Defensive Domination
October 26th, 2025
Here’s a list that will make you drool:
5 sacks
2 interceptions
2 forced fumbles
5 tackles for loss
5 quarterback hits
2 turnovers on downs
The Bucs racked up all of those today against the slimy Saints in a 23-3 win.
Man, this game was a real throwback to 1999 with the Bucs mustering just 212 yards of offense yet winning easily.
Yeah, the Saints are weak on offense but not this bad. The Bucs neutered them in a hurry.
New Orleans had 11 drives. They couldn’t run and their passing game was quashed over and over again by big plays. The Bucs’ talent was too much and Todd Bowles had his men swarming and attacking from the opening bell.
The Bucs defense had played good halves this season, but this was the first wire-to-wire domination. It bodes well for the second half of the season.

Can’t believe Winfield was robbed of a scoop and score. Should have been worse. But great job defense, covered up for our offense being banged up.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:10 pm
Great Job Coach!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:10 pm
2 defensive TD’s robbed from us too
October 26th, 2025 at 7:11 pm
Couldn’t really see who got the sack at the end, but way to finish the game.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:13 pm
man maye, allen, and stafford up next lets hope the defense continues this play

Too bad the Defense can’t choke out opponents at the end of a game. In fact the defense is an accelerant for opposing offenses in the last two minutes. Todd needs a fluke for the defense to be credited with a crucial play.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:13 pm
Bowles Buddha Boiler ™️ makes him an immovable object now! Bigger than VV’s last year. Happy for coach…he called a great game and didn’t let the Lions game linger.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:14 pm
Outstanding win!
The division all took L’s today, so even better!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:15 pm
should have been two defensive TDs
October 26th, 2025 at 7:16 pm
Wenflied is owed a few apologies.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:16 pm
6 -2 is great and way for the defense to step up and carry the offense. Shame about the refs blowing another call, but almost to be expected.
Disappointed in the offense, but I’m point most of the blame on the o-line. I’d make them walk home! Took 7 tries to score from the one?!? Wirfs with 2 false starts? Barton had another poor game.
Hopefully the Bucs come back from the bye ready to play football.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:17 pm
Where’s AquaThong?
Let’s Go!!!!!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:18 pm
It’s good to see the defense dominate a team that they should dominate.
The offensive line, in particular, looked tired.
Hopefully, the bye week heals the offense but the defense can stay hungry.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:19 pm
@ 74 Bucs fan,
Agree bro, also to coach Bowles, probably 90% of the fan base and the so called Experts!!!!!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:20 pm
What a bunch of clowns calling for Grizz to be gone. He was clearly pissed at the o-line and should have been being stuffed 5 straight times, more until Tucker got in. I said before the game about the Saints being a talked about bad run team vs us not taking advantage and that played out, although I will say we could have run out of different formations and that I do take issue with. And everyone calling for Bowles head as an DC??????? Anybody? Get a grip. Are we healthy with a win going into the bye week? Isn’t that what I saw 80% of people writing about this week, just win? We have some work to do but lets let time heal the wounded, regroup and come out swinging.

Amazing what happens when you’re aggressive and don’t just sit back in that trash super soft zone defense.
Anyone talking about players suddenly appearing, they have no idea what they’re watching. This is all about scheme. When Bowles is aggressive, the defense looks great.
And no, “blitzing” 5 when your base defense is a 5-2, is not aggressive. It’s about how you send pressure, and what you’re doing in the defensive backfield. If you’re aggressive in coverage – which can be done in zone by the way, see the Tampa 2 – we see the results over and over. When you have guys stand around flat footed waiting for something to happen, that’s when you make every other QB look like a future HOF’er.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:22 pm
Let’s see how the trolls play this tomorrow. They sure can’t whine about the “putrid defense” or “Fire Bowles”.
Without the “phantom whistle” it would have been 30-3.
The rest of the division lost today. Stinking Panthers and Dixie Chick’s got blown out.
Go Bucs! 6-2!!!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:22 pm
Let’s get Bucky,Chris and Luke back and we’ll be cooking on both sides. 6 and 2 with the outrageous amount of injuries is glorious. Go Bucs!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:22 pm
Great job by Nelsen and Winfield. In one game Nelsen had more big plays than
JTS in a season and quite possibly his entire time here.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:22 pm
They dominated because the Saints Offense was so bad!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:24 pm
If you’ve ever thought Winfield went away, you just don’t know what you’re watching and clearly have no idea what he was being asked to do. It’s hard to be productive when the scheme calls for you to stand by 30 yards down the field and be the last line of defense, and that’s how Bowles has been using Winfield lately. Today, Bowles was being more aggressive with him, moving him around more, and like always when that happens, we see the results.
It’s great news going forward that Bowles, this year, has played less of his super soft zone trash, but it’s also infuriating since anyone with an IQ over 12 has known for years this super soft zone scheme that Bowles put in after he got the HC job has been killing the defense.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:25 pm
It would be nice to see the Offense, defense and ST to play complementary games. Nice win though and the rest of the division lost!!

If it was a one week thing, sure you could say that.
But the defense dominated the Lions last week as well.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:28 pm
“Did Baker get a perm?“ his 5 O’clock shadow did look more curly.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:28 pm
Bucs won this one but the O was a weak part. Anthony Nelson did his usual, competent play. He deserves DPOTW. Still. 6-2 and the Bye. Whew!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:30 pm
The defense has been the best unit on the team this year.
New defensive coaches and players have been playing a lot better than last year.
The defense will only get better in the 2nd half of this season.
Go Bucs !
October 26th, 2025 at 7:31 pm
I noticed that Johnson was pulled for Klein at LG. Was Johnson hurt or just underperforming? Either way, things seem to pick up and I was wondering why he wasn’t in the game from the start. Klein>Johnson imo.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:34 pm
How about Tristan getting his ass kicked again
October 26th, 2025 at 7:37 pm
first time saints held to under 13 pts this season, bucs defense did their job well today.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:43 pm
Agua, you are such a coward. I would expect nothing less from a whiner like you
October 26th, 2025 at 7:43 pm
Yesterday I accused Aqualung of being an emotional adolescent, and his lack of appearance here after a dominant divisional win is more evidence of that.
He doesn’t love the Bucs, he merely hates the HC.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:43 pm
This offense better figure ut tf out. Ill tell you what its not…. this game plan
October 26th, 2025 at 7:44 pm
Did the bucs offense just think they’d run over the saints. Maybe a little hurry up with bootlegs screens. Idk call me crazy.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:47 pm
Aqua is too busy eating crow
He’ll return after midnight
GO BUCS
October 26th, 2025 at 7:47 pm
I’m not sure what’s worse- the zebras hosing us again and again, or the Marcus Arroyo impersonation in back to back weeks from Grizz? Either way, Coach, take a bow b/c your D has played very well since the poor showing in the 2nd half of the Seattle game!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:49 pm
CANT WAIT T I GET JALEN MCMILLIAN BACK AGAIN TO !! GIZ NEEDS SOME BETTER PLAY SCHEMES RUNNING UP THE MIDDLE GETTING REALLY OLD !
October 26th, 2025 at 7:49 pm
Def need an official investigation into NFL referees. There are too many ‘odd’ calls costing points. With the increase in betting, refs are the ones who can change all that…and, they are doing just that. Who knows who else is involved… The NBA is just the tip of the iceberg.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:51 pm
“Off with his head!” “Fire Bowles!”
Seriously, when we play a less than perfect game and still win, we probably should give our HC/DC some credit.
Go Bucs!!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:52 pm
Hey gizz ,DO YOU KNOW WHAT A ROLL OUT IS ? OR HOW ABOUT A SCREEN PASS , HOW ABOUT A QUICK SLANT ? QUICK THROW TO THE FLAT ? Get it together!
October 26th, 2025 at 7:54 pm
“Anyone talking about players suddenly appearing, they have no idea what they’re watching. This is all about scheme. When Bowles is aggressive, the defense looks great.“
Word macaroni salad, the players played out of their minds today on defense.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:59 pm
Anthony Nelson has made the most of his limited time on the field. He sure won DPOTW. He’s very good. Glad we made it to the Bye 6-2. Bucs earned it.
October 26th, 2025 at 7:59 pm
“5 sacks
2 interceptions
2 forced fumbles
5 tackles for loss
5 quarterback hits
2 turnovers on downs“
You forgot the 7 points they put on the board that once enough time goes by and the offense looks better than they have, will get credit for in their ppg avg
October 26th, 2025 at 8:30 pm
JOE we need an explanation of why Winfields TD was called dead. There wasn’t a whistle. Every week we are getting hosed by the refs. Some kind of investigation needs to be done. Literally every week. It’s making the game not so fun to watch anymore
October 26th, 2025 at 8:51 pm
Happy to be wrong but somehow these are t coming through the filters . Outstanding defense, best since a long long time. Kudos and props to Todd and the players.
October 26th, 2025 at 8:53 pm
Its great but …grain of salt here, folks. Rattler looks lost out there. Average NFL QBs find chunks yardage against our blitz schemes over the course of a game on a consistent basis.
October 26th, 2025 at 8:54 pm
This game reminded me of the 1999 Bucs. If only they can play like this the rest of the season then we definitely have a good shot at a Super Bowl if the offense can retain their footing.
October 26th, 2025 at 9:03 pm
Aqua
I guess we have an HC now!!!!!!!!!!
Or does Todd have to become the OC in order for you to pipe down!!!!!!
6-2
GO BUCS
