Luke Goedeke, Bucs Agree To New Contract

September 2nd, 2025

New contract.

UPDATED: Bucs right tackle Luke Goedeke will be around Tampa Bay for four more years.

At least that’s the goal of his brand new contract. The 2022 second-round pick was in a contract year. “Was” being the operative word. Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Goedeke signed a four-year extension today.

Goedeke has developed into one of the better right tackles in the game. Between him and Tristan Wirfs at left tackle, the Bucs have one of the best tackle duos in the NFL.

Reportedly, Goedeke will receive some $90 million over the length of the contract with $50 million guaranteed, a shade more than two seasons. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports the new deal starts next season, though other reports are unclear. The contract makes Goedeke the third-highest paid right tackle in the game.

Congrats to Luke. Should be a solid anchor on the right side, so long as the concussion issues are behind him…

This O-Line is really solid and young and with Baker and these skill players in Bucky and others makes this a formidable contender this year and many more to come. But about that Putrid Pass Defense and soft coverage on 3rd downs, please make it STOP this year!! GO BUCS!!

  5. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Wonder if the Bucs hold off on Zyon a little bit, to see how he plays during the season before committing long term.
I would extend M1K3 now for another year, and get it out the way.

  18. Hodad Says:

Good deal for both parties. Luke gets paid a year early, Bucs save money in the long run.

  19. Jeffrey Becker Says:

if Heck flames out, could he play LT

  20. Scotty Mack Says:

Great news. Both tackles locked up for the next four years. Super hard to replace a top-notch tackle. Just ask the Chiefs!

  21. JimBobBuc Says:

Licht gets the deal done early, saving money and without drama. Unlike drama queen Jerry Jones.

  25. Please Use A Different Handle, Thanks. Says:

This is fantastic. Both tackles locked up.

  26. Rod Munch Says:

I figured he’d get $22.5m a year on a new deal, and he got $22.5m. Damn I’m good.

  27. Aqualung Says:

    Good.

Expecting to read that he’ll undergo surgery on Friday for something they were hoping would heal since January.

    Go Bucs.

  28. unbelievable Says:

    lol aqualung

  29. Rod Munch Says:

This is great news, you solidified your tackles for the next half decade with what is the best 1-2 combo in the league. Only issue is trying up a lot of money there, so you’ll have to find savings elsewhere, but can deal with that later.

  30. DrunkInYbor Says:

Well deserved Luke! Keeping your own players is massively important. The days of letting Michael Bennets walk is long gone.

  31. D-Rome Says:

    Fantastic! Congratulation to him!

  32. Cometowin2 Says:

Congrats Luke! As much as anyone deserves that kind of money you earned it. Been one of the most consistent trying to get better. Always in the facility and weight room. Keep earning it.

  33. Saskbucs Says:

Happy to have him long term. Now stay healthy Luke and don’t let Baker go head bashing on you in excitement!

Hopefully next years swing tackle is in house already as well. Continuity on the OL, gotta love it.

  39. Eckwood Says:

Rich McKay Special !! Good for both parties!!
Lil Richie has never gotten the credit he deserves
…… Lil Rich was the best trader , signer , contract / roster crafter in the NFL

  41. Buc1987 Says:

  42. Pickgrin Says:

Well deserved. Luke was a borderline Pro Bowl performer last year in just his 3rd year in the league.

This is a 4 year extension btw. So Goedeke is under contract with the Bucs for 5 years – through the 2029 season.

Take care of that Noggin Luke!

Yes, he actually probably is you moron. Pay attention instead of sniffing glue.

  47. SlyPirate Says:

    OVERPAID? KNOW YOIR HISTORY.

Name the time Licht lost a key player because of money?

    Never.

He’s the only GM in NFL history to resign all 22 starters after a Super Bowl. Don’t worry about the money. Licht always has that part figured out.

  48. Mr. Editor Says:

    Excellent! Thank you, Mr. Licht!

Congrats to the Glass Eater! Kudos to Jason and the gang for getting this one done as well.

    Go Bucs!
