Sore Lavonte David

July 31st, 2025

Joe loves seeing Lavonte David watching training camp practices and not participating.

The guy’s a 14-year veteran. He doesn’t need any wear-and-tear beyond the mandatory.

David was watching practice today like he was Tuesday night. The Bucs had a day off Wednesday. David often sits out practices inside the Glazer Shed like Tuesday’s was. Veterans usually hate doing anything on turf if they can avoid it. Grass is preferred.

However, David rested during today’s practice, which was out of the ordinary after two rest days.

Head coach Todd Bowles said David has a leg that’s “a little sore” and that’s the extent of it. Bowles said it’s not a hamstring injury.

“[I] feel no need putting him out there right now,” Bowles said of David.

Joe feels no need, either.

I hope we can give LVD some plays off during the season, but who would fill in?

    Good call Todd.

    Good move.

    Let the man rest.

No need to take a chance on aggravating something minor into something bigger.

We all know what we are going to get out of Lavante. There’s absolutely no need to risk injury at practice for him.

agreed! all the vets that are older and guaranteed 1st string should be limited

    Well glory be….

Aqualung has something positive to say about coach Bowles – for seemingly the first time ever…..

I’m really hoping LVD and SVD can both get through this season relatively injury free…

I’m still terrified by our ILB depth, personally.

Losing LVD for any amount of time will be far worse than losing Winfield last year, which was also very bad for us…

Love me some LVD. But man I really wish we drafted his replacement like jahid so he could learn from one of the greatest. That would have bin a good insurance policy

That is a wise move. Lots of bodies flying around trying to impress.

Wondering how Bullock has looked as well as Grier. Those backups could be critical.

    Go Bucs!
