Betting The Bucs (Week 7 Edition)
October 20th, 2025
Through six weeks in this space, Joe is up $134.00 after another winning week. What a public service Joe has provided!
Disclaimer: Do NOT wager if losing will ruin your life, or day, or week.
Betting The Bucs shows you Joe’s pregame bets tied to the Buccaneers. Joe would say it’s all fun, but this is business. (In-game wagers are best for processing the best information, but Joe cannot take that on here in real-time.)
Florida sports betting is blessed by the government through Hard Rock Bet, the source of the wagering lines shown here.
For tonight’s Bucs game in Detroit, Joe has a few selections:
*Break out the steak knives. The Bucs’ pass defense has issues getting carved up allowing a lot of yardage. Lions QB Jared Goff leads the NFL with a 75.9 percent completion rate. A dissection is coming. Hopefully, it only leads to field goals.

*Antoine Winfield Jr. was around the ball more last week with a season high 9 combined tackles. The showed Joe that the Bucs used Winfield slightly differently. Joe thinks that continues tonight, combined with lots of work for the Bucs secondary (see Goff wager above.)

*Bucs wide receiver Sterling Shepard has caught 4 balls in half of the Bucs’ games this year. He seems primed for a good number of targets tonight, and to get open against an inexperienced Lions defensive backs group. Joe also thinks a wide receiver screen or two is coming Shepard’s way. Joe likes the +130 here.

Good luck!

I know enough about football to probably make a few bucks, but the only way I can guarantee a BUCS loss is to bet on them. Gambling is ruining football.

Joe, the last one will prob lose if Evans and Egbuka play tonight. Good thing only 10 bucks.

I’m normally quick to always take the over on anyone going against Bowles, but I’m not so sure this week. I think both teams are going to be worried about their defenses, and both offenses are going to try to commit to the run (at least early) to control the clock, and both teams might waste a bunch of series. Then again if Bowles keeps doing what he’s been doing, he’s going to let the Lions pass at will for the first 3 quarters before deciding to play some defense in the 4th – because the Lions will never see it coming (unless they watched the tape of the previous games, then they will see it coming). Still, it only takes two quarters of Bowles patented super soft zone to make any opposing QB look like an ALL-PRO… so yeah, I’ll take the over on the passing yards, although I will note I was a lot more certain about taking the opposing QB over yards last week, where I was 100% certain, this week its more like 60%.
For Winfield, that’s a solid bet.
For Shepard, I’d just not bet on that either way. While Baker does love to force the ball to Shepard, this might be a game where he’s not all that involved … then again, if Evans and e2 aren’t actually healthy and they’re more or less decoys or not playing full speed, then Shepard might be the #1 WR. To me, I’d just avoid that one together.

Ebuka and Evans playing. Let’s get this boys. Let’s go 6-1

Based on the lines, Vegas sees a 30-23 Lions win or somewhere around those numbers.
Right now I am trying to avoid game results.
Goff 200+
St.Brown 70+ and 7+ rec
Is what I am playing in a parlay.
Evans 50+
Laporta 3+ rec
Evans TD or Bucs +10.5 … makes for a parlay with nice odds as well.
Really just wanna hammer Bucs +8 and Bucs ML but like

Fred said, that’s usually a fast track to Bucs losing by 10. Nothing worse than the double whammy of Bucs losing and also losing money. Ruins like 3 days for me.

anything laporta related seems like a good bet

How does Shepard turn 7 receptions into 25 yards? Wow.
