and stopped paying 1000’s of dollars to the Glazers every year. Y’all need to do the same.
