New England 28, Bucs 23

November 9th, 2025

What a football war it was today at The Licht House, a physical old school slugfest on a choppy wet field.

Unfortunately, the Bucs didn’t have enough defense — or offense — to beat back the in-your-face Patriots.

Most disappointing to “this Joe” was the Bucs defense showing loafs on multiple plays and simply looking a step slower than New England for too much of the game. Coming off a bye week? Why?

Tampa Bay sinks to 6-3, which is heroic in the sadsack NFC South. The Falcons fell to 3-6 and the bumbling Panthers (5-5) lost at home to the slimy Saints.

It’s good to live in the South!

Joe is down. Not only have the Bucs lost two of their last three games, Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard didn’t have a strong day. Baker Mayfield wasn’t his best, and Bucs receivers struggled to get open too often.

Kudos to the Bucs’ rushing attack, which was steady all day, having the best rushing day of the season against New England’s defense — 21 carries for 113 yards.

As for the Bucs defense, they gave up big play after big play after big play — 436 yards in total. One of the killers was 32 years old receiver Mack Jones, 4.53 speed at the NFL Scouting Combine about 10 years ago, blew past Zyon McCollum down field on a go route for a 54-yard dagger.

Clock management? Joe has questions.

Lots of answers coming next week at struggling Buffalo, which lost to Miami today.

  1. Alstott40 Says:

Liam Cohen is about to be 6-3, same as we are, with a brand new team with a lot a less talent.

  2. ModHairKen Says:

Outplayed but played well. Missing Irvin. Godwin. Evans. Mauch.

  3. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Fire Josh Grizzard now!!!!

    šŸ’©

  4. StormyInFl Says:

Hey–glad we kept those picks! These backups are fire!

  5. Whatevs Says:

Fire Todd Bowles, fire the entire coaching staff, and fire Doughboy Licht

  6. Jeff Says:

Pathetic. Bowles has got to go. Had a chance to lock Coen in for years. And the Bucs blew it. Pretend it’s anything else and you’re a fool.

  7. Rod Munch Says:

Not worried about it, Baker looked better, but doesn’t have the weapons when you’re facing top corners. If / when the Bucs ever get everyone back, that’s enough to win these games. Just have to make sure we make the playoffs.

  8. StormyInFl Says:

    Oh and agreed.

    Josh Byron Grizzardwich sucks.

  9. Whatevs Says:

Glazers shut the SB window when they chose Sleepy Todd over Coen.

  10. 813bucboi Says:

    Offense cost us the game!!!

Defense gave up big plays but got stops….

Grizz is in over his head

    GO BUCS

  11. FlumundaCheese Says:

Yep. Could have had Coen and kept a good offensive system in place. We chose this clown show.

  12. WillS0024 Says:

Bucs were out-coached big time on offense. And as much as I love Lavonte David and that defense relies on him completely to get everyone together, he has lost a couple of steps.

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Baker still didn’t run. Thinking maybe he’s still sore?

I thought this was a VERY good game. It was two of the top teams in the NFL, very similar.

The simple truth is this: This matchup could have been a preview of the Superbowl.

  14. Dano407 Says:

Offense was Bad. Tough to watch.

  15. Pmike Says:

    Coen is garbage lol

  16. ElioT Says:

Poor coaching and complacency to be 6-3.

Jason Lichtmyballs did NOTHING to help this team when they really needed it.

Save those picks for more bums like Logan Hall, Morrison, McCollum, etc..

This is not a playoff caliber team.

  17. Bee Says:

No Mike, Chris and Bucky is making Baker look mortal. Plus Grizz doesn’t like slants or quick passes. Oh well, on to the next

  18. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Josh Grizzard is such a play caller….that a high-school offense has more imagination than the Bucs

  19. IrishTony Says:

Yeah not enough options for Mayfield but he also made bad decisions!!!

  20. Trey Alderson-Cloutier Says:

Gizzard is not very creative. I’m sorry. Same plays all season, teams are picking up on it. I know it’s his first year, but man I wish we still had Coen.

  21. Erik with Pilot and Driverā„¢ Says:

    Josh Grizzard is not good.

Also, Bowles made a few crucial bad playcalls on Defense as well.

Looks like we’ll prob lose the next 2 games too in all honesty.

Baker isn’t playing good enough right now to carry the team like he did the 1st 5 weeks.

  22. Bnasty25 Says:

Say whatever you want but 196 yard on 3 plays cost us the game….

  23. Jameis Says:

Vea loafed multiple times and should have had a sack on a few occasions. Lame showing.

  24. SB~LV Says:

    WR corp is DEPLETED
don’t even count on ME and CG for next year
WR is top priority in the offseason
    FA and the draft!

Baker had to hold on to the ball TOO LONG because nobody was open except for check downs to Otton

  25. 813bucboi Says:

White and tucker ran great today

Grizz abandoned the run as usual and got too pass happy

Grizz is in over his head

    GO BUCS

  26. WillS0024 Says:

Losing Bredeson was also huge because Michael Jordan was awful.

  27. BucsBeast Says:

Bowels of Bowles Defensive scheme strikes again.

  28. LVMYBUCS Says:

So many good players and so many bad coaches

  29. Tackleblockwin Says:

Patriots offense = Strategic. Bucs offense = Backyard football. At least the Panthers and Falcons lost too today.

  30. UKBuccaneer Says:

Everyone would have taken 6-3 before week 1. This team still ain’t healthy.

But of course it’s Tampa so that’s an unnatural reaction.

  31. Joaquim Valente Says:

The blame for this loss falls on Todd Bowles and Jason Licht. Their stubbornness and arrogance prevented and is preventing this team from getting better while our competition in the NFC (eagles & Seahawks) made solid moves to get better. You can’t convince me that this game would have had a different outcome if we had pro talent at ILB or a true edge rusher. Then again dip sh!t would have had our best pass rusher covering a WR instead of rush the passer.

  32. AstralTurf Says:

They only do well when they are under the radar. Maybe now they can go back under the radar…

  33. Bee Says:

The Bucs needs a real double digit sack player. No more sacks by committee. Its too inconsistent.

  34. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    JOSH GRIZZARD HAS TO GO!!!!!!

  35. Geno711 Says:

The rookie WRs are fine. It appears that the other WRs are all worthless. None of them seem to get open. Be curious if the all-22 confirms my suspicions but that has been the case the last three games.

  36. Please Says:

You’re putting this on the defense?!? The offense had multiple chances and gagged. Baker sucked today, the playcalling wasn’t opportunistic… just awful to watch.

  37. Whatevs Says:

Shame we couldn’t trade Todd at the deadline.

  38. IrishTony Says:

This is a playoff caliber team with everyone healthy. Thank god they’re in a godawful division😃😃😃😃🄹

  39. Colonel Angus Says:

Gotta get healthy man. Need Bucky and at least Godwin back. 6-3 still leading division so sky ain’t falling yet. But if we back into another division title at 10-7, It’ll be time for a new coaching staff. Baker seems off, not making them plays with his legs like earlier in season. Defense is up and down. Need to find a way to win 1 of these next 2, preferably vs Rams. Gonna be a butt clincher every week. So far we’ve avoided a losing streak, Bills are definitely gonna have that fire this week.

  40. Clownwich Says:

Damn. Pressure from the D line was very disappointing. Closely followed by the Def as a whole. Grizzard’s play calling was lacking… same for Mayfield. However, I do believe the result would be different if the offense was at full strength.

  41. Erik with Pilot and Driverā„¢ Says:

Joe, that wasn’t Mack Jones on that last go route dagger.

That was Hollins I’m pretty sure

  42. 941bucsfan Says:

Allstott40 has been waiting to say that lol. He just had to find the right time. However joe I will say this, bye weeks dont always help. Sure they help with injuries, but sometimes they kill momentum. Detroit beat us on mnf, then had a bye, and came out and got beat by jj mccarthy at home. And they have a coach that everyone loves

  43. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    JOSH GRIZZARD = šŸ’©

  44. LVMYBUCS Says:

Happens every year with Bowles at the helm he is like Dungi, get us to the playoff but never to a SB they will fire him and bring in a real coach and then we go to the SB

  45. NE Fan Says:

No shame in that loss, Bucs played a 7-2 team one of two top in NFL Maye a definite MVP candidate. You cruise through your division because it is a bad one, worst in the league. Bye,Bye Bucs, you needed the GOAT to get ti the house, too bad he’s gone.

  46. heyjude Says:

We are still in the hunt. Wait until we get Mike, Bucky, and Chris back. The Bucs will be a force.

  47. Rod Munch Says:

We’re not going to play a team again this year that has a corner duo that good – although the Rams always kill the Bucs, so that’s an L, but things will, outside of that game, get easier from here on our.

Getting Bucky back will be huge, and hopefully same with Godwin. In theory even Evans could be back in 4 weeks I think – hopeful, but possible, but he should be back before the end of the year.

On defense, I don’t count the last play since once you give up the first down you might as well let them score since it’s the only chance you have – but otherwise, they gave up some big plays, but held them to 21 points really.

Very encouraged by the defense, if you’re not, then it’s because you’re an idiot that doesn’t know what they’re watching.

Baker getting the ball three times a row in the 4th quarter with a chance to take the lead and getting 0 points, that is not encouraging, but again, the Bucs are missing LG1, RG1, WR1, WR2, WR4, RB1 – that’s a lot of missing parts. For the most part I think Baker played OK today, will have to see the ALL22 to see if he had guys open, but I doubt it.

Anywho, not worried about this game – just ran out of guys vs a team that is better right now. But, give me back Bucky, Evans and Godwin – plus McMillan and LG1, and the Bucs win this every time – and it’s possible all those guys are back by the end of the year.

  48. DHev Says:

With a 28-16 score, here comes the mid-season swoon.
But for the lousy play of the rest of the NFC South allowing for a first place position, the Bucs are a middling team.
Fundamental question: with the 3-4 defense used and the rules as they are today with no touchy the QB or Receivers- you have stockpiled a group of ā€œoutside linebackersā€ that are neither pass rushers on the edge nor proficient pass defenders – allowing quality opposing QBs to make simple decisions and kill that Defense.
That defense is simply too much of a clever scheme compared to a smash mouth crew. I guess I just miss Chuck Bednarik, Butkus, Lambert or Hardy Nickerson.

  49. Miller5252 Says:

Buffalo is going to be playing PO’d next week and the Bucs batter be ready. Mayfield doesn’t even look close to the same. The Oline looked better when everyone was hurt and not playing in their positions. Not looking good

  50. HeartyDickerson Says:

We look absolutely mediocre on both sides of the ball.

So glad we gave up Coen for this rookie play caller and an over-the-hill, stubborn 60+ year old defensive coach.

We’ll be lucky to make the payoffs, much less win a game. But that’s Jason ā€œFred Flinstoneā€ Licht’s MO: keep his job safe by keeping this team just barely competitive.

  51. Bartow Buc Says:

Heartbreaking loss Joe no doubt about it. Just shows how badly we miss Evans, Godwin, McMillan, and Irving. The Bucs defense allowed too many big plays and the Patriots defense played consistently well all the way to the end. That last big play on Cade Otten was huge, then they sacked Baker !!
    It’s a good thing Carolina lost !!

    Go Bucs !!

  52. Rob5 Says:

say what you want but if we had are starters we will this game no problem…injuries are ruining our season
    sucks…

  53. Godlovesbucs Says:

4 plays beat tampa. Poor execution on 4 plays and that was the game difference. With the offense so banged up, the d needs to be perfect, and they were bad on 4 plays.

  54. Marky mark Says:

Big plays given up. Untimely drops and penalties.

  55. SBucs13 Says:

Todd outcoached once again. No adjustments, no understanding of what to do during a bye week. 1-3 after bye week says all.

  56. JustOneGame Says:

Out of the bye week, at home, doing nothing during the trade deadline. This was pathetic of a performance one could imagine. Don’t want to hear it about NE being now 8-2. Out of the bye at home you have to win the F’ing game. Grizz looks lost and when players are open Baker looks like Hellen Keller throwing the ball. No rhythm on offense and the D is continuously of position. Need Bucky, Godwin, Evans and Coen back asap

  57. Vegasbuc Says:

Every one of you voted for confidence in Todd to win the game you guys are idiots.

  58. Chris Says:

We really are not that good the games we did win were down to the wire and pure luck and grizzled grizzard is not good

The simple truth is this: This matchup could have been a preview of the Superbowl.

    ———–

Agreed. People need to chill out with all the doom and gloom. The Pats were better today vs a diminished Bucs team. Give me both teams at or near full strength, and the Bucs win this.

  60. 813bucboi Says:

Grizz should’ve kept running the ball

    He’s too pass happy

grizz is in over his head

    GO BUCS

  61. WillS0024 Says:

Disgusting number of chuckleheads from up Noth at the stadium today too.

  62. rrsrq Says:

Baker was locked and loaded on EEand appeared to miss several receivers, that were open, i.e., Miller, Kam and why os our 6’7ā€ not being used

  63. MikeBuc Says:

I think this games showed we should have brough in a receiver. We are down basically to Egbuka, tez and shephard (and in my mind that order in terms of play at WR)

so two rookies and one vet. Don’t want to heat about Baker being off. theres often now where to throw the ball.

  64. ElioT Says:

    zero pass rush.

    One F****** sack.

Bunch of average dudes doing average things.

Huge play by Tykee and Grizz & Bake couldn’t do anything.

Lots of luck vs a pissed off Bills team.

  65. Davenport Says:

    No surprise
Bucs are an upper middle class team. Not elite and definitely not championship quality. Talent may be there. Coaching is not.

  66. Whatevs Says:

Grizz is in way over his head.

  67. Chad Says:

Rod said it best, just got to make the playoffs and give this team a full healthy offense and defense. Patriots have 2 top 10 corners, a top 5 linebacker and an overall very good defense, at some point teams will have to figure out how to cover Evans, Godwin, ee2, and McMillan, throw tez Johnson in there too if you want. Good luck to any defense that has to face that

  68. ElioT Says:

So much for that vaunted rush defense

  69. Rob5 Says:

not just our team …its hurting teams across the league …bad for the NFL…not fair to fans…

  70. HeartyDickerson Says:

It’s games like these that combine me Todd Bowles is lazy AF. An entire bye week to research, gameplan, and prepare. Yet, same old tired plays. Nothing new. Another loss.

  71. richbucsfan Says:

The FO suffers from a pathological case of stubbornness and ridiculous commitment to not trading to improve deficiencies in both the O and the D. The substitute for strategic management is the concept of hope.

  72. adam from ny Says:

    we scored first…

then got lit up by a trifecta of big plays…

semi-sleepwalked out of the bye week…

    dang shame…pats aren’t great – they are good…

bad loss going into buffalo and the rams…

and we are actually lucky the saints won a game today as well…otherwise those lame panthers would be on us

  73. Bucsfan4life Says:

Should of made some trades there Johnny boy!!!

  74. Sword n pen 58 Says:

The BUCS looked uninspired today! Wirfs is getting his butt handed to him and so is barton
BAKER has no time to set up and throw.
On the other hand our LACK of pass rush is painfully evident !
Why did we not pursue a pass rusher before the trade deadline!

  75. Clownwich Says:

Some poster here are delusional. Blame Bowels or Licht if you want but to say it was because a trade wasn’t made is idiotic. Any player(s) picked up within the last 10 day would have little to no impact this week.

  76. rrsrq Says:

How was there no adjustments, the defense just gave up two explosive plays in the second half, those are run fits

  77. LVMYBUCS Says:

    @HeartyDickerson Says
    AGREED 1000%

  78. Rod Munch Says:

BTW, get that bum Shepard off the field. You want to blame anyone for the loss today, it’s that idiot. He sucks. Cut him.

  79. Marky mark Says:

Pick up a receiver from the cfl. Season end for them nov 16

  80. Vegasbuc Says:

Hopefully you don’t vote for us to win next week when we get our arses handed to us in Buffalo .weak coaching staff!!!!!

  81. Ed Says:

Defense was rested and basically at full strength but they were horrendous on third downs and let an offensive line that gives up a lot of sacks give Maye enough time to make clutch 3rd down after 3rd down.

This Buc team despite a 6-3 record doesn’t oppose its will on any team. This defense today was one of the reasons for the loss and the offense was bad on 3rd down and on 4th down. I don’t think Grizzard is up to the task and for such a great offensive line the Bucs are supposed to have they are giving up lots of sacks and Mayfield looks like he has happy feet. Again he was missing throws.

They need to watch film of the offense from last year and just keep the same plays. Throw out the Grizzard book and put back Coen’s offense. It’s so damn frustrating seeing sideways screens to Be bite and Otton getting blown up.

  82. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Offense can’t score on consecutive positions and the defense can’t hold the weight of an inconsistent offense all game.

Who do we get next season to replace Bridgewater?

When do we draft another WR & OG next spring?

We need a rangy possession WR, preferably with some
Juice to add to Egbuka & JMac

Nakhai Hill-Green at ILB next spring.

  83. Les Says:

GIZZ PLAY CALLS SUCKED .LOOKED LIKE A ROOKIE ! DEFENCE CANT STOP THE BIG PLAY .BUT OFFENCE HAD THERE CHANCES WHEN BUCS D HELD . DROPPED PASSES AND CRAPPY PLAY CALLING KILLED US . ! GIZ IS NO COEN ! WE GO OUT IN THE FIRST ROUND AGAIN ! FIRE THE COACH .

  84. tampabuscsbro Says:

BTW guys wanting Coen, they just blew a massive lead to the Texans.

  85. ElioT Says:

The Morrison and Dean rotation worked out really well huh?

    Genius defensive calls today.

  86. ElioT Says:

24 play drive to close the half.

Todd is vastly overrated as a DC.

  87. Obvious Says:

I’ve been a huge fan of Todd’s awakening to modern offensive football…..using timeouts, going for it on 4 th down and considering the injuries I think he’s done a good job managing the game.

However, the defense giving up three huge plays (after giving up the long Gibbs td) is a big red flag.

If you can’t beat good teams, what does it matter?

The next two weeks are key for understanding what this team is and if Todd can get us to a SB.

  88. Whatevs Says:

My guess. After three straight losses The Bucs Cards game will be a cheap ticket. 25.00 to get in the door.

    Empty.

    8-9 NFC South Champs

Todd gets into the RoH. Another glorious year from our great leader

  89. Jamaican Jaris Says:

maybe we should have done SOMETHING prior to the trade deadline -hhhmmmhhh?

  90. Saskbucs Says:

Yep gave up 4 big plays and with that offense … all it takes which is crazy. Didn’t see this coming today.

Also the first series on O and D just went too well. Bucs thought so as well it seemed and lost their killer edge. Poor playcalling. Woof. Buffalo is ticked now too. Grizz better have a much better plan next week. Can’t be 0-2 going to LA.

  91. Marky mark Says:

You don’t b have to compensate the cfl team after the grey cup nov 16

  92. LVMYBUCS Says:

U lose after coming off a bye week in ur own house oooooo its because we dont have ME and Godwin or Bucky oooooooo please we have plenty of good players u can just see crappy coaching every season even Romo can see whats being called but Bowles and Griz cant. DOPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  93. ElioT Says:

Panthers lose- of course the Bucs can’t take advantage.

  94. Whatevs Says:

I may have to open up an Etsy shop to sell those 2026 NFL Draft Champions T shirts

  95. PSLBucfan Says:

Thank God our division sucks. Without Bucky, Mike, and Chris we will soon be 6-5. Limping and needing help to make the playoffs.

  96. Allen Lofton Says:

The injuries are catching up and the Bucs replacements can’t keep up with the first team players.

Looks like a real slippery slide for the next couple of games. Need healthy first team players to heal over the second half of the season ASAP.

  97. gotbbucs Says:

The Todd Bowles mid-season slump in full swing. It’s like clockwork. Injuries are definitely a factor on offense, obviously. Defense can’t get any pressure.

  98. Whatevs Says:

Or I will ship them to a 3rd world county. Rod what is your address?

  99. firethecannons Says:

Braswell needs to be cut–he should get no snaps going forward–just not good or even average

  100. Bucfan1988 Says:

4 defensive mistakes cost us big time today……

Patriots shoulda NEVER even been close to scoring 28 points…..

2 Treveon Henderson runs / the last run was GOAL LINE OFFENSE from the Patriots and Bucs can’t fit an outside run gap to contain it. Absolutely PATHETIC!!!

1 crossing route to ROOKIE Harris when Bowles decided to give Benjamin Morrison some snaps and Morrison butchers the play and misses tackle…

1 54 yard throw on 3rd & 14 to MACK HOLLINS of all people that is like a 3rd string WR now. Zyon McCollum refuses to run with him until AFTER HOLLINS RUNS BY HIM…..Freaken ridiculous!!!!!

Baker played great for the hand he was dealt. Missed a few throws and you can still tell he is injured as he had times to run but decided against it.

This loss was all ok defensive stupidity and bad offensive & defensive coaching…

  101. Redzone Says:

The Bucs are who we thought they were

If I were an OC going against Bowles she’ll-game scheme I would not be afraid

How embarrassing that the weakest link of the team since 2021 is the HCs responsibility and no one with any power has the balls to say it

  102. Gofortheface30 Says:

Rod – assuming Godwin and Evans will be back and playing like actual Weapons is equivalent to me thinking I’m gnna his on my 14 leg parlay. A massive leap of faith. I’m literally stupified that we should sit here and assume 2 guys that don’t ever see the field TOGETHER is going to come and save the day. Incredible.

  103. Bucs4Ever Says:

Grizzard is not an NFL OC

    He sucks

    Playcalling was garbage

  104. TheBucsAnthem Says:

The only bright side to the BUCS CRAP performance today is the both the Panthers and Falcons lost……

……….Maybe the Bucs aren’t shooting for BYE, but now just playing to get into the Playoffs

  105. Bucs4Ever Says:

Buffalo is gonna be out for blood BTW…6-4 looking like ass

  106. Bartow Buc Says:

Rod Munch, what you said in your last post makes sense and helps heal my broken heart a little. Thanks.
Tez Johnson sure did shine today !! 2 TDs that is so big for a rookie receiver!!

    Go Bucs !!

  107. Jerseybuc Says:

    813 must be bowels nephew
No the defense was not good not at all 436 yards is not good big plays on 3rf n longs all day.
Call it how it is n yes the offense is 3 weeks of trash!!

  108. Bnasty25 Says:

I thought we needed more tempo today for sure it was killing them… You could see our speed beating them on O. Some iffy play calls for sure but the three touchdowns for 196 yards killed us. I thought we were going to run more on O

    Alstott40,

Your comment did not age well.

  111. ModHairKen Says:

All you Coen Boys need to look at the choke job that he just posted.

    Dooo-val Dumbass.

  112. Les Says:

Bucs had there chances ,play calls sucked .went away from the run to early when working coukd have tired them out . But no. . Recievers open ,baker misses .overthrown balls. Dropped balls ,missed passes . We are going backward. HIRE a defence coach ! Suck of this crap on 3rd. Down.

  113. richbucsfan Says:

Grizz was a Licht HOPE HIRE. He never coached at any level nor called plays at any level, yet the Bucs, a multimillion dollar organization hired him to run a key part of it its team. How does that happen? Truly unbelievable. Only the Bucs ….

  114. Buc2Blame Says:

This Team needs a real Franchise QB and a real Offensive Coordinator.

  115. Sheen Says:

L M A O at yall pining for Coen, just got clowned in Houston

  116. LawrenceDawsey Says:

JAX and Coen are 5-4 ya idiots

  117. Kenton Smith Says:

When your QB plays that good and you lose explains why QBs get paid. Shep penalty and Otten drop and Kam Johnson drop all would have changed the outcome. No excuse for defense allowing 3 touchdowns of that length, no matter how well they played the game. Good solid team loss. Thought we were a better team than that.

  118. Hodad Says:

Todd’s defense gave up 436 yards of offense at home! Two long TD runs, inexcusable. Dennis is nowhere to be found on either run, total garbage. He’s the worst, should’ve been replaced after the second game! He can’t cover, can’t run fit, what’s he good at besides chasing guys from behind? At least we know the truth about this team now. Average in a bad division. Pretenders, not contenders. Zyon is trash, never should’ve paid him before the season. Want to really set this team back? Give Baker a big new deal, resign White, and keep Godwin, and pay Evans again. The mid season skid is here folks. Rams, and Bills are going to destroy us.

  119. NE Fan Says:

Every team has injuries. You lost to a rookie QB and 3rd string RB and a no name D. Bucs aren’t that good Rod Munch.

  120. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Bnasty25

the offensive play calling is so bad that the Bucs cannot even execute a hurry up offense if you didn’t notice that today…….so much luck out there……Baker doesn’t even look comfortable

  121. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    My thoughts:

šŸˆ Baker Mayfield is still sore. He didn’t put himself out there like he does when healthy. Another week of healing should help a lot. Don’t expect him to practice every day this week.

šŸˆ The Patriots are one of, if not THE best team in the AFC. I get the feeling we might face them in the SUPERBOWL. (and yes, losers, the Bucs will go)

šŸˆ Josh Grizzard is a rookie Offensive Coordinator. Give him time.

šŸˆ Fans are down on the Defense…they actually played very well. The PATs offense was better…this time around. Remember, the defense is just starting to get its rhythm with a bunch of young players. They’ll be improving from game to game.

šŸˆ The AFC East teams are really battling this year. Colts are too.

šŸˆ Todd Bowles did decent today. This was a true duel of head coaches. Bowles lost, but that does not mean he isn’t one of the best.

šŸˆ People saying we ‘gave up Coen’ are revising history. He left us, we didn’t send him away. BTW…he has the same record as us.

šŸˆ The WILL NOT be a midseason slump, but even if there were, it would not matter.

šŸˆ These games mean nothing except to get us into the playoffs…and we will make it in. The goal is to be able to compete by the time the PLAYOFFS START.

I was pretty certain we would win this game. Very much so. But we lost. It happened.

Now we move on to the Bills…who are great, but not unbeatable. We need Baker to catch fire.

  122. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Kiss the #1 seed goodbye. Good thing we play in an awful division. We’ll win it, under duress. If we’re healthy, we will be a tough out in the playoffs. Stop going for 2 at stupid times!

    TheBucsAnthem Says:
“the offensive play calling is so bad that the Bucs cannot even execute a hurry up offense if you didn’t notice that today…”

The last TD was hurry-up offense, buddy.

WE LET TONY DUNGEE GO FOR A LOT LESS THAN BOWLES . HE STINKS AS A MOTAVATOR AND I AM TIRED OF HEARING WHAT A GREAT D COACH HE IS . HE IS NOT ! WE GO OUT IN THE FIRST ROUND AGAIN THIS YEAR LIKE EVERY YEAR SINCE BRADY HE NEEDS TO BE LET GO !

  125. SavannahGABuc24 Says:

Coming off bye, didn’t fix a thing. Offense was underwhelming and defensive had its ups and downs. Gotta fix this, Buffalo is next.

Incredible.

    ————–

Well you do know they’ve played together for almost the last decade or so, right? It’s really not hard to fathom how they could both come back from injury when the information we have says they should both come back from injury.

The fact Godwin was never put on IR means he is expected back, and soon. Evans timeline is as short as 6 weeks, but 8 weeks seems to be very typical, which would still mean he’d have 3 weeks left to get up to speed. There’s no reason to discount that as it’s the most likely scenario – based on what we know.

McMillan I have no idea, I see reports that say he may never play again, to first week of Dec he should start practicing.

Bucky had better be back next week – if not the training staff, whoever is giving these bad timelines, they should all be fired.

Buck up little fella, help is on the way.

  127. Ed Says:

What makes the fans on this post think that McMillan is coming back this year?

What makes anyone think Godwin will have any burst in those legs?

Tez Johnson is a playmaker. Maybe Grizzard will wake up and start targeting him more. Otton is just too slow to be targeted. Yes he does get open but he gets no separation. The other teams don’t gameplan for him so he is going to get some chances but I’d rather see more offense through Tez. He has juice and moves. Very promising young player.

And how come every time they throw to White he’s swarmed for no gain? The Patriots knew exactly what our offense was doing. They were prepared, our bye week must have been a vacation.

  128. DS Says:

Y’all not gunna wanna hear this but I heard Bucky is healthy but has been battling mental health issues and got involved with the wrong crowd

  129. Ballwin Bucs Fan Says:

Todd Bowles is too predictable and squandering an all-time great roster Licht has built. When Tony Romo knows what defense you’re calling in advance, you’ve got problems.

  130. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    ā€œThe last TD was hurry-up offense, buddyā€œ

Had zero effect on the outcome of the game, fact is when it mattered the calls and execution were in the gutter on offense today.

  131. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Pats and Bills are AFC teams. They wouldn’t hurt our #1 seed stance.

  132. DBS Says:

Alstott40 What happened to Cohen? Totally outscored in the 4tth Quarter. Against the Texans? Any given Sunday.

  133. ModHairKen Says:

    Warren Brooks Lynch Says
“Had zero effect on the outcome of the game…”

It got us in a position to onside kick. It was successful. We just didn’t get that kick. That’s Special Teams, not offense.

  136. Alstott40 Says:

Oh no so Jags lost. I’ll rephrase. Cohen is 1 game worse with a brand new team than Bowles, while Bowles has a much more talented even with the injuries, and 21 more years of coaching experience. Also doesn’t have a “Ahh shucks” grin on his face everytime we have a bad play.

  137. Bucs4Ever Says:

    Here’s the problem…this isn’t a SB winning D or O

That is the problem. Loser coaching staff

  138. ModHairKen Says:

Liam Cohen is about to be 6-3, same as we are, with a brand new team with a lot a less talent.”

  140. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    So what’s that, 9, 16, and 23 points. 45 total points in 3 games?

  141. DS Says:

“WE GO OUT IN THE FIRST ROUND AGAIN THIS YEAR LIKE EVERY YEAR”

So you are saying we’ll make the playoffs? That would mean Bowles is good enough to win the division.

Tony Dungy won 1 division title. ONLY ONE. With the Bucs. He wasn’t fired because of his playoff record, he was fired because of backsliding in the NFC Central while running the Bucs.

lol defense gave up big plays that went in for easy touchdowns. they didn’t get enough stops. before halftime the offense left the field up 10-7. the next time they got the ball back they were down 21-10. that’s all on the defense.

You if you cannot name that credible source right now.

Buffalo will look Super Bowl ready next week against this sorry team

  148. buc4evr Says:

Wirfs got beat bad on 3rd and 11 and gave Baker up in a critical situation. Baker looked bad, WRs didn’t look good, O line was Ok most of the day. Secondary got torched when it counted. D line wasn’t getting home, but at least they were trying.

Good thing we don’t need an edge rusher or a Vet WR. Thanks Jason.

Grizz is a bottom feeder. Some of the play calling was just stupid. As always no confidence in Bowles. Hope Grizz gets hired as the new HC of the Browns next season. Get him outta here. lol.

  149. Eric Says:

Here comes that anual Bowles loosing streak

  150. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

  151. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Only Tampa fans would call their 6-3 team a sorry team. You guys are posers.

Anyway, I’m out. Too much whining and I have work to do.

  152. Boltsfan17 Says:

Team is so overrated. Play a good team and guess what happens. Licht and Bowles will doom this team.

  153. BucaneroJim Says:

Tez 4/5 and two TD… actually caught all 5 with the one out of bounds. EE 6/13. Otton 9/12. White 5/5. Shep 2/3. Durham 0/1. K Johnson 0/1. Miller 0/0.

    Baker needs to spread around.

  154. J Says:

Whoever thinks CG will come back and be the same he was prior to his injury still believes in fairy tales. Godwin will come back mediocre and leave at one point. He’s physically done. Should’ve let him walk and spent the money somewhere else.

  155. PassingThru Says:

Well as some of you old-timers know, I’m a New England fan though Tampa Bay has always been a team I always root for, with the single exception which is when they face the Pats.

The outcome would have been different with Evans, Godwin and Bucky.

  156. Hodad Says:

Good enough to win this division is like kissing your sister. You shouldn’t feel good about it!

  157. Mike Johnson Says:

Give’em credit. The New England patriots came to play. Their offense not only answered ours, but their O linewas great and Drake had more than ample time to hit his targets. And hit them he did. We did not rise to the occasion in the 4th qtr. So my hats off to the pats. We have no excuse. Well rested and should have played better. On to Buffalo. Better be ready. The Bills are mad…….

  158. DS Says:

Don’t shoot the messenger, also quit crying

  159. SBucs Says:

The Bucs are smoke and mirrors. Todd is not a good coach. Never been. In fact his overall record agrees with me. Jason is overrated. New England lost 13 games last year. A good coaching staff and they’re 8-2 and in first place in their division. Bucs are great at making excuses. Having to play better teams (three this year and two more to come) and the Bucs lose.

Baker still didn’t run. Thinking maybe he’s still sore?

I thought this was a VERY good game. It was two of the top teams in the NFL, very similar.

The simple truth is this: This matchup could have been a preview of the Superbowl.

  161. mj Says:

hard to win without weapons i still love our team go bucs! get em next week!!

  162. DBS Says:

The bye week was a vacation. They were given the entire week off . Then they comeback and what real practice do they do? A couple hours a day ? A couple days in underware. A couple in pads.

  163. Cybersecurity_intern Says:

Joe are you getting paid to defend Bowles?

  164. #1bucsfan Says:

Terrible play calling by grizz. Absolutely terrible. Baker and the MVP race haha. MVPs don’t play like trash 3 games in a row. Defense play calling was good. The execution was terrible. When they brought the blitz mays wasn’t fazed. How is he the 2nd most sacked QB in the league and we can’t get to him even when blitzing. Defense players didn’t show up today.

  165. DS Says:

Not trippin can’t win every game team has nothing going on offense and grizz calls bizarre plays and the defense has given up big plays often. My biggest problem with Licht is he wants to just build a roster when the goal
Is to win a Super Bowl

  166. Kenton Smith Says:

WBL and Rod Munch busy posting today. You guys know we were down 21-16 and Tykees pick gave us the ball at the 20. Baker was grinding that clock down and driving us right down the field for the win. Then Kam got alligator arms and Otten stone hands. Baker was on point to win. Then the defense let them bust another big play. Inexcusable.

  167. Gipper Says:

Would have liked to see Delp out there. He is a big body who can screen DB’s for inside catches. Surprised not enough quick inside slants. Pretty obvious that WR’s aren’t getting open on 15-20 yard routes. Keying way too much on EE with double coverage should leave someone else open. Thank God, Baker has only 2INT’s in 9 games. That just shuts up the couch coaches until the next incompletion or sack. Bucs were supposed to be a finished product if Baker would just cut down on the INT’s? Well, he has. This team isn’t as talented as most believe. Have 3 of top 4 receivers injured. If people here think this team strikes fear in anyone with a 145 lb WR, and a few other WR’s that were doubtful for even making the team out of camp, that’s magical thinking.

  168. JC Bigornia Says:

Damn, Bucs fans may be the whiniest bunch of a-holes I’ve ever heard. Every freaking team has looked mortal this season. Did this team probably play out of its ass the first half of the season? Is it coming back down to earth with the injuries taking its toll? Yes and yes. But to read the comments here it’s like the season is over. They are still 6-3 in a terrible division where each team seems to be gifting us each week. This is the exciting time. Do they have the balls to make it to the playoffs? Who knows? But this team has played its ass off, and maybe they could use support instead of your pathetic critiques. How many of you are nfl coaches? Oh, that’s right, none.
