“We’ll See If He Can Take A Hit”

November 10th, 2025

The head coach talks Bucky Irving.

Joe wrote yesterday that injured running back Bucky Irving was bouncing around the pregame field, running, dancing a little and looking fresh.

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles was asked about that today, and whether that means Irving’ bad shoulder, and not his ankle, is the issue keeping him off the field.

Bowles acknowledged the shoulder primiary.

“We’ll see if he can take a hit,” Bowles said.

Interestingly, Bowles was then asked if his comments mean Irving is ready to practice this week. Bowles poured cold water on that idea.

“I didn’t say [Bucky is a possibility to practice this week]. I said, ‘Hopefully we get him back soon. I didn’t say he was practicing this week,'” Bowles replied with authority.

Joe’s going to scratch Irving off the “hope” list at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters when it comes to Sunday’s game at Buffalo, where the forecast is now for rain and 47 degrees at kickoff.

Probably gonna lose the next two games regardless of Bucky’s availability. Super Bowl contenders in their own minds only. Reality has yet to set in

If the Fins can beat Buffalo…so too can the Bucs.

    No excuses!!!!

  3. Rover Says:

I love the transparency of this coaching staff and medical staff. Way to keep the fans engaged in this inevitable fall-off. We’ll just pray the Falcons beat the Panthers while we spiral and try to get a couple wins late in the season. God Bless Todd Bowles. Go Bucs!

  4. SB~LV Says:

That must be a figure of speech and not a medical test to see if he can play.
First of all not being told what the injury is it’s silly speculation for any and everything

  5. WiscoJoe Says:

    Feed Sean Tucker

  6. Smarter than Joe Says:

6-5 is coming, 3 game losing streak is a Todd Blows specialty

  7. Bobby M. Says:

If Tucker could catch, he would be an every down solution, he’s got excellent vision and runs well. The offense is a tad handcuffed in play calling with White and Tucker going back and forth. Irving would probably be my preferred player to come back from injury if I was forced to pick one.

  8. Lightningvinny1 Says:

The good news is it was an AFC loss and Panthers/Falcons lost so , still ok for division

  9. Bucman Says:

Don’t hurry his return. Low chance of beating the Bills & Rams. Save him for the long hull.

    I AGREE!!!!…

we can beat them and no excuses!!!!

Grizz has to run the ball…he abandons the run too quick…once he does that, his play calling becomes predictable….

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  11. ballwasher61 Says:

Well why don’t we just sit the whole team for 2 weeks and send in a note to the Bills and the Rams and say we forfeit? How tough does that look? This team, even without some players can beat anyone. If they don’t believe that then they should be off the team. It’s time for these guys to act like grown ups, own up and get their pissed off hats on and just start going to town cause no one is going to hand them anything. Grab ahold of the one that hasn’t dropped yet and give it a good yank, only hurts for a few seconds. I get really tired of hearing losers mentality with some of these post’s, go out and KICK THEIR ASSES

  12. Bucs Reality Check Says:

WHEN DO WE FIND OUT WHAT RYAN JENSEN’S INJURY IS? STILL WAITING.

  13. jimmy Says:

did they ever say what is wrong with is shoulder? separated?

  14. Bartow Buc Says:

I believe the Bucs will win at least one of the next two games. Just not sure which one !! They aren’t going 0-3 in this stretch.

    Go Bucs !!

  15. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“did they ever say what is wrong with is shoulder? separated?”

Reports were that it was a partial separation, and that was MUCH more serious than the foot sprain. Now, we don’t know when he’ll be back nor do we know if he’ll need surgery in the offseason.

How could a team, a coaching staff, an organization not prepare adequately for a team like the Patriots. I’m done with injuries as an excuse. They had 2 stars out as well. The HC gets pointed when asked a question and the OC is lost as a goose in a snowstorm. If the Bucs finish 9-8 they will be lucky. Perhaps JL knew how bad the team was and he wasn’t going to trade away draft picks for a lost season.

  17. Rick Says:

None of it matters. We are one-and-done in the playoffs regardless.

    Injuries ended our season.

  18. Outrigger Says:

After we lose to the Bills and Rams, we play the Cardinals and Saints at home. That should get us to 8-5 going into the Thursday night game with the Falcons.

  19. Buc1987 Says:

Bucs Reality Check…why do you care about Ryan Jensen?

  20. Rob Says:

The Bills run defense is an abomination. If Bucky were healthy…he would kill it. I do think this is a game where Sean Tucker needs to be featured. Buffalo has no gap control and the holes are often enormous. But you need a back with speed to really make them pay. White lacks the burst to create the big play. Buffalo’s DBs can close in time to limit White. Effectively neutralizing what should be a huge advantage for us. To beat the Bills we need explosive plays.

unfortunately, Grizz will have baker throwing 40+ times in windy, rainy, 40 degree weather….White and Tucker will get 8 carriers each and Grizz will say, “we thought we could attack their secondary”

    GO BUCS!!!!

With the field conditions in Buffalo it’s probably a good idea to wait another week with Bucky especially if he isn’t 100%

  24. Davenport Says:

Even with losses to the Bills and Rams, the Bucs win the division by beating Carolina twice and Atlanta once again. We are winning our division by default for the 4th straight year.

No need to rush anyone back until Dec 7 (Saints) at the earliest. There’s nothing to gain and alot to risk by playing anyone earlier than then.

  25. Nick jannette Says:

On 3rd and 3 why didn’t they roll baker out to wide side of field with a trailing wr and a rb out in flats? I run better plays on madden then on 4th take the fg

Bowles being kept on after last year ended our season. We’re seeing exactly what we all knew we were getting this year.

  27. Deuceswild78 Says:

Rams game is most important of next two… hopefully he’s back… we lose that game and we only have the tiebreaker with Seattle of the top nfc teams
