“They’ll Be Ready”
September 1st, 2025
Rookie chatter.
Joe is very confident two rookies will get plenty of snaps Sunday when the season kicks off in Atlanta at 1 p.m.
They are receiver Emeka Egbuka, with his first appearance wearing his new number, and slot corner Jacob Parrish.
Will the rookies be ready for the big show? Absolutely, Bucs coach Todd Bowles said this afternoon.
“I mean, they’ll be ready. They’re mentally ready, they’re physically ready, and everything they see during the season is nothing that they hadn’t seen in training camp.
“They’re just playing it under the lights and playing it for real.”
Lot of confidence there from Bowles. Of course, Egbuka and Parrish have shown enough for Bowles and Bucs fans alike to feel confident about their play. As for second-round draft pick cornerback Benjamin Morrison, he didn’t practice today as Bowles confirmed he’s still hobbled by a hamstring injury he suffered four weeks ago.
Bowles didn’t rule him out for Sunday. Yet.
“Still up for grabs right now,” Bowles said. “There’s a possibility he could come back” for Sunday.
Bowles added Morrison’s potential availability will be more clear when the Bucs next practice on Wednesday.

This Game 1 is so BIG. ATL going 2-0 last year is in everyone’s mind. Going 3-0 would give them a big psychological advantage. The Bucs starting the year 1-0 gets the monkey off their backs and they take a legit lead in the conference.
LFG!

We don’t even know which Bucs are playing
Too many injuries and question marks
I’m not buying it, l gotta see it

Just STAHP commenting if it’s just about question marks and “gotta see it”s. Obviously that’s the case. You’re literally bringing nothing to the conversation if you say they haven’t proven anything. What do you expect them to have done before the season starts?! Seriously.

Our D is healthy & our O has depth enough to handle the two receivers out & hopefully Wirfs……..Otton is needed…..

Lol,
I’m bringing “Reality” to the conversation
How can you say ” we’ll be ready” , when you have no idea of “we” are. Exactly who are we? With all of the injuries, there’s no guarantee, who wile ready, or who will play.
Smh

There’s a possibility he still could play, really Todd? Morrison hasn’t even practiced in 4 weeks, what the hell are you talking about? If you’re trying to fool, or scare the Falcons that he might play you’re not. You’re only fooling yourself. How is a rookie with no training camp, who shut his last college season down early to have hip surgery going to be ready? Just stop it.

I guess when say ” they’ll be ready, l assume he means the players that’s actually playing. He don’t know who will be available to play. So he gotta say they. But I’m not buying it, I’m not one of the blind sheep. Too many key players already have been ruled out. And there’s no definite answer about some others.
My question is exactly who will be ready
Don’t say we, name some specific players

Does anyone worry about this offense scoring points? The big question mark, is the defense improved enough to force a few punts and maybe a turnover or two?
This is really a benchmark game for this defense. Is it the same old stuff from last season or have they progressed
September 1st, 2025 at 6:26 pm
I do. We SHOULD have an excellent offense and should score points but we haven’t SEEN it this year, yet. It’s a new season. We ain’t done nothing yet and we haven’t even had a peek @ our starting Offense OR defense.
Really hoping to see good execution by both squads, offense and defense. If everyone just does their jobs we’ll be fine. 👍🏼

Yep. Parrish will be ready to execute the art of watching a completed 7 yard pass turn into 12 yards all game long. That’s his coach’s genius scheme to fool the opponent. Like Washington in the playoffs, or really any of the 26 losses we’ve watched over the past three seasons, and many of the wins as well. Sad.

Our points are still coming by the offense.
Let’s not forget special team. I will not be surprised by a return TD.
LFG!!!!!

There has been SO much hype during the off season. Hopefully the players haven’t been reading it all.

Todd Bowles … “I mean, they’ll be ready.”
Would anyone expect a Head Coach to say anything other than that?
What I don’t get is his “They’re just playing it under the lights and playing it for real.” I thought the game was at 1 PM Joe.

Lakeland.. I read it as EE and Parrish will be ready. Named names.
DR I think “under the lights” is metaphorical. Unless the dome is closed in ATL, then it’s literal.
Just saying…

Who’s backing up Dean if Morrison is a no-go?
