Bruce Arians Fed Up With Bucs Special Teams, Too

September 30th, 2025

No sugarcoating this.

The atrocious Bucs’ special teams are so bad, now you’ve got people from the front office barking about it on national TV.

Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach and Ring of Honor member Bucco Bruce Arians slapped around the atrocious Bucs’ special teams today during his weekly “Pat McAfee Show” in-studio visit on BSPN.

There, Arians didn’t hide his disgust for the atrocious special teams. Keep in mind Arians is still collecting a check from Team Glazer and is the special assistant to the general manager, Bucs AC/DC-loving Jason Licht.

“Too many blocked kicks for the Bucs,” Arians said. “Blocked kick every week. That’s got to change.”

Joe feels like if this doesn’t change, it will Pearl Harbor the Bucs’ season. It’s bad enough the Bucs have to battle all of these injuries to key players, then they have to battle their own special teams barfing up points. You can’t do that and win many ballgames.

As “this Joe” typed this morning, the Bucs should have seen this coming. Now the question is, how and if the Bucs resolve this major issue.

It’s sad the special teams as a whole are so atrocious they are dragging down the good like Kameron Johnson’s punt returns and Chase McLaughlin’s NFL-record field goal.

  1. Neal Cooter Says:

The Cooter family was having some Ice Tea on the deck and discussing this every thing, we as a family believe that Mr. Arians should be the head coach once again. The Cooter family will be driving to One Buc this evening to have a sit down with the Glaziers to discuss, Mrs. Cooter is baking cookies as we speak

  2. HC Grover Says:

Maybe fire the coach to start.

  3. NeckBraceNed Says:

I feel like there have been a ton of blocked kicks this year

  4. 813bucboi Says:

part of the problem is our Special Teams are super predictable….

    same formation…same personnel…

i cant remember the last time bucs did a fake punt or fake FG….

any hiccups in SEA, heads have to roll

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  5. Joseph C Simmons Says:

Firing the coach is not the current team’s culture.

It’s frustrating that it’s taken this long, but I’m confident they’ll get it fixed.

  6. PanhandleBuc Says:

FIRE the ST coach!!!! Clearly the dude doesn’t have a good track record. Not sure what got him the gig to begin with. BYEEEEEEEEEEE

  7. Not Gus Swayze Says:

Always go for it on 4th down!

  8. Jmarkbuc Says:

Gotta master basic punting, before even thinking about a fake.

  9. Oneilbuc Says:

Man B.A ain’t gone do nothing but talk he don’t have no power with this organization. Lol 🤣🤣

  10. Upstate NY BUC Says:

If this punting debacle can’t be fixed soon, we should go for it on 4th down no matter the yardage anything within the opponent’s 50, why not!! Go Bucs

*** It’s bad enough the Bucs have to battle all of these injuries to key players and then has to battle their own special teams barfing up points. You can’t do that and win many ballgames.***

You left out having to account for so many GAME CHANGING bad calls and non calls by the refs!
The blocked field goal just happens to be one of them.

  12. GoneGator Says:

How many articles will we read about special teams before we acknowledge the offense is an issue….. How many efficient drives this season? How many penalties?

Some of us, going back to last year, warned against the “offense is not a problem” narrative but we caught nothing but grief for it. And it’s still happening.

  13. Rod Stewart Says:

If Bruce Arians had it his way our head coach would be Byron F’i g Leftwich.

  14. Kgh4life Says:

In their desperate pursuit to fix the punting unit the Bucs front office or Bowles overlooked the fact, that Dixon had 10 puntd blocked in his career. He can boot it pretty far but his wind up is slow and methodical. Combine with the blocking schemes on sp teams, it’s a nightmare m.

  15. Woodman Says:

Anyone every think that special teams might be affected by all the injuries?

  16. SlyPirate Says:

Why not adopt the standard college punt formation?

Establish a second level of blockers. Aim punts to go out of bounds so no returns. The solution is really simple.

That’s why I suspect his paycheck has a non-disclosure agreement firmly attached.

You are most likely right about that.

  23. Bucs4ever Says:

Whete did you hear that about bucky?

  24. GoneGator Says:

“Poor gonegator is still having Trask withdrawals. Plus Gator stomping on Saturdays. SMH”

My ” name” actually has nothing to do with the Gators (hint, it’s a tom petty reference) and I never gave a rats a$$ about Trask – lol. Obviously you’re confused – try again? 🤔

  25. infomeplease Says:

    Better days are coming soon!!

  26. Beeej Says:

Did any of you actually watch the game? The long snapper whiffed on his block?

  27. Pops Malone Says:

This is on Todd Bowles. I’m sorry. He signed off on the slow motion punter and raved about him during the offseason and last year, when Keith Armstrong finally retired, you bum, (thank you Keith and thank you god), we went and replaced him with a coach that is even worse. Replace both of them now before its too late. But he won’t do it…..

  28. DailyRich Says:

Word is no signings from any of the punters we had work out today.

  29. Oxycondomns Says:

any info on how many blocked punts broncos had last season?

  30. Durango 95 Says:

It is a disgrace so much talent going to waste under an incompetent HC. Every single year. He should have been gone a long time ago. Maybe the Glazers should stop listening to Ira Kaufman and other Bowles apologists.

  31. Oxycondomns Says:

just got a google ai answer no blocked punts vs dixon and broncos last season

  32. BucsFan81 Says:

Bowles is not going anywhere that ship sailed when he got his extension this summer. The punter and special teams coach should be fired though

  33. OR Buc Says:

Can’t block for a punt, can’t block for a kick, our pets heads are falling off! Just put Vita and Tristan in the middle of those units. Problem solved.

  34. Les Says:

Jason light dropped the ball when he did not give Cohen the head coach job !!WE COULD HAVE BUILT ON THAT SUCESS .BOWLS ONLY TAKES US SO FAR. NOW WE HAVE A ROOKIE CALLING PLAYS WITH NO EXPERIANCE ! JAGWARES SAW ARE OFFENCE AND JUMPED ON COHEN AND LEFT JASON LIGHT IN THE DUST JAGS OFFENCE LOOKS BETTER ALREADY ! 🤬🤬

  35. heyjude Says:

Whoa! Good for BA for speaking out. Thinking Todd, the Glazers, and Jason are listening too.

  36. Kidfloflo Says:

The Cooter Brown family gonna issue a formal apology for being 100% wrong that Bridgewater was gonna start for the eagles game!?

  37. GoneGator Says:

    @Les
There are Jacksonville fan sites too….might be a more appropriate place to “stroke” your ginger messiah😳😉😡🤬

  38. David Says:

When the eagle player came off the field he said “I told you it would work”, which means the block was schemed and they just flat out outsmarted us. The coach needs to go. 3 blocks in 3 weeks, come on

  39. #99 the big fella Says:

Lol Gonegator, Now that was good!! I was definitely laughing at your comment..

  40. #99 the big fella Says:

The cooter family has inside information that his saints team is really bad this year

  41. Aqualung Says:

There’s two maroons who should get a room to continue their massagefest.
