Bucs Should Have Known About Punts Blocked; Punters Scheduled To Work Out

September 30th, 2025

Bucs special teams coach Thomas McGaughey.

Could this be the fall of Riley Dixon?

This summer in training camp, Bucs coach Todd Bowles said his favorite story of the summer was Riley Dixon.

Now, after watching two of Dixon’s punts blocked in the first four games, the Bucs have scheduled at least two punters to work out for the team this week.

Per Greg Auman of FOX Sports, the Bucs plan to work out former Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse and former Bills punter Brad Robbins. Bowles vowed on Monday solutions will be found to resolve the atrocious special teams play that has haunted the team every game this season.

Sunday, Dixon had a punt blocked and returned for a touchdown. The Bucs lost by one score.

Auman also brought up an interesting point on his Twitter feed. The combo of Bucs special teams coach Thomas McGaughey and Dixon is a toxic blend that should have been a warning for the Bucs to beware, if not outright avoid.

McGaughey is not known as one of the league’s top special teams coaches. Per Auman, in McGaughey’s six seasons as the Giants’ special teams coach, only three teams had more blocked punts than the Giants.

Then you throw gas on the fire with Dixon, who, as Auman pointed out, was the active leader in punts blocked entering this season.

So this trainwreck was bound to happen. How could sportswriters dig up this information and the Bucs not know it — or willfully ignore it?

Take the active career-leader in blocked punts and have him punt for a coach whose teams are known to allow blocked punts — what did the Bucs think would happen?

Joe isn’t dealing in hyperbole or blowing things out of proportion here. If this atrocious special teams is not repaired, and it’s not just the punt team, it will Pearl Harbor the Bucs’ special dreams for this season.

  1. Daniel Dream Says:

everone is targeting our long snapper as he seems really slow out if his crouch. Thats something I’ve noticed is teams using stunts to move the other lineman and personal protectors out of the way and then they run a blitzer right up the middle past him before he even recovers from his snap. Am i the only person who has noticed this?

  2. FortMyersDave Says:

Given Greg Auman’s report, it sounds like the Bucs are going to scapegoat the punter and give the actual cause of the problem, this special team coordinator another chance with a new punter. Is this the Bucs’ front office being unwilling to admit making a mistake when they hired this former Giants’ coach or is it loyalty to a fault? You know the loyalty which Coach Koetter had for Coach Smitty, remember how that worked out? I hope replacing the punter or putting a fire under him with competition is not just merely a band aid but let’s see what happens in Seattle.

  3. Steve Says:

Why doesn’t this head coach take responsibility for anything?

  4. UGotRobbed Says:

Is Dixon responsible for blocked field goals as well!? Coaching…period!

  5. Bucnjim Says:

Good organizations fix things immediately! Let’s give them a chance to right the ship. When you think about it, special teams have cost us every single game so far this year. Get it done Licht!

  6. jimmy Says:

superman wont be held accountable. none of them will.

  7. Panhandle Buc Says:

And we see this train wreck in live action every Sunday! UNREAL!!!!!!

  8. 941bucsfan Says:

Everyone here blaming coaching… must of not read the report that Riley dixon actually was the league leader in punts blocked BEFORE he signed with the bucs.

  9. jimmy Says:

    who hired him?

  10. JA Says:

Once again, any criticism of Todd Bowles will be metamorphosed into a form of hatred. To some here it’s virtually impossible to separate work from personality.
That’s a myopic cross to bear, yet they proudly wear it.
On this year’s first blocked punt, the fault could be placed solely on Dixon. His snail-like routine was ripe for a block, and the fact he did nothing to hurry the kick as the blockers came charging is mind numbing.
The second blocked punt, on Sunday, was not the fault of Dixon. The rush was nearly on him when the snap arrived. Any kicker would have had that attempt blocked. Someone missed a block and the blocker arrived untouched. That should never happen in the NFL.
The blocked FG by the Jets was nobody’s fault, other than the refs for not flagging an illegal two-step leap to make the block. Chase never had a chance on that one.
So, who goes to the unemployment line when these things happen? Most head coaches fire their special teams coach, in this case McGaughey.
But no, Bowles is looking to fire Dixon. But why so late in the process?
In retrospect: Bowles knew of Dixon’s slo-mo style for months, perhaps years, and should have known it was ripe for a block. Why did he keep him, to have the Eagles laughing at the ease of their block-score?
Bowles knew of McGaughey‘s history. Why did he hire him?
This is on Bowles, plain and simple. It’s things like this that keep this team from becoming elite.
And finally, this isn’t about hating Todd Bowles. This is nothing other than the opinion of a Bucs fan who wants to see his team win another Super Bowl.
Could we do worse than Bowles? Of course, ask the 2024 Bears.
But I believe we could do better, as well.

  11. heyjude Says:

It’s on the coach and punter. Other teams are betting on it now.

  12. Gofortheface30 Says:

And the injuries will Hiroshima the season if they keep losing key guys. Both need to stop. Jon Gruden said this yesterday – never in his LIFE has he ever seen this many injuries across the league. It’s not just in our heads. Everyone wanted less preseason games, load management, less practices and other extremely gimmie a G, gimmie an A, gimmie a Y, rules. This is the fall out. Thank you gen z, because we totally tune in to watch backups!

  13. Boomer Says:

This is another example of a Head Coach’s loyalty to his coordinators and coaches over the players, (not to mention the fans and the community). Bowles has said in more than one of his post game pressers that he had to fix special teams….

And more to the point – The best Bowles could hire was this guy? Don’t forget that Bowles let our Special Teams coach pick the last spots on the roster.

For a team that is supposed to be a Super Bowl contender, blocked field goals, missed extra points and blocked punts – returned for touchdowns – just cannot happen week after week. This hot mess is 100% on Bowles and not the front office.

And last but not least…. Anyone think the locker room doesn’t know this? How many more weeks will the O and D guys put their bodies on the line knowing Bowles is protecting one of his coaches? This isn’t a trainwreck – it’s the friggin Titanic and we just hit the iceberg.

  14. Jmarkbuc Says:

    JA

Perfectly said. This falls on Bowles. They don’t call them Head Coaches for no reason.

  15. Christos Says:

Dixon shares part of the blame but is also coaching.
    Who coaches blocking schemes?
Who is watching the tape and decides to make changes?
In the Houston game befor the blocked punt the Texans came really really close to block 2 previous punts. Nobody was watching to make some adjustments?
    What are they doing?

  16. BucU Says:

Another catastrophic failure from Todd Bowles. The ST coach should’ve been fired Sunday evening. But Todd says he’s going to fix it. Does that give everybody the warm fuzzies now? I didn’t think so. All you Bowles apologists are pretty quiet since Sunday. Must be a coincidence.

  17. BucU Says:

    Excellent article Joe.

  18. Marky mark Says:

Thank God. Try out guys who used to play Rugby or AFL (Aussie rules) The reason us they kick on the run. So they can see wherever the rush us loading up and run to the other side.

  19. Geno711 Says:

Let’s be clear — I have been on here as much as anyone saying the eyeball test shows Dixon looking slow.

Then looking at all his blocked punts in his history — seems to verify that.

That being said — Sean Tucker and others blocking have been an issue.

To me Sean Tucker needs to be inactive on game days if he cannot help out on Special teams. Based upon his poor return game and his even worse ability to pick up the right blocking keys — we need him out of there and someone better to be playing on Sundays.

  20. Larry Says:

The active NFL punter with the most blocked punts in his career is Riley Dixon, who has had 8 punts blocked as of the start of the 2025 season and now 2 so far this year!

  21. Larry Says:

From what I can gather, former Michigan punter Brad Robbins has had none blocked but needs some coaching up to return to his Michigan consistency. Quite a task for McGaughey!

  22. Jmarkbuc Says:

Look.. the punts he has gotten off pretty much suck. The shank on Sunday, and against the Jets if you take out the one decent punt his average is about thirty…

That and Stevie Wonder can see he’s slloooowwww as molasses, blocking notwithstanding

  23. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“To me Sean Tucker needs to be inactive on game days if he cannot help out on Special teams”

Who would you activate in his place? Serious question, because if you can make this case for our primary KR to be deactivated who has NOT been at fault on any of these blocked punts than what’s the reasoning? Also what are we keeping Ryan Miller the actual culprit active for?

  24. Zoocomics Says:

lmao… the Bowles haters are killing me. Short of making another Super Bowl this team’s success is in spite of Bowles inability to lead and/or coach men. Smh.

We’re witnessing an era where we’ve won more than we’ve ever had in our history and yet so few of you can take a step back and enjoy this. Who exactly do you think we should have at HC? Please someone pop on here with an intelligent response…when Bowles seat was super-hot, whenever that was, we fire Bowles, mostly like his coaching staff, who was that hot coordinator we could have landed that would have rebuilt the coaching staff and sailed us into the promise land of super bowls after super bowls? There are 25 other NFL teams around the league trying to figure out whether they need to keep shopping for a new head coach, and some of them just acquired the latest, hottest coordinator. Take a breath, we’ll be fine.

Remember this era of Bucs football because at some point we will slump again because something didn’t work out in this franchise, and you’ll be missing our competent way of football. There are few games Bowles has coached where we haven’t been in EVERY SINGLE GAME. That says a lot.

  25. Leopold Stotch Says:

    I feel vindicated

  26. Marky mark Says:

Why do the Bucs have thus guy?

McGaughey is not known as one of the league’s top special teams coaches. Per Auman, in McGaughey’s six seasons as the Giants’ special teams coach prior to joining the Bucs, only three teams had more blocked punts than the Giants.

Thus us a serious lack of judgement by Bowles or Licht or both.

  27. Bucnjim Says:

I may be mistaken, but wasn’t Dixon supposed to be this booming punter that can kick the ball 60 yards? Even when he’s actually getting the ball off, it’s only going an average or below average distance.

  28. First Last Says:

I think this is inability of the NFL to hire outside the NFL. They need to look at the USFL or whatever it is called these days and see if any of those special teams players or coaches look any good because recycling the same dudes over and over is not cutting it

  29. Defense Rules Says:

This is an issue of PERFORMANCE, in this case, crappy Special Teams performance. And yes, the fix lies with BOTH the coaches AND the players.

Riley Dixon has NINE blocked punts to his ‘credit’. Yes, that’s the most of any active punter. Yes he can kick it reasonably far, but he apparently takes his time doing it. His punt average (45.6 YPP) ranks #27 this year, and his net punt average (32.2 YPP) ranks #29. He IS part of the problem, and will continue to be. He’s been doing this for 10 years; good luck changing him.

Thomas McGaughey is in his 2nd year as our S/Ts coach. I wasn’t impressed last year, and even less impressed this year. And not just with our punting woes, but also with our coverages of punts & kickoffs. And BTW, since Riley Dixon was his punter with the Giants for 3 years, I think it’s a safe assumption that Dixon is here because of him (his recommendation).

Todd Bowles is taking the only approach he really can right now in bringing in punter candidates. But if I was TB, I’d also be looking for a S/Ts coach replacement.

  30. JA Says:

    @Zoo

You’re echoing my point, but …
Everything you said about the recent success is true, but we have a golden opportunity facing us NOW!
Licht has provided us with a roster far superior to the teams in our division, for NOW. So why not take all the advantages placed before us, NOW?
The NFC South will not suck forever, and winning this division will not be as easy in years to come.
As for replacement coaching, i would’ve promoted Coen to HC and parted ways with Todd. We didn’t have to go hunting, our catch was in the building.

  31. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The Bucs don’t fire coaches during a season, so the issue will continue.

Even if they replace the Punter (which they should), the blocking for the punter was horrible. We have a strong chance at a Superbowl run if we can get healthy. I would hate to miss out because of ST.

I wish they would replace Thomas McGaughey.

  32. Baking with Grizz Says:

I’m not Todd hater. I completely trust Licht. But 1+1 =2
    Licht and Todd FAILED!

    Time to fix it!!!!

  33. David Says:

Fire McGaughey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The blocking scheme is a big part of the problem as well.

And haters keep trying to blame Todd Bowles… Screaming he needs to take responsibility… What do you think they’re doing?

Him and LICHT screwed up with this combo and hiring them in the first place and now this is them taking responsibility and making changes.

  34. Jeff Says:

Jason and Todd need to do better here. This loss is on them. Sheer incompetence.

  35. FortMyersDave Says:

Bonzai, I think the Bucs could launch McGaughey if the Glazers called Licht and Licht called Todd to make it happen. This was the situation in 2018 when Koetter was adamant that Smitty was not going anywhere even after his D gave up something 48 to Chicago but then they lost badly again and Koetter suddenly did a 180 and fired his friend, albeit a week or 2 too late. If things continue down the path they are with McGaughy, especially if a punter and couple of other special teamers are cut loose this week, we could see the Glazers force the coach’s hand again if special teams do a repeat performance in Seattle.

  36. Bucsfan Says:

There is a great special teams coach available right now who could step in and take charge and that is Joe Marciano. I know him well and his passion for achieving excellence in special teams is second to none. Marciano also gets his guys to BLOCK kicks-When was the last time you remember the Bucs blocking a kick?

  37. 813bucboi Says:

    GREAT OBSERVATION @ DANIEL DREAM!!!!!!!!

most of you clowns want a knee jerk re-action!!!!!

    this is a 3-headed monster….

its a combination of the long snapper, protection and Dixons timing…

-tell Dixion to speed it up and also bring in punters
-go over protection with the long snapper and McGaughey

gotta trust you team and give your players and coaches a chance to fix it…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  38. Marky mark Says:

Forget those guys above. Traditional stationary American punters are an invitation to get blocked. The blockers know where the guy is. Go with the kick on the run guys.

    I know what to do to fix the blocked punts. Fire the current guy. The Aussies are flooding NCAA. The played rugby or AFL Aussie Rules Football growing up The kick on the run and can run the ball too. So they roll out to avoid the rush than kick. The can roll left or right. Try out these three guys and pick one. I would pick the guy who is equally effective rolling left or right. That way they are unpredictable. The stationary American punter can be planned for by the rush because v they know where he will be. Move the guy around and all the plans are busted. Here they are;

Here are a few Australian (or Australia-associated) punters who were either cut or placed on practice squads / waived rather than making or staying on a 53-man active roster:

Matthew “Matt” Hayball New Orleans Saints He was waived / cut by the Saints in August 2025.

Cameron Johnston Pittsburgh Steelers He was cut (released) by the Steelers in August 2025.

Mitch Wishnowsky San Francisco 49ers / Washington Commanders Formerly with the 49ers, he was released and later signed to the Commanders’ practice squad in September 2025, but then released again.

  39. Bucs4Ever Says:

This is 100% on Jason Licht. Someone in the FO had to know about the blocked punts…also hiring that piece of garbage as STs coach was another mistake.

Licht isn’t all that people say he is…he is mid as his overall record shows…actually it says LOSER.

  40. heyjude Says:

Todd isn’t to blame. He knows there is a problem and addressed it. Certainly he is talking to the Special Teams coach, Dixon, and others too. They can get ahead of this and fix it or decide something differently. A lot of moving parts to stop it from happening again.

  41. BakerFan Says:

They both need to go…. this block was all on the blocking scheme. My gosh it was a jailbreak with the Mouth Breather Eagles coach running the side line yelling I told you so. Coaches scheme of blocking, should of been fired directly after the game.

  42. miken Says:

@zoocomics…. Bowls record with the bucs is 2 games over 500, give me a break.

  43. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Same old Bucs. They never have all 3 phases working well. This ST coach needs to be fired asap. Also need to trade for a LB as Dennis is clueless.

  44. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“I think this is inability of the NFL to hire outside the NFL. They need to look at the USFL or whatever it is called these days and see if any of those special teams players or coaches look any good because recycling the same dudes over and over is not cutting it“

Shane Beamer, but he’d be hard to lure away from his HC gig at South Carolina. If there’s anybody who’d be a dynamite ST coach in the NFL, it’s him it’s literally in his blood. Pipe dream obviously, but to entertain the dream he can bring LaNorris Sellers with him

  45. Defense Rules Says:

Whenever bad things happen in ANY business, the tendency is always to blame those at the top of the organization. In this case, Todd Bowles & Jason Licht seem to be likely targets. After all, they were the 2 guys who SHOULD have prevented this S/Ts fiasco by hiring players who didn’t do this type of stuff AND training them up better.

But the reality is more-so that ‘you pay your money & you take your chances’. McCaughey was hired first, back in 2024 prior to the season starting. If folks remember, our punting really sucked last year too. We went through THREE punters during the year, and none of them made it to 2025.

Jake Camarda had been with us for 2 year. done OK, then self-destructed in 2024; took all of 4 games. So on came Trenton Gill who lasted for 8 games; nothing to write home about though. Finished the season with Jack Browning coming on for the last 5 games; no invite to return for 2025 though.

We also had TWO long-snappers last season. Zach Triner had been a Buc for 6 years, but ended up in Miami for the last several games of 2024. Since then he’s been waived/released by the Broncos & the Seahawks (not playing right now). Evan Deckers (our current LS) was a rookie with us in 2024 who took over for Triner (11 games in 2024 and all 4 this season).

Bucs have had some decent punters over the years prior though. Bradley Pinion & Bryan Anger come to mind. Both are still in the league & seem to be doing OK.

Personally if I were Todd Bowles & Jason Licht, I’d be questioning my own judgment in hiring the current S/Ts coach. Our punting & coverage over his past 2 years here hasn’t exactly set the world on fire.

  46. heyjude Says:

    Good points, Defense Rules.

  47. Smarter than Joe Says:

HIRE THE BEST COACHES NOT JUST YOUR FRIENDS AND EX CO WORKERS

This is why Arians staff routinely got out classed by the likes of Sean Payton, McVay and other high end coaches as Arians relied on his friends and old players vs hiring the best coaches available

  48. Aqualung Says:

Since Bucs don’t fire coaches for egregious incompetence during the season, someone needs to catch Magoo visiting the porn sites on Buccaneer computers during work hours. Darcy would make sure he got sent packing.

  49. doolnutts Says:

I am located in Giant country I didn’t understand why we hired this guy when we did and I dont understand it now. We can blame our kickers all we want but at what point do we look at the coaching? How many punters & kickers are we going to blame until we realize what the real problem is?

  50. Alanbucsfan Says:

The snapper whiffed on his block and was beaten badly.
The snap was offline as well.
The blocked punt was on the snapper

  51. Tomahawk Says:

I was so confused by blocked punts. I kept thinking McGaughey’s squad was responsible for blocking opposing team’s punts. Blocked punts vs punts blocked…whoops!

  52. larrd Says:

No more punts! Tell Baker he’s got four downs to go ten yards every set of downs, every possession. Kick field goals once past midfield.

Mathematicians say it works better that way, anyhow.

  53. Not Gus Swayze Says:

Has anyone asked Sirianni what he saw on tape and that led to him to yell “I told you, I told you!”

  54. Kenton Smith Says:

If Magoo keeps his job this week I can tell you one thing for sure. Oh heck, even if he doesn’t keep his job. All eyes are gonna be squarely fixed on every special teams snap against the Seahawks. Special teams are kind of like offensive lineman. You really don’t want them making news during the ballgame.

  55. ir8oldman Says:

Seattle has a very good special teams unit, so this game will be telling.

The asses need to be lit on fire from this game on for the Bucs if they want to go deep.

I have noticed that our special teams unit really has no pressure on punts or field goals, nothing even close. So maybe it needs to be emphasized or something.

  56. Aqualung Says:

Kenton, agreed. If you’re any opponent moving forward against the Magoo bus, why wouldn’t you put 10 on the LOS to rush the punter every time?

    Keith Tandy needs a promotion.

  57. Bobby M. Says:

Bowles won’t fire the coach….he’ll toss players under the bus before that happens. We might find a punter that kicks a bit faster but you can bet that unit will still be bottom tier in the league. The fact they didn’t detect this unit being a problem tells me our punt defense team is equally inept since nothing was noticed before the season started.

  58. Mike Johnson Says:

Interesting info here Joe. Maybe it’s time for another Special teams coach, I did not know McGaughey’s track record. But I betcha Philly knew it.

  59. #1bucsfan Says:

This is ridiculous. I don’t get on Jason to much but this one is deff a head scratcher.

  60. Not Gus Swayze Says:

The Bucs have put something bad on tape special teams wise for multiple weeks now. If other teams see it, why can’t they understand what the issues are. Agree with #1bucs… definitely a head scratcher.

  61. Hodad Says:

Dennis should be benched for Jones, but Dennis is Bowles boy. If this guy shouldn’t have been hired, than he for sure needs to be fired. Todd won’t pull the trigger. Loyal to certain players, very loyal to his coaches. The one’s he likes, had no problem canning Leftwich. You know Leftwich would’ve been our head coach, if that’s what Arians wanted right? The choice was between the two of them to take over. Bowles won, than sent Lefty off the Island. Instead of trying out kickers, how about interviewing STs coaches? He won’t do it.

  62. Mobucs Says:

Before McGaughey arrived, Camarda had been quite effective. Did he crack up because he got coached up? Just askin’.

  63. Obvious One Says:

    @DR
Careful DR… you’re stepping on Rossy Colored Glasses (the RCG acolytes club) a lot lately… How Dare You tell truths or give your opinions that don’t line up with the RCG.. Careful or all 5 of them will call you a troll for sure. (Not that anybody gives a d@mn what they think because there is no possibility of needed change in their narrow views)

    @JA
Very well said. Eloquently laid out. I’ve seen a couple of well presented views of late concerning, “concerns” and the legitimacy of having a different points view doesn’t make someone Any Less of a fan than Any Other… The RCG acolytes throw the term “troll” out there when It Is “THEY” that ARE INFACT the Definition of “A TROLL”… Funny how that works.. right.

Of course the RCG club COMPLETELY disagree (per your topic JA) and Also labels you as a “troll” for having the to point out that Others Just Might Like to see the Inadequacies ADRESSED! And with that said people that have opinions Other Than theirs are Legitimate AS ANY! And to be QUITE FRANK, the RCG club, look and sound like F@@ls! They honestly believe that the guy (Bowles) walks on water and is otherworldly in his ability to make no wrong decisions!.. They have more excuses for him than “Carter has liver pills”! (an oldie but a goodie I remember from my childhood. Some of you are old enough to remember I’m guessing)

And there are plenty of others that are Now Standing Up and are Now starting to More Than Expect changes and adjustments, They are Now starting to DEMAND Action to be taken or maybe it’s time to “re evaluate” the possibilities of a potentially better choice to run our team…

I “personally” Have Not “completely given up on Todd” and NO MATTER how this unfolds, he has my support just as much as he has my criticism… WHICH IS A LOT both ways Until this season is Played to it’s end. I’m Not willing to call for his job UNLESS he fails to get us Very Very close MINIMUM, to walking on to that field and in THE SUPER BOWL! I Refuse to give up on him “completely” just yet. He Does have A Lot of Great things he’s accomplished for us. BUT CAN HE FINALLY GET US TO THE SUPER BOWL AFTER SO MANY YEARS OF TRYING OR IS IT THE SAME OLD STORY?

And I DO NOT want to hear about our injuries Anymore! All teams HAVE TO figure it out and PLAY ON!

Until that is answered, I WILL continue to criticize and I WILL continue to support him regardless of my immediate feelings “per game”. We will see…

  64. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Dennis should be benched for Jones, but Dennis is Bowles boy.”

So when then player is good, it’s great job Jason Licht.

When that player struggles, he’s a “Bowles boy”.

“Instead of trying out kickers, how about interviewing STs coaches?”

Yes let’s fire the coach, and keep all the players blowing their assignments, that’ll fix everything.

  65. Bartow Buc Says:

Poor blocking execution = blocked punt . Could it be that the players were coached up but did not execute? I think it could. We’ve all seen the video. It’s not because Dixon is slow, although he could be faster. It’s not because of the long snapper. It’s because the blocking scheme was not executed properly and Latu was untouched on his way to the ball.

They are fixing the problem. I’d say it may be fixed right now !!

    Go Bucs !!

  66. Rocket Says:

One completed pass for a first down out of the punt formation would certainly slow down the punt rush and give the opponent something to think about. I was honestly thinking that that Bucs might try this on their first punt against the Eagles. Alas, that would require an element of creativity.

  67. Tony Says:

This Stonehouse is injury prone, too! Dealt with ACL injuries & all. They must really like a bunch of the injured players.

  68. Woodman Says:

Aw look the 2 lovers kenton & Ironlung complimenting each other like lovers should .

  69. Cometowin2 Says:

Check out MrBucsNation on YouTube. He does an analysis of Ryan Stonehouse. Former All Pro. Younger and more powerful. I say let’s try him!!

  70. GoneGator Says:

    @delusional one
King of the poo colored contacts club 💩👑🤣

  71. Usfbucs Says:

To me it seems that Dixon is super slow in his punts. I also watched a video that shows our long snapper seemingly also moving slow and that leaves a gap in the line exactly where the Eagles player came through to block the punt

  72. orlbucfan Says:

Oh give me a break! Our field goal kicker made a 65 yarder with the same bunch all this howling is about. How come we don’t hear/read about that? In the Jets game, the refs gave the Jets a ST freebie which netted them a few points. This is the lowly Jets, not the SBastards Eaglets. Okay, maybe the ST coach needs to be canned, but really? A fourth of the way through the regular season? Bucs are 3-1, you yahoos.

  73. gp Says:

Short and simple, the blocked fieldgoal should have been a penalty giving us first and goal.
Both blocked punts were due to allowing a free rusher to the punter. One came from the outside and was never touched. The other came on the inside and no one picked him up. I couldn’t tell if there was another rusher taking the attention of the responsible blocker.
The other question is, What is the punter coached to do in the instance of a free rusher?
It does no good whatsoever to kick it into his face, that’s a block.

  74. BucaneroJim Says:

Wonder if Desmond Watson can long snap?

    Fire both of ‘em.
They both are horrible- get’’em out of here!

Let’s be fair to Dixon about the blocked punt- it was Cade Otton who completely whiffed on his block and let the free rusher come in to block the kick.

I blame the ST coach most. Our punt formation shave looked strange and shaky all season long. I understand there’s a few different guys in there due to injuries, but this is literally your job to figure out.

And combining the punter who had the most blocked kicks with a ST coach who had the 3rd most block kicks seems genuinely moronic… Almost as stupid as refusing to address the ILB position at all.

  77. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“The other came on the inside and no one picked him up. I couldn’t tell if there was another rusher taking the attention of the responsible blocker.“

Ryan Miller is the upback, the only blocker behind the LOS, he’s responsible as the last line of defense. They sent a stunt from the right B gap down the A-gap. Long snapper whiffed and the upback took the man who had outside leverage to the left instead of the stunter who looped into the right side A-Gap.

That’s why the Sean Tucker slanders boggles my mind, all you need is eyes and a slight understanding how ST blocking or blocking period, supposed to work. Eye candy is the stunt, the free rusher is a result of the eye Candy.

Good eye GP, you got the juice

  78. Aqualung Says:

Woodboy apparently enjoys uncorrected blocked punts and field goals returned for touchdowns and alarmingly has some strange fascination with fictitious romantic relationships between JBF posters.

Try bacon fat the next time you’re in your closet, sweet pea. And, your dog will love it, too.

    @aquagirl
Do you actually know anything about, and/or plan to ever post anything, about the game of football?

That’s a rhetorical question…. Everybody knows the answer.

Was McGaughey a DEI hire? A friend wanted to know.

Everyone knows special needs reptiles can’t read. It’s sad really, although the ignorant arrogance is worth some chuckles.

  82. Jeff Says:

Time will tell how the first three weeks truly were. Face it fans, we were probably a half dozen plays from being 0-3 but we got fortunate we have a gutsy QB in Mayfield to make the big play to save us each time. Im a long time.season ticket holder and if i had money for each time this team comes out of the tunnel unprepared and uninspired the last three seasons, i could be a minority owner. Sure, we have banners but it seems more like dunking.on a 6 foot rim as our division would be dropped into the next rung if we were English soccer. At this point i feel like injuries are a huge problem for us but not an excuse as many teams have multiple starters on IR or beat up and week to week and we are only truly just wrapping up preseason. At some point it seems like having an offensive minded coach to enhance Baker’s prime years is.more important than Tony Dungy 2.0 and beating up on the bottom feeders of the league. The Glazers said they want to see progress? Wild card flame outs are not progress.
