Chris Godwin, Tristan Wirfs “Questionable” For Eagles Game
September 26th, 2025
Injury update.
At least they aren’t “out.”
Per Joe’s good friend Rock Riley, Todd Bowles said after practice this afternoon that both receiver Chris Godwin and left tackle Tristan Wirfs have a chance to play Sunday against the Eagles. But they will be listed as “questionable.”
So the door is open for each to possibly play for the first time this season.
Wirfs has been “full-go” in practice all week. Godwin practiced fully Wednesday and took yesterday off. He was on the field today but his activity status will be reported later.
September 26th, 2025 at 12:45 pm
I think they both play
September 26th, 2025 at 12:50 pm
If I had to choose just one out of the two it would be Wirfs…
Our O-line is in desperate need of reinforcement.
September 26th, 2025 at 12:50 pm
so you’re telling me there’s a chance
September 26th, 2025 at 12:53 pm
There was a zero percent chance they’d be listed as anything higher. Coaches always finesse the injury report.
The fact that they aren’t listed as OUT is good news, beyond that, we’ll see on Sunday.
September 26th, 2025 at 12:53 pm
Beautiful!! perfect timing. No turnovers we win this game!! Go Bucs
September 26th, 2025 at 12:53 pm
Yeah, I’m questionable to watch the game Sunday.
🤣

## Do both CG14 and EE2 play Sunday?
## Who is going to start in the defensive secondary?
———–
This site has some tech headaches.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:05 pm
4-0!!!
GO BUCS!!!!
September 26th, 2025 at 1:05 pm
Joe, you’ve got some major tech issues on here. It needs to be dealt with.

2 Keys to a win Sunday. EE2 and CG14 play. No way will Feisty Bake sit out this one. The other is the starting defensive secondary lineup. It’s starting to look like Dungy’s swarming defense. I’m talking the SB one.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:24 pm
Key questions:
Will EE2 and CG14 play Sunday?
What will be the starting defensive secondary?
Go Bucs!!!!!!
September 26th, 2025 at 1:24 pm
Questionable is actually an upgrade on their status so I will take this as good news.
Even if out they should be a definite got in week 5 against Ocean Chickens.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:25 pm
Only Ebuka and Godwin until Evans comes back. Only…tee hee!
I hope Wirfs comes back 100% and they put guys back where they belong.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:26 pm
This site is starting to lose a lot of long time commenters. It needs to be addressed.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:27 pm
At least shore up the the left side of the line with Wirfs back at LT.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:29 pm
Pretty obvious both will start on Sunday. If the Bucs win this game they will have put themselves in a great position to be the #1 seed in the NFC.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:30 pm
Questionable is the new Probable it seems…..
Pretty much every time a player is listed as ‘questionable’ – they play. And thats across the league.
By the same measure – ‘Doubtful’ seems to have replaced questionable – as about 50% of players listed as doubtful seem to find their way onto the field on Sundays.
“Out” is the only pre-game designation that hasn’t been infected with attempts at competitive advantage it seems.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:39 pm
I’m guessing Godwin plays but gets very limited action. Like a quick pass early just to break the ice. More worried about Wirfs since offensive linemen often do not go through substitutions throughout the game, and he is probably not 100% yet. We’ll need them both against the seagulls next week.
September 26th, 2025 at 1:52 pm
I’m not even joking… if Wirfs isn’t playing this week, they need to sit Baker, he’s going to get injured vs this defensive front if they get the same offensive line play they got last week. I said before, sign Trask for this game, let him go out and be the punching bag for this game, and play for the rest of the year.
If Wirfs is back, then obviously that’s huge. I’m still not sure what approach I like better, if you put Wirfs at LT, move Barton back to center, etc, that certainly secures the left side of the offensive line, but you will still be terrible on the right side (even if Jordan is back, no idea if he can flip from LG to RG and still be OK). If you put Wirfs at RT, what you’re saying is Barton is better than Heck at tackle (not a controversial statement) and then you keep Jordan at LG where he’s been solid, and you’re down to only needing to worry about RG, which generally is a lot easier to get good play at vs tackle.

Baker is out for this game, Teddy “2 Gloves” Bridgewater will shine, Bucs will lose 35-17 but he will play well enough to keep the starting job
September 26th, 2025 at 2:14 pm
Wirfs is a definite, Godwin limited plays
September 26th, 2025 at 2:20 pm
I thought Joe published injury report that on Wednesday that Wirfs was limited in practice. I loved that he was full participant on Thursday — But I would not qualify him yet as full go.
September 26th, 2025 at 2:25 pm
They will probably both play, but why let the other team know that they have those two to prepare for for sure.
It’s a smart sneaky move.
September 26th, 2025 at 2:34 pm
Godwin should never be involved in any targets over the middle. He is fearless and always fighting for yards after catch. Use him on the boundaries or vertically. Let Otton handle the middle underneath stuff where there are collisions and low tackles. Until he has 3 games to get in shape him sparingly.
September 26th, 2025 at 2:35 pm
Rod I don’t think I want Barton blocking his blindside.in this game. Let’s get the left side back to golden, heck wasn’t that bad in right side imo. Might even be close to Barton level on left. Just figure out who best RG is between Jordan, Klein, Feeney, opeta
September 26th, 2025 at 2:48 pm
They’re playing. Not sure if it’s a good idea but they are playing.
September 26th, 2025 at 2:48 pm
The Cooter household is a big Teddy “2 Gloves” Bridgewater fan and we all feel if he plays good he keeps the job on Sunday
September 26th, 2025 at 3:03 pm
Neal Cooter…1.Teddy sucks. 2. Baker’s NOT out.
September 26th, 2025 at 3:05 pm
Jeff told us all for months, Godwin wouldn’t even be back this year and Licht should have never resigned him.
Jeff ain’t too bright.

Barton at LT is dramatically better than Heck at RT, that would be the thinking.
I’m mixed on which route to go, in particular since it means Barton needs to get some reps this week at center, and if they’re not sure about Wirfs, then likely they’d keep him taking snaps at LT. Meanwhile we know Wirfs is all-world at RT if he’s out there, and at least you solidify there, while being solid at center, and hopefully LG if Jordan is back as well. Then it comes down to getting some decent play at RG, and hoping Barton is good enough at LT, for at least this week.
I think it just comes down to who got snaps where during practice. In any case, until Luke is back, it’s going to a huge weak spot somewhere on the line.
September 26th, 2025 at 4:02 pm
I love “Questionable”.
Wirfs and Godwin change the playbook and Philly has to watch more tape.
This is the game-within-the-game. This is good coaching.
September 26th, 2025 at 4:08 pm
If Wirfs & Godwin aren’t in, might be time to let Baker have a Sunday rest… no need to incentivize the Eagles d-line tee off on Baker.
Hoping Todd has some stuff dialed up to stop Saquan, again.
September 26th, 2025 at 4:46 pm
i’m thinking wirfs should be a go…so the left side of the line is back up and running again…
as for the right side…geez man, no mauch and goedeke is just crazy bad…
i guess eventually a jordan goedeke right side can work…
what about opeta…?…has he regressed that much…?…there was a time we thought he might be ahead of bredeson for a guard spot…
what about the big german guy marinating on the practice squad for at least the past 2 seasons…metz…i think that’s his name…
if jordan can replace mauch and everyone else is back to their spots, including the glass eater – we should be ok…
possible RG fillers:
jordan
opeta
metz (or is he a T)
if i’m front office, and jordan stumbles at RG…get opeta ready…
opeta and goedeke just might be a nice brute-ish blend on that side……….if opeta didn’t wash out or something…
also let CG suit up and at least be a decoy on some plays, to free up the likes of the 3rd, 4th, or 5th receiver

When did Rod Muncherman start worrying about Baker Mayfield’s health? After McMillan over ran the jet sweep last year causing a poor exchange, Muncher wanted to drop Mayfield from 30,000 feet without a parachute into Tampa Bay. In the 2023 playoff game with Detroit, Otton nearly collided with Godwin because Otton didn’t run the right underneath route. The resulting INT caused Munch to stick pins into his little Mayfield voodoo doll. Neither plays were Baker’s fault but like a stand up guy, he took the blame rather than hang those failures onto his teammates. Is it any wonder his teammates love Mayfield?
September 26th, 2025 at 5:04 pm
They did away with the probable tag a couple years back. So there is questionable and then really questionable. We kind of guess depending on their practice. Wirfs is 💯 gonna play if I was to guess and Godwin in probably truly the questionable one and will probably be decided on game day, but I think he plays too.
September 26th, 2025 at 5:15 pm
Rod
I do not disagree with your logic and have thought similar thoughts. The only place we differ is Trask! I gotta go with Teddy! He’s got a winning career record, 33-32 is only one game above .500 which reeks of mediocrity. He did have one excellent season his second year when he led Minnesota to an 11-5 record.
Bottom line for me is Teddy has been there and done that! I think he showed he still got a little left with that preseason appearance on SHORT notice. He’s had a lot of time to master the offense.
Meanwhile Trask has not been practicing with the team and he has NO record.
I do not dislike Trask and if he blows up somewhere I’m happy for our Gator fans. I just don’t want to see him make his NFL debut in the most important game of the year…so far. It’s not even fair to Kyle.
Outside of that I understand your thinking. In addition Baker is already banged up and I’d hate to see him need to try and save this game with his legs. Not that he can’t do it, he “could”. But the fierce Eagles D could also mess up the rest of the Bucs season if they knock out Baker.

Run run run the ball,, pound the eagles into a Florida heat submission
September 26th, 2025 at 5:52 pm
Jmarkbuc,
“Yeah, I’m questionable to watch the game Sunday”
If you are questionable to watch your 3-0 team, you aren’t a fan.
Why are you here,lonely?
September 26th, 2025 at 5:57 pm
Hold them out. Let the Eagles see only parts of the offense live until the playoffs and adjust to Godwin, Evans and McMillian all returning.
September 26th, 2025 at 6:16 pm
Shout out to Rock Riley. Dude is as loyal as the day is long and has been doing it for several years.
September 26th, 2025 at 6:33 pm
Wirfs has been a full participant all week. He will start Sunday. Not sure about Godwin. If he plays he will be on a pitch count and will see limited action.
September 26th, 2025 at 7:00 pm
I can’t believe people are still pushing Trask.
September 26th, 2025 at 7:09 pm
Right now I would say that the strength of the Eagles defensive line is the interior. You have Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter. Nolan Smith their best Edge rusher who led the team in sacks last year is out. I would much rather make sure that the interior of our line is a solid as possible which means starting Bredeson at left guard and Barton at center. At Right guard we have a few options depending on the health of jordan, klein, opeta, and new signing Feeney. Heck was more than serviceable at right tackle last week and is a good run blocker so it would keep him in as I think in this game perimeter running , screens should be part of the feature.
September 26th, 2025 at 8:55 pm
I think they’re both ready to go. They’re just waiting for the last possible second so the Eagles don’t know.
With those two back, which means 3/5 of the offensive line his back to normal, they have a shot of winning this. Two weeks ago I would’ve said no.

WIRFS WILL PLAY!
I don’t see how he doesn’t.
I follow Wirfs on Instagram and earlier today he posted an IG Story to the song of “Return Of The Mack” and had a photo of himself.
He’s playing.
