Rookies Praised For Similar Traits

August 8th, 2025

Praises rookies.

There is a lot of chatter about Bucs rookies.

For good reason. Most of them look like they can play.

This week when Kay Adams of FanDuel TV stopped by Bucs training camp, she asked Todd Bowles if something stood out among the group of rookies.

Bowles seems to think it’s their professionalism.

“Their ability to learn and process, has been outstanding,” Bowles said. “Between Emeka [Egbuka], [Tez] Johnson, [Benjamin] Morrison, [J.J.] Roberts. They have been outstanding from a professional standpoint.

“And that’s been a joy this summer.”

No wonder these guys are showing out. They came to Tampa with a serious mindset. And that work ethic shows on the practice field.

Could this be another stellar rookie class by Jason Licht?

He has developed into such a great GM.

  2. Lt. Dan Says:

When Joe first dropped the “Ring of Honor” moniker on Licht, I laughed because I felt it was way to premature. Now though, as the great Micky Dolenz once sang, “I’m a believer”.

Not sure we know what we have until week 4/5..

No mention of Walker or Parrish?
    LOL
Seems like Parrish has been getting a ton of propping the past week. He will ball. When Lavonte singles you out to Kay in an interview, you know it’s real.

Feel really bad for Walker. Was looking forward to seeing him in pre-season. 😖

I have to believe the talent and “want to” are there this year. I don’t remember Bowles ever being in this good a mood before. He seems totally stoked. His attitude, his words, his enthusiasm all say he loves what he sees on the field. That’s got to be a good sign.

Looking forward to listening tomorrow night. Go Bucs!

I’m not sure if JJ Roberts will beat out Kaevon Merriweather for the final Safety spot.

Merriweather played decent last season filling in for Whitehead
And he’s a very good Special Teams player
He knows the playbook, knows the system

i wanna see the 2nd string OL and DL in action

    depth is critical!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

Lt. Dan I think Neal Diamond said it first. I want to see how Elijah Klein has improved his pass blocking. I noticed they are giving him reps at center and tackle along with his traditional guard spot. He is an absolute steam roller in the run game. See some good things from Braswell. His first step is markedly quicker than last season. He looks like he has a much better grasp of the scheme this season as well as believing he belongs in the league. I predict he will be much improved and get more snaps. Will he hit double digits? I don’t know but I do think he will be giving an opportunity by getting more snaps. He’s earned that chance. Sky is the limit . One other thing I’d like to touch on is Ebuka. I know there has been a lot of hype but wow! How did this guy fall out of the top 5 picks?!! He looks like a seasoned pro. He was giving Titans DBs fits with these tiny little wiggles and shimmies. Imaging a thoroughbred horse being a ballerina dancer. That’s what he looks like out there. Strong and agile. Bucs got top 5 talent at the 19th pick. “Licht”ning strikes again. Absolute steal.
    As always Go Bucs.
