Betting The Bucs (Week 4 Edition)

After scouring every possible Bucs-related wager, Joe is turning to the Bucs’ hot kicker, Chase McLaughlin. After a terrrible start, McLaughlin was money last week with five field goals, including the game-winner under pressure. Last year, McLaughlin kicked 2 or more field goals in nine of 17 games, including two against the Eagles. And he trends toward multiple field goal games against good opponents.
Joe also likes the Bucs +3.5 points. No, Joe’s not picking the Bucs to win. But they’ll fight relentless with a hot quarterback and a close game seems more likely than not, especially if the Eagles struggle again with the heat. Not a ton of confidence here, but enough to drop a few bucks.
And Joe’s longshot goes to Rachaad White catching four or more balls (+1000), something he did in 6 of 17 games last season. The Bucs have been ignoring White in the passing game. That should end because it’s a smart move, but Joe thinks it’s more likely to end with Mike Evans now out with a bad hamstring. Well worth the odds.

Cooter, I think the game will be closer and I have a sense the Bucs get the home win on a hot day. But I have to give you credit. This is least nonsensical comment I’ve read that you’ve made.

I don’t gamble.
I want a win, but as with the past 2 weeks, I have my doubts…primarily because of injuries.
But…Chris is back. The offensive line is returning to almost normal. (minus Cody)
However, it is the Eagles. They play mean. I’ll feel more secure if we get through this game with no injures.
