Mauler Tristan Wirfs Returns

September 28th, 2025

The painful 31-25 loss to the Eagles today featured the return of Tristan Wirfs, and the All-World left tackle looked strong, fast and dominant.

Joe was so damn fired up.

It was Wirfs’ first game after early-July knee surgery. The rust wasn’t too obvious, if it was there at all. Wirfs was mauling Eagles out there.

The Bucs ran some multiple snaps behind Wirfs and his pass blocking was money.

Joe is highlighting the Bucky Irving touchdown catch below. On the play, Baker Mayfield faded/scrambled right in the pocket and then moved back into the pocket and stepped up to make the throw. The only way that play happens is if Wirfs holds his pass rushing defender completely in check for much longer than required.

He did.

This Bucs offensive line is a dangerous group when healthy. Joe is eager to get right tackle Luke Goedeke back, as well as veteran guard Michael Jordan.

This game is encouraging! They went all OUT to bets us. Next time we meet them we will beat that B7tch down like Cris Brown

I loved when Baker got in Mitchell’s face and Wirfs stepped in. Mitchell was dumb enough to get in Wirfs face. He must have a death wish.

Good to see Wirfs and Godwin back. Should be strong come mid November when Goedeke and JMac returns. Need to win at least 4 of these next 7 games, the last 6 are all winnable in my opinion. 3-1 and haven’t come close to hitting on all cylinders.

Gotta coach Ebuka to follow the big fella next time
