Tristan Wirfs Appreciation Post

October 8th, 2025

Bucs LT Tristan Wirfs was all smiles both before and after the win over Seattle.

Man, there were a lot of good plays on Sunday when the Bucs went into the Seahawks’ nest and pulled out a 38-35 win.

And let’s be honest, the Bucs didn’t play well. The offense sure did. The defense sure didn’t. And that kick team coverage, woof!

That, friends, is the mark of a good team. It beats a good team on the road in a very tough place to play on the other side of the country with only one aspect of the team playing well.

There were so manyod goplays to pick from. The late blitz by Antoine Winfield caused Sam Darnold to throw a rotten pass which (after it deflected off Logan Hall’s noggin) fell into the hands of Lavonte David.

And there were the throws from Baker Mayfield to Emeka Egbuka. Wow! (Man, do those two already have a chemistry developed or what?)

But for Joe, the play that sticks out came from an offensive lineman. Who else, but All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs?

It was Rachaad White’s second touchdown. Wirfs took out his guy at the point of attack on the line. Then Wirfs takes out a Seahawks defender on the second level. Then Wirfs tosses a Seahawks defender on the third level as White crosses the goal line.

One guy, Wirfs, took out 27 percent of the Seahawks’ defense on that play. Joe thought it was hilarious.

And if you listen to former NFL offensive lineman Brian Baldinger, who currently works for NFL Network, Wirfs is all the way back from his knee surgery.

Brooks, LVD, Evans, Sapp… When all is said and done, Wirfs just might be the greatest Buccaneer draft pick ever

  2. Stpetematt Says:

That whole video was utterly fantastic! He just DOMINATES.

  3. Stu Padaso Says:

    Love the Baldy breakdowns.
Tristan Wirfs plays at a different level .
How the heck can a guy that big move that fast?
    Kid is amazing.

  4. DoooshLaRue Says:

I remember the days when Durable Donnie used to do the same thing.
He was always looking to take on that next defender and play as hard as possible for his team.
Way to carry on the tradition Tristan.

Oh wait, that never once happened!
    🤣🤣🤣

Wirfs is so freaking good and plays hard EVERY play.

  5. adam from ny Says:

    what a great clip…

the wirf-meister is back and more powerful than ever…!

look at the clip again, when he’s lined up next to otton…

otton looks tiny…yet otten is a big dude…

how amazing is it that’s he’s basically a buccaneer for life!

  6. TB_MikeB Says:

Life is good with a franchise quarterback and an all world Left Tackle, man. Golden age of being a Bucs fan

  7. GoneGator Says:

Whole offensive line came to play against Seattle. They were excellent as a unit!

Wirfs is a beast! Nice video by Baldy.

  8. kgh4life Says:

A guy at Tristan’s size shouldn’t move the way he does, it’s unreal.

  9. MadMax Says:

    Love it!

  10. Leopold Stotch Says:

Oh man I was waiting for this one, Joe. Thanks for sharing. Love to see it!

  11. Aqualung Says:

Tristan is HOF, although it’s surprising that the genius didn’t have him at right guard or filling in for the long snapper.

And why can’t people just relax and accept a fact. This defense will suck and will only get worse as long as Tdod has three jobs. Or even after that.

  12. Fred McNeil Says:

Wirfs was a monster, but the whole unit played well.

  13. Daryl Green Says:

Yo Wirf forget about absolutely amazing.
The back ups on the right side those are
big boys and they are starting to get there footing
Mike get that hamy right before Detroit. I will say this
let’s not worry about the offense. Let’s not get out coached when
Sam is running bootleg after bootleg with not setting the edge.

We will get out coached against the rams..
We are not discipline enough to deal Josh A.
    Everyone else hold your water.

  14. Senor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

Thank you Jason Licht, not just for Wirfs, but for Mr Heck also, who is finding his comfort zone (I do not recall hearing his name Sunday, for an O-lineman, that is a good thing).

And I would be remiss if I did not also say TY for Bredeson and Barton. You built a “Heck” of an O-line.

  15. Darengibo Says:

Wirfs makes watching OL blocking fun in same way Rodman made watching rebounding fun!

  16. DailyRich Says:

I kinda think even if that ball doesn’t bounce of Logan’s helmet, we still get the pick. Reddick and David were both in position.

  17. Beeej Says:

Haggard has moved up to a 55 PFF! Charlie HECK…..meh

  18. Billy Bucco Says:

Wirfs is amazing and the unit did play well in pass protection, but we have to run the ball better. 24 carries for 56 yds is atrocious.

Getting Goedeke back is crucial down the stretch.
Show me some Chukwuma at RG.

Where the heck is Devin Culp?
We have an embarrassment of riches so much so guys can’t even play here.

  19. mj Says:

    wirfs makes cade look small

  20. Chef Baker Says:

Tristan is beast! Glad to have him on the team. Go Bucs

  21. orlbucfan Says:

TW78 is All-World Champ. No doubt about it. Give CG14 a little more time, gang. He’s getting back to his Ungodly level, too. San Fran who? Go Bucs!! 5-1!! But watch out for the refs. They are not your friends.

  22. BakerFan Says:

I can listen to his Bucs Analysis all day long. The league still has not seen our best yet.

  23. Rob in Land O' Lakes Says:

    Harry,

Heck got beat on the one sack pretty bad, but other than that, I agree. Solid game, especially run blocking.

  24. Capt.Tim Says:

So Great to have Wirfs back.
The guy is an absolute dominator!
And Luke Haggard is starting to play really well on the right side, also!

  25. BuccinBaker6, Says:

Love Tristan he does open the whole playbook it why this offense looked so much different in Wirfs second game back an honestly Haggard an Heck held up well in this game this offense will only be getting better an better they have Luke coming back Mike Bucky an JMac just think about that this team is going to be a problem

  26. a-bomb Says:

I could watch the video of Wirfs blocking three guys in one play all day! But it was also great to see the pass-offs and the way the line was working together as a unit. While Wirfs’ ability helps set the ceiling of what this line can be, it is the ability to work as a unit which sets the floor.
