Bucs May Have Pearl Harbored Their Playoff Chances

December 7th, 2025

Bucs playoff chances listing badly.

December 7, 2025. A day that may live in infamy.

It is a day the Bucs’ playoff chances may have exploded by a sudden, deliberate and dastardly attack by the slimy Saints.

You just watched this awful game. Which team wanted to win more? Was it the now three-win slimy Saints, who may have p!ssed away their chances to draft Fernando Mendoza by winning today?

Or was it the sad sack Bucs, a terribly overrated team by the way they have played the past five games, who now pretty much have to win no less than three of their final four games to win the sorry NFC South and make the playoffs for the fifth straight year?

The Bucs looked like the team playing for a draft pick today. Joe heard the same ol’ same ol’ in the locker room. Have to cut down on mistakes. Have to play smarter. Have to make plays.

Certainly, since the bye, and clearly since the Bucs lost to the Lions, the Bucs are not a good team. That’s the cold, harsh truth.

Good teams don’t get physically beat up by Detroit. Good teams don’t get boatraced by the Rams. Good teams don’t struggle to pull out a three-point win against the Cardinals. Good teams don’t lose a home game against a rookie quarterback and the three-win slimy Saints.

Will the Bucs in the next month find their Midway and recover from their Pearl Harbor and rally to get to the playoffs?

Or will the Bucs continue to crumble in the final four games, playing like they have the past six or seven weeks? Just like the bad team they play like now?

Gonna get a second belly button from the Panthers Joe

  2. BucsBeast Says:

Let me guess…. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY from Bowles.

  3. Paratrooper Buc Says:

If the Bucs miss the playoffs and keep Bowles then next year will be the same.

  4. Miller5252 Says:

You hear the same thing in the locker room every week from the players because they never get any better. These guys have been in this same system for years and still can’t handle the plays correctly. Bowles is done! Send him on his way

  5. Bucs4Ever Says:

Listen this is a football game. That is disrespectful to the men who lost this lives. Come on now.

  6. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Blow this team up!

…..the Bucs are beyond pathetic right now

  7. Ben the GA Buc Says:

Fully appropriate metaphor for what happened on the field today.

  8. BucsBeast Says:

At this point its either Bowles goes or the fan faithful go.
Its hard enough to watch, let alone get excited about watching a collapse every week.

  9. Rick Says:

    Playoffs….playofffs?

    LoL

  10. Durango 95 Says:

I can almost remember the days when Bowles would beat the bad teams and lose to the good ones. Now he can’t beat either. So for those of us that wanted Bowles to be consistent. Be careful what you wish for.

  11. unbelievable Says:

I told you the season was dunzo when they dropped to 6-4. The team came out of the bye and just gave up.

The defense is gutless and cowardly. Winfield is the most overpaid overrated underperforming player on the roster. Zyon is second right behind him. Light will prob offer both an extension lol.

FIRE TODD BOWLES. THERE IS NO OTHER ANSWER. WE ALWAYS BE UNDERACHIEVING LOSERS WITH HIM AT THE HELM.

The team has tuned him out and it’s obvious. Pretty much every single player on the roster has regressed under his leadership:

    – worst red zone offense in the league
    – worst special teams in the league
    – bottom 3 red zone offense
    – bottom 3 defense
    – bottom 3 in penalties

What would be the point of even going to the playoffs? So we can get embarrassed and steamrolled by the Seahawks / Niners / Rams / Lions and just have a worse draft pick?

Season is dunzo. Wake tf up people.

  12. stucbuc Says:

Make the playoffs to do what exactly?

  13. John J Barse Says:

its over, we will not beat the panthers, and they will probably sweep us which kills any chance for the division. the way we looked today we won’t beat the falcons either

  14. HopetheBucswin Says:

Can we feel a 4 game losing streak in the division coming 1 down 3 to go. How big of a crash do we need to get a new coach? Can 1 player play good?Fire over confident mistake prone clueless Bowles!

  15. Miller5252 Says:

Watching the Bears and Packers and both those teams are playing like it’s do or die and need a win to make the playoffs. This team just ho hums it when it’s a must win. That’s on the coaches. Arians needs to come back and get some fire in these guys!

  16. Darin Says:

Every team who wasn’t a playoff team has pearl harbored their playoff chances. Four late plays early in the season made this a mirage. There’s basically a two win team with another out of date coach

  17. View from 132 Says:

Very inappropriate comparison Joe. Come on. One of the darkest days in US history and losing to the Saints? Get a grip.

  18. Bucs4Ever Says:

    Yes, psychologically, someone is wrong.

    Grizz.
    Bowles.

    Awful.

    Lincoln Riley please!

  19. Rod Munch Says:

The idea the defense needs to give up 19 points or less a game for the team to win – if that’s the case – then the season is already over.

  20. Kidfloflo Says:

I’d fire Bowles in the rain just like Dungy! His team and defense is an embarrassment and shows NO signs of improving…they have platued and need an injection of new life!! And u cannot tell me an interim coach, say Larry Foote…Grizzard…the water boy could have the D playing any worse!! And before u say the Glazers have never pulled such move mid season, well there is a first time for everything

  21. John J Barse Says:

and we fired Dungy and Gruden and they had winning records

  22. Bucsfanatic55 Says:

    Come on

I dont want arians picking our next head coach too

  23. Slacker Says:

Team isn’t close to a playoff caliber team. If losing out gets a new coaching staff in here, I’m all for it. Making the playoffs and losing in the first round likely changes nothing in the coaching staff. This is weekly unwatchable football.

  24. Geopewter Says:

I do believe they were 0 for 5 on 4th down , not good at all it really stinks. I love the Bucs but something got change.

  25. Tbbolts Says:

This out of touch post doesn’t surprise me at all. Only a boomer with an inflated ego would think this was a good idea. It seeps into the writing.

  26. unbelievable Says:

Saints actually have a decent defense. Only the Bucs can make their offense look good.

  27. DBS Says:

Where is Bowles head cheerleader? Probably changing his name now.

  28. SteveK Says:

    We suck again!

  29. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

  30. Jerseybuc Says:

Typical shi$$$ radio team. 16 games under 500 as a HC. They will get smoked Thursday also. Time to go!!!!
Anyone see what coen is doing 🥴

  31. Baking with Grizz Says:

Double digit loses might be on the horizon. If so where do you e line up on the draft Joe?

  32. SBucs Says:

Easy answer. Bucs will crumble (like the topping on Todd’s apple pie).

  33. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

    Bad coaches, bad results.

  34. DBS Says:

BA needs to be finished too. This was his idea to begin with.

  35. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

It is over. Toad MUST go!

  36. Nprbuc Says:

Quick! Someone name me ONE game that we won this year because of good coaching. Not BS pulling a rabbit out of the hat miracle, but an actual win that can be notched into the HC belt. Now, Name a loss that can be attributed to poor coaching. Bet you didn’t have to think much for that answer! Every team we play can play toss and catch over the middle. They have for years. Our genius coach can’t solve the riddle. Bowles and his hand picked “ coaches” need to go if they can’t find a solution- which they can’t. Come on Glazers. Give the fans a Christmas present. ( You can wait until after Cousins throttles us on Thursday. Just so you have more ammunition to fight off the Todd believers.) A shamefull display of football today.

  37. VOT Says:

The dirty Birds are licking their chops to play this sad sack defense. The rookie edge guys will likely have multiple sacks. Robinson may have 150 yds

The Panthers on the road? 42-14 Panthers – a 7-8 record heading to Miami where a half decent coach with a bad qb is also licking his chops for a shot at Todd the Inept Guru

This team has completely checked out on Turd Bozo and we are looking at a Grudenesque collapse – look at the run game D and the attitude of the team – it screams WE NEED A NEW COACH!

  38. Delson Says:

Embarrassing. Our oline ain’t sh.. that middle of the field zone is wide open. SVD should just turn n run with his man he’s lined up with listen for the word “SWITCH!!”. Idk what he’s doing out there. Pretty sure Baker was supposed 2 hand the ball off but he told his teammates he was going 2 keep it on that 3rd or 4th down in the 2nd half. The old school QB keeper is open. These young guys see a lot of the QBO we line up under center so run a lil razzle dazzle damnit

  39. Obvious Says:

It also might be the day the glazers bring Jason in and let him know to start the process of finding another HC. Which if done correctly could ale this day a positive eventually.

A lot of good pieces on this team

  40. RVATom Says:

Doesn’t matter if they make the playoffs. They caNt beat bad teams. I like Baker, but without a decent OC might as well let him walk.

  41. Winny Testaverde Says:

Even if the Bucs disn’t soil their slacks completely today…they were likely to lose to Atlanta and both games vs Carolina. Not to mention a team actually showing fight…the Dolphins in between Carolina games. 7-10 is a real possibility. Licht & Co. quickly reverting to when they actually had a worse recorded than the Domink Era/Error.

  42. Britton Says:

I want Jason Licht to be held accountable. Saving draft picks instead of getting this defense some help. He beats his chest every time one of his 6 round picks plays (they wouldn’t play for anyone else) meanwhile he sucks at the top of the draft where real game changers are drafted.
Also Baker is not an MVP, especially when Evan’s isn’t on the field. Every year he goes through long mid season slumps then gets hot just in time to get us just above .500

  43. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We actually still control our own destiny…….now what that destiny is….who knows.

  44. Bucmike Says:

Can anybody say GRUDEN, it could happen. Either way we need a new Coach. Bucs will not win again this season. Looking forward to next year with new coach..
PS i really hope i am wrong…………GO BUCS

  45. Greg Says:

Even if the Bucs do make it to the playoffs.. do you really want to see this team go one and done?? They barely beat the Cards and now beat by the pathetic Saints. I’m sure this Thursday primetime game, we are going to get embarrassed under the bright lights (per usual) by a not-so-great Falcons team (Do you like that?). Bowles has 100% lost the locker room! Fire Bowles!

  46. Itzok Says:

    Maybe? They have imploded

  47. Tucker Says:

Playoffs? Wtf they just got they a$$ handed to them by one of the worst teams in the league playoffs that’s funny joe.

  48. Cybersecurity_intern Says:

Finally you see what some of us have veen seeing for at least two years now. Seems like good OC masked his issues year after year. But not anymore. Fire his sorry ass.

  49. FortMyersDave Says:

This team is imploding. Todd cannot make them win, he will probably even let fellow lame duck coach Rah boat race his D this Thursday which should be the final nail in Todd’s coffin. If you own season tickets, call and say you will not renew if Bowles is back. Money is something that gets the Glazers’ attention.

  50. LongSeason Says:

    Happy Pearl Harbor Day Bowels!

  51. Stuck with Green Says:

I know we are tied in records right now but honestly, the Panthers are a better team and will give a better challenge to the other NFC playoff teams.
