“Unstoppable”

October 8th, 2025

Best yet to come?

Do not call prickly Pete Prisco a bandwagon man.

Prisco, the veteran NFL columnist at CBS, is no stranger to One Buc Palace. He’s one of a very few national NFL scribes who you can bank on showing his face at One Buc Palace doing research, talking to players, coaches and suits to get the lowdown on the Bucs.

This past summer, Prisco vowed confidently that the Bucs will be the No. 1 seed in the NFC when the smoke clears on the 2025 regular season.

And boy, did Prisco take heat from his colleagues live in-studio for his prediction.

So after watching the Bucs offense beat a very good Seahawks team 3,000 miles away on the road as Baker Mayfield torched the stingy Seattle defense, look out, Prisco said in a CBS video.

Despite being very impressive beating the Seahawks, the Bucs have not played their best ball yet, per Prisco. He even suggested the 4-1 Bucs may soon be “unstoppable” on offense.

He explains why in the CBS video below.

Prisco is not like the others, They are mostly corporate mouthpieces. Courage to speak his mind gets him some respect from this fan. Guy does his homework it appears. Thats more than I can say about almost all of the others.

    Go Bucs!

  2. Megoat13 Says:

I agree for all the negative fire Bowles and the Bucs suck comments on other jbf I feel exact opposite. This team has fought and scrapped through an injury ridden start to the season to sit at 4-1 playing at what I believe is a fraction of their potential. If and when they do start getting healthier and really start to gel this team will be practically unstoppable

  3. Gipper Says:

This is just idle chatter. Bucs, Bowles, and Baker need to focus on one game at a time. Hopefully, team will avoid mid season swoon. Schedule guys didn’t do Bucs a favor. Hard to believe any NFL team has a more challenging schedule. Need to get healthy and find a few guys who can pressure and tackle.

  4. Bama Rich Says:

    Megoat13, I agree.

I think he picked the perfect time to blitz on Sunday. Despite all the naysayers he has done a heck of a job.

Kudos for Jason to. For the first time in my 40 years as a Buc fan we have an all-important piece that I don’t recall we’ve ever had…quality depth!

    Go Bucs!

  5. BucU Says:

“”I think he picked the perfect time to blitz on Sunday. Despite all the naysayers he has done a heck of a job””

Bowles’ defense gave up FIVE straight TD drives. FIVE. That’s not a heck of a job.
That’s pitiful. Pass rush is an abomination.

  6. Baking with Grizz Says:

The Traskies are still upset. They are disappointed the pounding the defense got was not in a loss. lol

    Go Bucs!!!

  7. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The only times this season that I think Bowles did poorly was the game against the Eagles and the end of the first half against Seatle.

In both instanes he shifted his defene into Prevent. It cost us the game against the Eagles when I saw it so early against the Seahawks, I was pretty upset…but Prevent wasn’t there in the second half and we won.

Also of note, in our first three games I felt the refs made good calls against us…they missed some calls against our oponents, but our players were guilty of those penalties.

The Eagles game was full of blatant bad calls…so obvious it felt like they were doing it on purpose for the champs.

Against the Seahawks, there were a couple bad calls, but they weren’t blatant at least.

  8. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

There are many times I’ve wondered what game he’s watching. But he’s correct here.

Funny, you are the only one bringing him up.

He’s gone. Most of us have moved on. As for myself, I feel Bowles picked the right guy, but I also don’t care for being lied to… especially when there was no point to it. I believe in accountability.

Outside of that and his stupid Prevent defense, I like Bowles.

  10. Boomer Says:

Certainly understand all the above comments – you can’t expect Baker and the boys to score on every drive the rest of the season. The defense has to be able to get to the quarterback and for heavens sake, can someone teach tackling to special teams?

  11. MikeBuc Says:

“He’s gone. Most of us have moved on. As for myself, I feel Bowles picked the right guy, but I also don’t care for being lied to…”

Translation: The Traskies are still upset.

  12. Defense Rules Says:

Wow, we’re only 5 games into the 2025 season and some are already anointing us as ‘Unstoppable’. We’ve got a lot of work still to do before & a lot of games to win before we get anointed for anything.

The great news is that our offense has come alive, and we’re still doing it with a makeshift OLine & missing several of our most potent weapons. Thankfully we matched up well against the Seahawks’ defense, missing half their starting Secondary kinda like we were, and Baker took full advantage. Awesome to watch.

I’m confident that Todd Bowles has already got this team moved on & focusing on the upcoming San Fran game this weekend. Also confident that he’s not at all happy with our defense’s performance in the 2nd half against the Seahawks, nor is he happy with our Special Teams surrendering 196 yards on 7 kickoff returns, and that after a 10-yd Seattle penalty. This team’s goal is the Super Bowl, and one-game-at-a-time is the only way to get there. Let’s all start hoping & praying that we get many of our starters back relatively soon because we’ve got a long season ahead of us.

  13. KiddG_87 Says:

Baker Mayfield and this Bucs team has brought college level excitement to the NFL! Can we petition to make the white creamsicles our official away uniforms?

  14. Lightningvinny1 Says:

One game at a time ,,, 49ers at home ,,, I’m sure all the pundits will pick SF like they picked Seattle last week,,,But it would be nice to play a good game at home!
Maybe Bowels should make the team sleep in a hotel Sat night

  15. HC Grover Says:

All white uniforms work for Bake.

  16. JimBobBuc Says:

Yep, wear the white unis this week. Bake can pick out his receivers better when they’re wearing white. White is cooler at RayJay, and the Niners will have to wear dark uniforms.

  17. 813BUCBOI Says:

I think he picked the perfect time to blitz on Sunday. Despite all the naysayers he has done a heck of a job.
    ************************************************************

    BINGO!!!!!!

he broke tendency!!!!!…he wasnt predicable….he wasnt blitz happy bowles which im sure surprised SEA…

folks complaining about 5 straight TD drives need to look up at the score board!!!!

    4-1!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  18. Paratrooper Buc Says:

    Defense Rules,

I agree. Bucs got a LOT of work and have to go one game at a time. Don’t get cocky and have regression. I’m sure Baker and for that matter, any other QB wants a Super Bowl ring over a dozen MVP awards. I would add that we need to pray and hope there are also no more major injuries. We need growth and improvement on all three phases to be ā€œunstoppable.ā€

  19. ocala Says:

A healthy Bucs roster is the best roster in the NFL with an elite QB leading it. Bucs are in the middle of the toughest stretch of games any NFL team has this year. Get healthy and get that first round bye and number one seed in the NFC.

  20. Kenton Smith Says:

Don’t want us peaking too early. The offense won’t be alot better than they were last week. But we needed them to have that game because they hadn’t scored much the first four games and we needed to see our potential on that side of the ball. I knew when our OLine healed up some that we had a crazy high upside. Now the grind begins and DR nailed it. One at a time for the next 4 months and we’ll be OK.

  21. orlbucfan Says:

Since when have the Bucs ever played a cupcake schedule???? Give me a break! I’ve been a loyal fan for 46 years. It’s one game at a time, krewe. Good post as always, DR. I don’t think about the SB. Bucs have 11 games left. That’s a long stretch, y’know? Anything is possible. And for the ref defenders, snort! Bucs have always had to contend with them!! I’m sure certain other teams do, too. It’s called mean green and gambling. Go Bucs, 5-1!!

  22. ballwasher61 Says:

Let’s not forget that the Seahawks offense is pretty good too. There was some luck involved, like that tipped pass at the goal line ending up in Kupps hands for a first down, smith-njigba holding onto a pass despite AW trying to get it out, that was just a good play. There were again some head scratching calls and a lot of no calls, the Bucs were getting held all over the place by the Seattle o-line. But they pulled it out.

  23. Mobucs Says:

I am impressed by Bowles and Grizzard as play callers and planners. In all five of the games this year, the team came into the final minutes with a whole series of plays that were open to comprise long drives. This is contrasted to running out of plays somewhere in the third quarter. With apologies to Coen, the fourth quarter against the Commanders was like little boy lost, at a time when Evans had forced double coverage and Baker was zipping the ball. Instead of going right at them, we started fishing for untried backfield ballhandling, with unhappy results. This season, it’s the opposition who are on their heels in the last minutes.
    Go Bucs!

  24. KABucs Says:

Buccaneer Bonzai, did you watch every game?

The Jets game they took away a catch from EE, gave a touchdown catch to the Jets that hit the ground and called holding for every little teeny thing you can possibly call holding for, but just against our team. Texan’s game was also a referee travesty. I’m glad to see them hold their flags a bit in the Seattle game. There were a bunch of “no calls” on the other teams and we get called for every ticky tacky thing you can think of through the first four games.

  25. Saskbucs Says:

I don’t think the pundits will be on SF, not all of them anyway.

Had the Bucs lost in Seattle, then yes, everyone would be on SF and the line would be Tampa +1.5 or something. As it stands I believe the Bucs are -2.5.
