“I Finally Felt Like I Was Capable Of Anything”

Is there an explanation for Bucs receiver Jalen McMillan catching a ridiculous 7 touchdown passes in his final 5 games of last year’s regular season?

There is.

Asked on The Sports Web about what made “the lights turn on” for him as a rookie late last season, McMillan had a quick answer.

“I developed a sense of belonging. I felt like when I stepped onto the field for that second half [of the season], I finally felt like I was capable of anything I put my mind to, and I really believed it,” McMillan replied. “So, yeah, I just put my mind to it.”

Often, it just takes time for rookies to adjust. Even several Bucs legends had rookie years that weren’t special.

As for Tampa Bay’s first-round pick this season, receiver Emeka Egbuka, McMillan says fans won’t see much of a learning curve.

“Y’all going to have a route runner,” McMillan said before praising Egbuka’s learning rate and calling him “a real pro.”

Who Cares. Bigger issues are upon us.

Nice positive outlook I see, HC Grover.

What so-called “big issue“ is upon us?
ILB should be fantastic, but there is a massive depth issue there. That’s the only issue I see.

All about work and confidence once you reach a certain skill level. You could see the difference with J-Mac last half of the season.

WR coach deserves some credit. The vets already in the room deserve some too.
And since Todd gets blamed for everything – he should get some credit too – he creates and maintains “the culture”.

I was on the J-Mac train earlier than most…. Believe he’s another WR capable of 1k. If he continues to learn/improve he’ll be WR 1 or 1a for us when Mike (and then Chris) hang up their cleats 🤞🏼

McMillan is a heck of a #4 receiver (once Godwin returns). Keeping the offensive pressure on. Solid RB rotation. Solid TE room. Excellent O Line. Franchise QB. Let’s do this thing!

Bowles said that ILB was one of the deepest positions. With Walker Jr. and veteran Deon Jones, I don’t think we have to worry about the ILB room..

My only concern is major injuries in training camp/preseason.
It’s the luck of the draw every year. Hopefully we’ll be spared any catastrophic injuries to key players.

His deer in the headlights performance in the redskins playoff game says “show me don’t tell me.”

Drops a cupcake that would have pit Bucs in scoring range. Then the fumble that everyone blames on Baker when it’s clear JMac didn’t know what planet he was on.

    Carry on.
