Crazy Baker Mayfield Stat
October 20th, 2025
“I won’t let you down, ‘Bake.'”
Joe doesn’t know who to give the credit for this.
Should it be Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield who, at the end of the day, is the guy delivering passes?
Is it the receivers who shouldn’t be on the field stepping up and catching those passes?
Is it Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard for finding ways to get these guys open?
Is it Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht for finding backups to get the job done?
Either way, the following is impressive. Check out these numbers on Mayfield dug up by Rich Hribar of Sharp Football Analysis:
Mayfield threw for 11.1 yards per pass attempt last week while completing 73.9% of his passes, with his top pass catchers being Johnson, Sterling Shepard, Cade Otton, and Tez Johnson.
A 74 percent completion rate throwing to your Nos. 5-7 receivers is just insane to Joe. A 74 percent completion rate throwing to your starting receivers is a solid number. But to the bottom-of-the-roster guys?
Mayfield is doing all of this without throwing a pick. That’s kind of hard to do. Bottom-of-the-roster receivers, guys like Tez Johnson and Kameron Johnson who have little to no experience, Joe would think they’d make mistakes, run a wrong or bad route leading to an easy pick.
It hasn’t happened, which is extraordinary.
Again, Joe doesn’t know who to give the credit. Maybe everyone had a hand in the success?

Baker had a couple potential interceptions dropped by the defenses early on the season, but I think his single interception was tipped. He’s had very few interception-worthy plays against the last few high quality teams. He’s on a tear, and I think he’s just getting better by the week.

Ummm, give credit to the team, coaching staff organization, Tampa bay fans. You know, teamwork, it’s a collective. The head coach is ultimately responsible for the team playing together as a team. Credit Bowles!

Bakers has been killing it the chemistry between him and the entire offense is un real watching this seasons ups and downs both offense and defense the picks/6 forced fumbles sacks incredible catches by rookies and vets how are offensive line not one time being complete with our usual Lineman and still finding a way what a time to be a fan

Here is a crazy stat. Through three quarters Sean Payton’s Broncos were shut out (Aw, shucks, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy). Then they score 33 in the fourth and win by 1 with a walk off field goal. Yes, it was against the Giants but still, You just can’t make this stuff up.

Kudos to all. I gotta give most of the credit to coaches and players. We all know Baker can play. They got these dudes ready to play!
Go Bucs!

Big props to Grizzard. We were told how he schemed the 3rd down offense last year. Looks like he is a quick study and a deep thinker.
And props to the receiving corps. In the offseason I Pooh-poohed the notion that the Bucs had superior wr depth. 1-4, sure, but after that I thought we would find just some JAGs. But the season has showed that the bottom half of the roster is capable, something very few teams have. Particularly impressed with Tez as I expected his size would get him run over.
Last some love for Baker. Not many qbs seem to develop any chemistry with the bottom tier WRs. He clearly has, and it’s great to see.

Baker gets all the credit all the time. He deserves it after the Browns screed him. Having b said v that i may actually make the Browns my second team after seeing up standing citizen and, lefty Dylan play so well. I don’t like big mouth Sanders baby.

i think baker is just so perceptive, he makes everyone look brilliant. the right read goes a long way to making the target look good. much easier catches, nobody surprised when ball arrives like you see with some young targets. Gotta hand it to Griz too, can’t make the right read as often in an unreliable offense. I mean, he even read Tez’s mind on the TD last week hehe.

Baker, Baker, the Head Coach Maker.

Baker is very accustomed to throwing to no-name players. From 2018-2021 his receivers were Jarvis Landry, Antonio Calloway, Rashard Higgins, Breshad Perriman, Damian Ratley and Donovan Peoples Jones with OBJ for 16 games in 2019 and 6 and 7 games respectively in 2020 and 2021. I think it is documented that his passer rating was better without Beckham in the lineup than with him.

I expect the offense to explode tonight. I also expect the defense to get torched.
Hence close game.

Oscar hits it on the head. His time in Cleveland throwing to one slightly better than average Landry, a bunch of average Joe’s at best, and the overrated and destructive obj.

Maintenance this near “out of body experience’ by Baker is extremely difficult to continue. Getting key players back soon is the winning formula but keeping most of them on field is the question.
The 4th to 7th round receivers have gain invaluable experience and confidence. The bye week is only 2 weeks away for the Bucs and the must needed rest going into the second half of the season.
This is the time of the year that separates the Men from the Boys.
It’s looking promising.

Bake is something else. He sure did deserve the Heisman trophy. It looks like he’s finally found a home here on the west coast of FL. Man, does he have fans everywhere. I have heard so many fans of other teams absolutely rave about him. Kudos to both Bowles and Licht for bringing him here. Now, hopefully he won’t get killed tonight. Aiden you-know-who still gives me pause. Go Bucs and Bake!!!

There’s one dude who we know didn’t have anything to do with it.
October 20th, 2025 at 10:53 am
I guess there goes the “theory” that Baker is only doing good because he has the best receivers to throw to huh?

Aqualung
Who? Your Momma?

I think several backups are going to be offered larger roles on other teams in the future. We’ll have to put draft picks somewhere next year, so that means getting rid of some solid backups. Maybe even potential starters.
It’s a good situation to be in. Trade value will develop.

Dude. Some lines shouldn’t be crossed. His mother was killed in Gaza.
