Bucs Lose, And Lose Two Players (At Least)

December 7th, 2025

Left guard Ben Bredeson.

The Bucs paid an even higher price for today’s crushing loss to the slimy Saints.

Out went edge rusher Haason Reddick with an ankle injury (again), but he re-entered the game to resume his reign on non-terror. Starting left guard Ben Bredeson also left in the first half with a knee injury and did not return. It didn’t look promising. SirVocea Dennis limped off the field.

Yeah, Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan will be back soon. That’ll happen “very very” soon if you believe the words of Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht on the team’s pregame radio show, but that impact won’t be huge without an offensive line.

Starting left tackle Tristan Wirfs sat out today’s game with an oblique injury. Undrafted rookie Ben Chukwuma made his first career start.

This poorly-performing Bucs team getting healthy is very likely its only shot to land in the postseason..

  1. Josh Says:

Todd Bowles should respect himself, the fans of the Buccaneers organization, his players, and the NFL as a whole. He should admit he has no clue what he’s doing and retire after that performance. I’m off the Todd Bowles FIRE wagon and on the “he should recognize how poor he is at this and just quit” train.

  2. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

    Fire Bowles

  3. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

How come the trainer isn’ responsible for any of this?

  10. Chris Says:

Joe Bowles will never take this team to the promise land ever you know it I know it every fan knows it. The Bucs made one the biggest mistakes in franchise history letting Liam walk

  11. PSL Bob Says:

Joe says, “Sadly, the Bucs are not a good team.” That’s it in a nut shell. Players, coaching, play calling, just an all around bad team. I wanted to be optimistic about the season, but now I’m just realistic. They’re not a good team. They were pretty good during their 5-1 run, but that’s totally evaporated. Egbuka dropping passes, defense can’t get anyone off the field on 3rd downs, kickoff coverage abysmal. We’ve just come to expect so much more out of this team. Damn!

  12. ModHairKen Says:

    A win is a win?

  13. JustOneGame Says:

A win is a win? Bucs have won once since the bye. They’re out coached, out played and out executed every week.

  14. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Bredeson is just a guy. Jordan will be fine.

  15. Oregon Buc Says:

Let’s be realistic here. Who cares if we limp into the playoffs. Anybody can see that we will be one and done if we do get in. Toad Bowels is inept and has been exposed. Can’t put any lipstick on this pig

  16. Miller5252 Says:

Who cares, always an excuse for this team and coach. 4 years this D looks lost all the time. Time to get rid of these coaches!

  17. SB~LV Says:

    Dandy Dan Merideth
Turn out the light… the parties over
1/2 the bandwagon won’t know what that means

  18. Trey Alderson-Cloutier Says:

How is a win a win? We lost to the saints, the worst team in football.

  19. Whatevs Says:

    Soft like Todd’s belly

  20. Durango 95 Says:

Props to my fellow posters Aqualung and Hodad.

  21. adam from ny Says:

ben bredeson has had a very good season as well…it’s like he’s the overlooked guy on the line…dude has played well…

i can’t even comment on the reddick situation, other than he should turn in his facility card

  22. 813bucboi Says:

Gotta call it like it is…..

    Bowles has to go….

    GO BUCS

  23. Dew Says:

Arrogance killed this team. Thought they were good enough & didn’t need help. Bowles & Light are both at fault.

  24. HC Grover Says:

They had plenty chances to win but they trew them all away. They ended up boxed in to the BOWLESZONE.

  25. Mike Johnson Says:

Come on guys, sing along with me. I Have become Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Its an appropriate requiem for our sorry Bucs.

  26. Tye Says:

Bowels now SUCKS even as DC!….
    MOVE ON FROM HIM!

  27. Adrnagy Says:

We will win division and win 2 playoff games.

  28. Colonel Angus Says:

Chuk didn’t look bad. Bowles definitely playing for his job if he wasn’t before. I figure he’ll need to win division and a WC game to keep coaching. This team doesn’t look like it can beat anybody right now.

  29. Jmarkbuc Says:

The only positive I take from this game is Chukwuma. Dudes only been playing football for what 2 1/2 years. He didn’t shat the bed today.

    Burn the rest down.

  30. Jameis Says:

    Lose
    The
    Coach
    Now

  31. Let ‘em bake Says:

I’m fine with 9-8 now. Second place schedule next year. Swing for a top notch coach. Reunite baker with with Lincoln Riley .

  32. Cutlass Quartermane Says:

Yes and no heat mentioned for Jason Licht. The front 7 are rotational players at best. Licht is not as good as he cracked up to br

  33. Jameis Says:

I don’t have long term interest in baker, baker, bad decision maker

  34. VOT Says:

Let’s clarify, the Bucs actually have a nice collection of talent but the usage and coaching is atrocious

Why do we have Heck and then we throw the UDFA out there? Where is Haggard? We ran the ball much better with him in there, we keep rolling with Feeney and Jordan and both are not good. The play-calling is bush league

Let’s throw 4 yards behind the line on 4th n 1 or just run the same single back up the gut 5 times in a row – Grizz doesn’t set up his plays and is kind of childish with the basic nature of how he calls his game- he has already been figured out –

We made a monumental mistake letting Coen go, it is time to blow up the staff

  35. BucaneroJim Says:

Mike Evans will come back to save us… yeah, right. He will play receiver, edge rusher and special teams.

  36. Bucs4Ever Says:

    GET RID OF TODD

  37. Adrnagy Says:

What do you guys expect. All year round
    All WR hurt.
    Oline destroyed
    Secondary. Rookies. Benched.
LB. Old. No coverage skills. Hurt.
    Rb. Hurt.
    No pash rushers.

  38. Blows sux Says:

Time for you to change the bong watwr dude

  39. Bucs And Them Says:

I rescheduled a colonoscopy for this? Luckily, I recorded the cross-country sewing preliminaries on espn 7b.

  40. MerryPlankster777 Says:

    Fire Todd, not the cannons.

  41. buc4evr Says:

Fire Todd today. No way this team is going to the playoffs.

  42. Buc king Says:

Joe I have a simple request for you to put up a poll
    Who should be fired
    A. Whole staff
    B. Todd bowles
    C. Jason licht
    4. Keep the coaches

I would like to know what the results we be and I think it be good for Jason to see this.
He’s either going to go down with bowles and lose his 4 million dollar salary every year or he will cut anchor.

    Another potential poll
Who would you rather have as your head coach?
    A. Jon Gruden
    B. Bill bilacheck
    C. Todd bowles
    D. New Young coach

  43. Oneilbuc Says:

I tried to get behind Baker but I don’t think he get us to a Superbowl because everything has to be perfect. Still rooting for him but I don’t he can

  44. FootBall1 Says:

Well, unforunately, I predicted this one. This was a division game and we are sad in even more areas than I thought . I also said if they did lose the season is done and yes the season is done. Counsins will be all pro next week. The Bucs may not win another game this year. Well we no longer have to wonder what is with this team. They are BAD, sad but true. Licht missed the boat on getting defensive talent and Bowles obviously did not help.
Yep this will go down as the season that could have been.
    Turn out the lights

  45. Bucfan1988 Says:

Don’t matter if the offense gets healthy when you got a crappy OC and your defensive scheme is pure garbage…..

Evans & McMillan need to fake injuries and stay FARRRRRRR away from participating in this crapshow!!

If Licht doesn’t fire Bowles then he should be fired as well.

I’m done!! Don’t care anymore if nothing changes..

  46. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

A win is a win Joe. But unfortunately, we lost!

  47. Crack3rK Says:

Did you say a win is a win? Leaving the game and pretty sure it was an L

  48. Les Says:

Love the bucs but im fine with them losing all the games if it gets bowles fired ! Cant take another year of this crap ! This is on bowles and light there players ,there draft choices there coaching . Its bad ,very ,very ,bad ! Look at the Jaguars, look at the Panthers, we are the yucs all over again with this bunch ! SAW a lot of empty seats . We need more to send the glazer boys the message !

  49. Mike2204 Says:

BOWLES HAS TO BE FIRED! LICHT SHOULD BE FIRED AS WELL!

  50. Rick Says:

Are we ready to pay Baker $50 mil a season next year?

  51. Cybersecurity_intern Says:

Baker yes, Bowls no. Bucs are done lets tank for picks

  52. Tim burke Says:

Man, I’m soooo glad I didn’t watch this i would have wanted to probably throw my TV out the door. SAD THING? The only thing that will push the Glazers to Make a MAJOR CHANGE?????(LICHT AND ESPECIALLY BOWLES?????) IS AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE STOP RENEWING THEIR SEASON TICKETS, BOYCOTT GAMES ETC. $$$$ lost is the only thing that will get their attention. ALSO, MANAGEMENT HAS TO STOP USING THE TAMPA BAY RAYS MODEL FOR running this team, TAKE SOME CHANCES SOMEHOW STOP TRYING TO THINK THAT DOING NOTHING BUT USING DRAFTPICKS WILL get you to the promised land!!! Take a chance on some free agents sometimes, just make sure they’re a proven commodity.

  53. Larrd Says:

Bucs keep getting worse. Attendance is bad.

  54. Rob5 Says:

The talent on this team has been overestimated. We need way more talent , that’s all there is to it..

  55. firethecannons Says:

Joe says this: A win is a win, but this poorly-performing Bucs team getting healthy is very likely its only shot to land in the postseason.. ******** still talking postseason–wow wtf for????? we ain’t able to beat the Saints–let that sink in

  56. LakelandSteve Says:

To the Glazer family. The first thing you have to do to realize you have a problem is admit you have one. The Bucs have a head coaching problem. Forget how bad the defense is playing and look at his decision making. I lost track of how many times we went for it on 4’th down around mid field. I always thought when you have miserable conditions you play more of a field position game, especially when every time you go for it you get stuffed. It’s still legal to punt the ball Bowles.

  57. Arn Platz Says:

“only shot to land in the post season”? Have you seen the Panthers play lately? Canales has those guys dialed in. We have to play them twice. They will be well rested coming off their bye. At least this will finally rid us of the inept Toilet Bowles.

  58. Vegasbuc Says:

    Fire Todd

  59. LakelandSteve Says:

Hopefully if Evans comes back this year he can make all the coaching decisions during the game.

  60. Toilet_Bowles Says:

Bucs might not have a top five roster, but they had more than enough talent to beat the Saints. That Saints QB played lights out, but we still should’ve won. Bucs just didn’t show up and were ill-prepared.

  61. Frank Says:

Joe the ending to this story is indicating it was written at half time, with an ugly win in mind. Fire the intern.

  62. View from 132 Says:

Shoutout to the other 83 people that saw this coming in this morning’s poll.

  63. Toddler Bowls Says:

We will win out all of our remaining games and win the Super Bowls. I guarantee it.

Just playing a few of these losses to drive up the odds. So the Glazers can make some money when the line chose the bugs as a underdogg.

    Cheers

Hall of Fame Coach Class of 2033f

  64. Patrick Says:

The Glazers don’t even talk to the press or ever acknowledge there’s issues. No accountability from the top down in this organization.

  65. jcscycles Says:

Nice to see Chukwuma play well. No more of the Heck experience.

Oh, and we are merely tied with the Panthers. Lets see what happens Thursday.

  66. Gipper Says:

Have to wonder where Winfield is. More long breakaway plays this time by a rookie QB. This defense is putrid.

  67. Td Says:

    Bredeson hurt. What a surprise.

  68. MikeCk Says:

You guys who are calling for Licht to go and/or complaining that the team doesn’t have talent clearly don’t know what the F*** you are talking about. Licht is known around the league as being ONE OF THE BEST GMs. He has drafted unbelievably good players in later rounds. Sterling Shepard and Tez Johnson- for instance – aren’t #1 or #2 WRs, but they CLEARLY outplay their 7th round draft pick and unsigned free agent pedigree.

How many times over the first 5 weeks did we see Baker hit an open receiver with a great pass? A lot. But since week 5 or so, I’m watching Baker drop back, scan….scan..:scan….and finally try and thread the ball or a covered WR. Do you guys think WRs who are getting open for 5 weeks all of a sudden lose quickness or forget routes? No. Teams watch film and adjust. Clearly our coordinator can’t

We have loads of talent on offense. Hell, Evans is a #1WR…but Godwin, Ebuka, and McMillan are #2s on many other teams. We have a stable of great receivers and 3 good RBs. Our O-line – when healthy- is excellent. We have some studs on the D-line as well. Our LB corps is a little weak but the talent in the secondary is decent. Although im Pretty sure our training staff should be fired because someone on it has Munchausen by proxy: no excuse for a RB to be out 8 weeks with a shoulder injury

90% of the problem is coaching. They need to fire Bowles- he brings nothing. He is not a “culture guy” like Vrabel or Campbell, and he is not a “Scheme guy” like Payton, Shannahan or McVae. Bucs have underperformed since Bowles took over.

Second- fire the O coordinator. He was “the guy left in the building” after the last 2 left.

But anyone who knows anything about the game and has been watching this team for the last 3 years can see that the issue isn’t talent, ownership or General management- all are tops league wide. It is our coaching and coordination. All the talent in the world can’t help you if your defense is out of position and WRs are running into coverage

  69. Curse of Gruden Says:

Most of these guys are soft, like the HC.

  70. ChiBuc Says:

    New Young coach

Does that come with an egg roll

  71. Ben Says:

Who replaces Bowles after the season? Have to be smart or Baker will leave and we don’t want to see another decade of darkness

  72. Capt.Tim Says:

Coach Bowles has taken the Bucs to the Playoffs every year he has been head Coach.
He has won the NFC South Championship every year he has coached the team.

Are you guys really stupid enough to think he will be fired?
    Lmao.
No Coach in the league has a better record of winning his division.
    No one.
What a bunch of entitled crybabies.

Injuries have ravaged the team.BUT WE ARE STILL TIED FOR FIRST PLACE.
What has become obvious is that we need a Defensive Coordinator.
If we beat the Panther both games. We will win the division.
    If not, we won’t.
Obviously we’ve learned that we can’t count on old Wide Receivers or old linebackers.
And we have to get a pass rusher
    Easy fixes.
Health is a huge factor in team success. We have been unlucky this year.
    It’s that simple
