Mike Evans No. 82
June 20th, 2025
Consummate pro.
Joe would expect no less. And certainly not from someone who has his eye on the ball like prickly Pete Prisco.
The long-time CBS NFL columnist came out with his Top-100 Players this week, an annual summer ritual.
The one guy we know folks could safety bet their mortgage on who is on the Bucs roster and who will also someday be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Mike Evans, is on Prisco’s list.
There, the man who has never had less than 1,000 yards receiving in a season can find himself at No. 82.
Playing in 14 games, Evans once again went over 1,000 yards, the 11th straight season doing so. He had 74 catches with 11 touchdowns and continued to show off his big-play ability. (Last season: No. 88)
The first phrase in Prisco’s description is the key factor: 14 games. Evans didn’t play in a full season and there were some games where Evans wasn’t fully healthy. Yet he still found a way to keep his 1,000-yard receiving streak intact.
Evans is in a contract year in this, his 12th season. Who knows what he will do next year, if he plays football. But Joe believes Bucs fans can agree, it’s been an honor watching Evans in pewter and red.

Underrated.

Yeah, and imagine what he’s gonna do this year when the opponents will not be able to double team him. Carnage I’m telling you. There is gonna be carnage! He could have a career year and we’d still be able to feed the rest of these hungry beasts. Because we’ve got a gunslinger who’s not happy about how things turned out last year. And he’s gonna take his frustrations out on the scoreboard this year and he has an OC that’s going to be encouraging him to do just that. It’s gonna be more fun than a barrel of monkeys- just watch!

BS.
Every year this man gets written down.
And every year he gets 1,000 yards.

Wow there must be some HOF players I am not aware of in the top 80… Nah Pete is like the rest of the scribblers.
Go Bucs!

Number 82? Looking at some of the names before him, made me wonder what Prisco was thinking. Although, happy to see Wirfs at number 20.
Mike is not given his credit due and then he makes all the naysayers drown in their before season rhetoric. Mike will get over 1,000 yards again. He will prove them all wrong. We Bucs fans and many others love Mike. He is the heart and soul of the Bucs. He’s been my favorite player since his A&M days. Go Bucs!
