Falcons Fall To 3-3, Third Place In NFC South

October 19th, 2025

Falcons owner Artie Blank.

What a quality Sunday night it was.

Joe thoroughly enjoyed watching the overrated Falcons (3-3) fall at San Francisco (5-2), the banged up team the Bucs thumped by 11 points last weekend in Tampa.

Atlanta struggled to run the ball, which is the strength of their team. That put the game on the back of Falcons quarterback Michael Penix and Atlanta scored just 10 points, half the 49ers’ total.

A week ago, the Bucs contained 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey all game. Tonight, McCaffrey had 199 yards from scrimmage with two touchdowns.

With a 5-1 record entering tomorrow night’s game, the Bucs can put a lot of distance between themselves and Atlanta in the NFC South with a “W” at Detroit. As Joe wrote earlier, the Panthers are 4-3 after beating the Jets this afternoon.

Carolina beat the Falcons 30-0 earlier this season. Carolina hosts the Bills next week while Atlanta hosts the sorry Dolphins.

Penix is trash and inaccurate reminds me of tua

  2. FortMyersDave Says:

How about those Falcons! Loved how they squandered a chance right before halftime for points when Penix got an intentional grounding and a ten second clock run off. ATL O-line looked like a sieve. I wonder how many of the pundits who have been hyping the ATL all week since they upset the Bills still think they are a contender. They look like an 8 win team, third place to me. Rah being Rah and the Falocns Falconed yet again, losing a winnable game.

  3. Durango 95 Says:

If in 24 hours from now the Bucs are 6-1 I know I would never have expected that at the start of the season. Go Bucs.

  4. Aqualung Says:

Bills need to pull their head out of the bottom of The Falls and play like the damn Bills. Beat the snot out of those Panthies.

  5. Aqualung Says:

    Tomorrow is tomorrow.

Bucs need to pound the Saints. Next Sunday.

  6. Rob in Land O' Lakes Says:

I hate to take pleasure in another team’s fans pain…….

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  7. Brian Says:

McCaffrey wore them out! Good game!

  8. Saskbucs Says:

Certainly nice to see the Falcons go down. Make a W tomorrow night that much sweeter!

Panthers are gonna give the Bills a fight. (It’s in Carolina right ? Otherwise maybe not) then they will give the Bucs a fight at the end of the year, I said it months ago, way Dave had the Panthers competing end of last year, couple good draft picks, they will be a bigger threat than ATL and no guarantee for 2 wins. Falcons way better on paper but here we are.

Falcons will mop the Dolphins next week.

    6-2 Bucs
    4-4 Panthers
    4-3 Falcons

Heading into our bye week. Really hope it’s 7-1 for our Bucs but I’ll keep it conservative for now.

  9. Winny Testaverde Says:

I almost enjoy an Atlanta “L” as much as I enjoy a Bucs “W”. Almost…

They find themselves with their proverbial teet in a ringer. Do the go back to Kissin’ Cousins? Penix looks a bit scared out there and already has a lot of miles on him for a 2nd year player.

We are all familiar with Raheem The Dream’s dumbfounded look. He’s no doubt a serviceable position coach or even coordinator opposite an elite offensive mind. But he too is in over his head.

  10. firethecannons Says:

Agreed, it was good watching Falcons lose! loved it.

  11. FortMyersDave Says:

I was just over on the Falcoholic and just about every poster wants Zac Robinson fired yesterday and some want Rah held accountable for hiring ZR in the first place.

  12. Kgh4life Says:

Bowles has his faults, but it goes to show you that he can come up with some impressive schemes to contain RBs.

  13. MadMax Says:

I got off work a few hours early tonight and was able to watch it. Looks like Penix might be playing with and injured finger or two from the end of that game….and yeah, their O line is trash.

Im taking a half day vacation for this detroit game….cant wait. Hopefully we go 6-1, then 7-1 after the aints heading into the bye.

Its happening fellas, im feeling it! 🙂

  14. Bosch Says:

Niners beat the falcons, the same way Bucs beat them. They kept beating on their QB until he was rendered ineffective by the fourth quarter. And it was a wise decision to put the offense on Christian’s shoulders and not Mack’s.

  15. garro Says:

How ya like me now Artie? All that media hype you promoted? LOL Yeah buddy!

    Go Bucs!

  16. Ex Browns Fan Says:

    Beware the Panthers
Looks like they are finally getting it together

  17. Gbobucsfan Says:

Bryce Young went out late in that game yesterday with an ankle injury. Dalton finished. Something to keep an eye on.

  18. Marky mark Says:

Boo hoo. Cry me a river. Michael penus jr. For the Deshaun Watson bust award.

  19. Oxycondomns Says:

only 1 game out of loss column if the favorite lions win tonight. falcons would have a better record starting cousins thankfully raheem the dream is coaching

  20. David Says:

    Love it!

  21. BakerFan Says:

I hope Arthur Blank sure does enjoy paying Cousins so much riding the bench and then watch his replacement come out and throw some of the most gawd awful passes. Lose, Lose and some more losing is what I wish on him.

  22. mj Says:

is it just me but it’s so weird watching a lefty qb he had to be even more perfect at that position steve young he is not, the falcons are ultra inconsistent one well they look like contenders then poop gotta be that excellent coach they have there!! lol

bucs 30-20 tonight!! keep baker healthy and we should crank!!

  23. orlbucfan Says:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: these teams and divisions go through up and down cycles. Plus, I don’t care if one of our division foes looks like the godawful Jets. When the Bucs, Atlanta, Panthers, and Aints play each other, they are dawg fights. I bet it happens in the other divisions, too. These football players are the best of the best and competitive. So, you bet they form rivalries. Anywho, I just hope the Bucs somehow win tonight. 6-1, Bucs!!!!!!!!! (And beware of the refs.)

  24. 813bucboi Says:

who was the clown that said ATL has “FIXED” their defense in 1 offseason!!!!!!

falcons are who we thought they were!!!!!

    6-1!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

  25. FeddyBucsFan Says:

The hard part of the Panthers schedule is now coming up. I don’t think they can keep it up. Bills, Packers, Rams, Seahawks and Buc’s twice.

  26. BPBucsfan Says:

Had to laugh at the comment the broadcast team made last night, they said Saleh took a pound of clay and molded a defense out of it. Was hopefully the 9ers would pull it out. Keep some breathing room in the division.

  27. adam from ny Says:

    i’m at 6-2 into the bye…

    L tonight
    W next week

and i’m ok with that…and y’all should be too 😉
