“Nobody Like Deeply Respects Even The Buccaneers”

September 2nd, 2025

Bucs GM Jason Licht.

Clown alert! And he gets a paycheck from FOX and/or TheAthletic.com.

David Helman has been a rising NFL guru in recent years and ESPN analyst Kevin Clark had him on his BSPN podcast for about 25 minutes recently to fire off season picks and breakdowns.

Helman showed he’s a thoughtful man living in a big-market world, a man with researched insight.

“Nobody really likes the NFC South. Nobody like deeply respects even the Buccaneers,” Helman said.

“And I would guess if a million people make preseason predictions, then 99.9 percent of those playoff brackets are going to have the NFC South champion as the No. 4 seed with no Wild Card teams. Like that’s just what it’s going to be.”

Hmmm, a guy with a much bigger audience than Helman just picked the Falcons to be a 10-win Wild Card team. Reasoned and seasoned CBS senior insider Prickly Pete Prisco picks the Bucs to be the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Should Joe go on?

Way to have the pulse of your colleagues, dude.

Ironically, Clark himself is on the Bucs’ bandwagon and mentioned them in June as a budding Super Bowl contender this summer.

  1. Smarter than Joe Says:

When the two best teams in the division are coached by Todd Blows and Raheem, the respect is going to have to be earned.

The talent on each roster cannot overcome the coaching and schematic ineptitude of these two Head Coaches

Bucs will be 7-10 with the injuries and the scrouge of Todd Blows being in charge

  2. SlyPirate Says:

LAST CALL FOR ALL THE SEASON PREDICTIONS

    11-6

    Go Bucs!

  3. Gofortheface30 Says:

The Bucs are 51-33 in the 2020’s with a superbowl and multiple playoff appearances. They have been arguably THE best NFC team in this era and top 3-4 franchise in the nfl this decade, and some fan on here is talking about earning respect. Lmao sure thing, if you say so pal.

  4. Koala Says:

He seems to be talking about fans, not media people.

  5. LakelandBuc Says:

I think the Falcons win 12 games

And the. Bucs win 10 games
The Falcons has a lot of depth at every position
They don’t have any major injuries, outside of their RT

If their Core offensive weapons, London, Robinson, Pitts, Lindstrom, McCloud, Mooney, stays healthy. I think their defense has improved a whole lot, with the new DC, and speedy rookies.

    This is my prediction

  6. Gipper Says:

If Bucs have just a mediocre defense in 2025, respect will come. Pass defense the last couple of years has been an abomination. Shocking that Todd Bowles was given a contract extension, instead of proving that the defense would be improved in 2025. Actually like Todd Bowles, but we are well past the point where he needed to hire a top notch DC. Surprised that Licht hasn’t insisted on it. We will know soon enough.

  7. AMI_Chris Says:

How many times can a grown man, a paid analyst, use the word “like” in an interview? Lord, can’t anyone speak decent English these days? smh

  8. ReeeBarrr Says:

Bucs are a well established team with leadership and continuity. Grizz is a bit of an ex factor.

But for extraneous circumstances, i see the Bucs going anywhere from 10-7 to 13-4.

    I’ll pick a number.

    12-5!

  9. WutdaBucisthis Says:

    12-5 go Bucs!!
    I’m all in.

Let me guess, you picked the Falcons to win the division last year too, didn’t you? You didn’t learn your lesson last year, did you? Hahaha

  11. ChiBuc Says:

Joe, why would a divergent opinion get your panties in a bunch. In fact, you should be grateful. Without those nay layers, you’d have little to write about
Joe doesn’t wear panties. Also, Joe had plenty to write about when everyone agreed the Bucs were elite (2021) and for years when the consensus was that they were miserable. So this is ludicrous. –Joe

    Sayers*

  13. Buc1987 Says:

    9-8.

  14. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Yea, and Bama was supposed to beat the brakes off of FSU(on paper) and look how that turned out lol

Gotta play the game, that’s when you find out who’s better than whom.

  15. Funderstruck Says:

    lol LakelandBuc…

Penix has started 3 games (1-2) and was held out of all preseason games. His blindside tackle is out for the year and they’re relying on #3 to keep Reddick from ending Penix’s career.

Sure, Tampa has more question marks… lol

  16. David Says:

Sounds like another reason not to listen to the ignorant national talking heads on that channel

  17. BucU Says:

Injuries will kill us again this year.

    9-8

  18. MelvinJunior Says:

What is the Bucs position in the Vegas SB odds pecking-order, right now… I believe the last time I saw it they were like TIED for 16TH, hovering around the middle of the pack!? So, I’m not really seeing where what he said is wrong!?

  19. orlbucfan Says:

Says who? That’s always been the best PR for the Bucs: under the pro-fit hot air sports nitwits.

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    12wins

    NFC CHAMPS

    GO BUCS

  21. jimmy Says:

the tap of delusion is running wide open today. too many bloggers and half wits spitting in the wind causing a ruckus a few days before opening weekend.

THE BUCS ARE UNDEFEATED. FACT. lol monkies

  22. infomeplease Says:

I have a lot of faith in this Buc team, and injuries and all. 12 / 5 should be obtainable. Even a bit better if they can win more prime time games. This team is better than last year’s. Time to shine Buc’s! Time to shine!!

  23. MJ Says:

last year Kirk Cousins and the Falcons were going to win the south and we would stink- we went 10-7 not bad- should’ve beat the skins err commanders on wild card weekend.

This year we have a better team(reddick, voz, parrish, ebuka, tez) and a slightly easier schedule… go figure…

when CG and Tristan and JMac all get back watch out!

1st game is important but 0-1 is not the end of the world- we did that our SB year

still my call is Bucs 27 Falcons 17

  24. infomeplease Says:

First things first!!! One game at a time ?! Bet Atlanta at Atlanta!! LFG

  25. Statistically Insignificant Reader Says:

A Bucs homer all the way. I predict undefeated…until we are not.

  26. SenileSenior Says:

My most optimistic guess is 12-5. My more pessimistic guess is 10-7. Either way with few significant injuries we should be humming in December/January in time for the playoffs.

    Go Bucs!!

  27. Cobraboy Says:

    My primary concern is health.

As a team ages injuries go up.

  28. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

I want to say 12-5, but the pessimist in me has my prediction at 11-6 this year. Still good enough for the division and either the 2nd or 3rd playoff seed.

  29. Boltsfan17 Says:

8-7. Nothing changes here until Bowles is gone.

  30. Buddha Says:

The top sports betting analyst on the Action Network picked the Buccaneers to go 0-7 and be the the last NFL team to win a game. His name is Brian Anderson

  31. MelvinJunior Says:

@“Boltsfan17” – are you also predicting World War III and the season is cut short, and suspended with still 2-games left to be played!?

  32. Bucco0i812 Says:

Nothing really matters anyone can see nothing really matters as long as we have Todd B
