“Huge Loss” Of Ben Bredeson

November 12th, 2025

Usually, when a Bucs player has an in-game injury, head coach Todd Bowles will respond publicly with a next-man-up cliché and talk about how it was unfortunate but the backup was ready and capable.

Bowles didn’t go there when asked about the loss of left guard Ben Bredeson, who left Sunday’s game early in the first quarter with what initially was labeled a hamstring injury.

“It was huge loss for us there,” Bowles said on his official team radio show.

“Because Bredeson, obviously he played center early in the season, when all the guys were down then he went back to guard,” Bowles continued. “He is very smart, he communicates very well. He’s one of our big communicators up there, very tough, built low to the ground, very stout.

“So when you lose somebody like that, it kind of takes some outta you.”

On Monday Bowles said Bredeson suffered a sprain. So was it a hamstring or a sprain, or both?

Replacing Bredeson was guard Michael Jordan, who started multiple games at left guard this season when Bredeson was at center. The Bucs already head backup guard Dan Feeney in the game at right guard replacing Cody Mauch, who is out for the year.

It wasn’t Jordan’s best game, but he’s certainly ok for a No. 4 guard.

The Bucs’ first official injury report of the week comes out late this afternoon. Joe expects Bredeson to be on it and eventually ruled out for Sunday in cold and rainy Buffalo.

Wish we would’ve made some trades!

It is frustrating the amount of injuries we had.

Also, I agree with Joe (Lee), the edge rush position is a non factor in this defense and it makes me want to 🤮

    Next player.

    No excuses.

  3. Dan Says:

Just read he’s participating in today’s walkthrough

TBBF doesn’t want to whine about injuries…..but here we go….

    WHINE, WHINE, WHINE!!!

  5. Let ‘em bake Says:

Tucker explodes for 130 yards. Road game. Tighter focus. Pissed baker. I feel good…

  6. Pmike Says:

You can sprain a hamstring. Typically a sprained hamstring is described as a “strain”

  7. 813bucboi Says:

MJ was decent…every time he starts the run game is effective….#65 is trash…and it looks like Klein is even worse…

any who, blame bowles…its all his fault!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  8. Joaquim Valente Says:

Well he’s practicing today so hopefully he’s a go on Sunday.

  9. Beeej Says:

He was grabbing the back of his thigh, I take that to be a hammy

  10. Smarter than Joe Says:

Injuries and inept coaching cannot overcome good opponents

Bucs can beat Aints, Panthers, AZ, Miami (maybe) and AYL with the injuries and Todd Blows cover no one D but the good teams laugh at this scheme and love taking the W

I was at the game and saw Bredeson severely limp off the field – straight into the tent. He was in the tent for so long I stopped looking. When he finally came out, he was smiling and giving a big thumbs up to everyone in the crowd, eliciting applause. He was so upbeat I figured he was going back in. He was barely limping at that point.

  12. I Remember 21 Says:

Feeney was TERRIBLE. An actual turnstile. He got beat on every play I watched him on. Really disappointed in our oline depth this season, thought Licht would have us in better shape there. Also I’m starting to be dubious that Barton is the long term answer at C. I think he’ll round into a good player, but probably at G (or RT if Geodonkey can’t stay healthier).

  13. SlyPirate Says:

I think Barton the only starting or backup OL
that hasn’t been injured this year?

    LET’S ADMIT A FEW THINGS …
    1. Winning the NFCS this year is a major accomplishment considering injuries.
    2. Bucs aren’t winning the Super Bowl. Too many injuries. That’s not on the HC.
    3. The Bucs need all their picks and cap to add depth.

  14. Saskbucs Says:

If Brederson can’t go, watch the Bucs put Haggard at LG and Jordan at RG haha.
They seemingly can’t help themselves with the shuffling.

Weren’t we saying Haggard looked pretty good at RG before his knee? Now he’s healthy and inactive for Dan Feeney?

Hopefully he is fine for Sunday and Haggard or Klein get the RG nod. Maybe that won’t help. I imagine that a reason these guys are backups is because they lack consistency. Look good 1 week and look awful the next.

  15. BucU Says:

“” Bucs aren’t winning the Super Bowl. Too many injuries. That’s not on the HC.””

Correct. But his defense is relatively healthy and they got embarrassed by the Pat’s in our house. Home field don’t mean squat with Todd as HC.

  16. Jeff Says:

Ray Jay is a 2nd class facility. The field destroys hamstrings.

  17. Durango 95 Says:

People like to say that JL is a “savant” of sorts when it comes to drafting OL. Well, I’m not so sure. Outside LT a good GM should be able to draft OL later in the draft and develop them into good quality starters. He should at least be able to acquire OL later in the draft to become good quality backups. Has he done that? I’m not sure that he has. Heck he even brought in a FA swing tackle that can’t swing. Stuck at RT. He has a 1st round pick that was developed at Center that was used at LT and now that player seems to be a little lost somewhere in between both positions. Is it too much to ask an OL “savant” to be able to acquire good back up quality talent. Has he done that. Not so sure that he has.

  18. SBucs Says:

The Bucs seem to be a team that can’t develop defensive linemen or back up offensive linemen. That goes to the internal dynamics of the GM and coaching staff. I’m not sure with this situation it will ever change.
